Dr. Raymond Konior
This is a 52 year old male who first presented to my office 6 years earlier with a prior history of frontal restoration using minigrafts. He described the result as being “pluggy” and requested density enhancement and camouflage of his unnatural appearance. He underwent a single session of 3397 grafts using a staged strip harvest to assure maximum graft viability. Grafts were distributed throughout the frontal and midscalp regions. He recently visited my office to show off his 6 year postop result which is presented here. Dr. Ray Konior is a highly esteemed member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians. Senior Member JON86 Posted October 1, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted October 1, 2016 That is really impressive especially for the amount of grafts used over such a large area.

Regular Member Windjammer Posted October 4, 2016 Regular Member Share Posted October 4, 2016 Appears to be a very successful procedure for this man. It's also nice to see long term cases like this. Does he have plans to address the crown at all? I had one other question: what is meant by a "staged strip harvest" as this was the man's only procedure by you? It means you take half of the strip out, implant the grafts, then take the other half. It reduces the time out of the body for the grafts. Is this standard for Dr. Konior if a large strip session is in order? Curious, is there a specific graft number threshold that makes this the better option? He took my first half at 8am then the second at 4pm. The whole strip was 'cut' at 8am but not all of it removed. The second removal is much quicker (30mins instead of 1hr+) No idea when he chooses to do this but I'd guess when it's over 2500+ grafts. 4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013 1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018 763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020 Proscar 1.25mg every 3rd day
Senior Member chrisdav Posted October 15, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted October 15, 2016 Nice work doc. 2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK. Based on vast research and meeting patients, I travelled to see Dr Feller in New York to get repaired.
