Senior Member Dr. William Parsley Posted April 26, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted April 26, 2013 31 y/o WM was rapidly losing his hair in an eventual NW6 pattern. He was placed on 0.25mg of finasteride daily (1/4 of a Propecia) and minoxidil foam twice daily for a year. Not all hair restoration has to be surgical, particularly if the patient has an abundance of miniaturized hair. Senior Member chrisdav Posted April 26, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted April 26, 2013 Another great example Dr of non-surgical treatments playing an important role in combating hair loss. 2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK. Based on vast research and meeting patients, I travelled to see Dr Feller in New York to get repaired.
Senior Member Cant decide Posted April 26, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted April 26, 2013 Dr. Parsley - Have you even seen a patient switch from finasteride to Dustasteride because finasteride was not working too well and changing to the dut made a positive difference? Regular Member jaity Posted April 27, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted April 27, 2013 For How long would a patient normally expect to maintain these great results? Is it mainly down to minoxidil ?

Regular Member Raymond2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted April 27, 2013 I would say this is the best results i've seen from someone. This is not a normal result from taking monox and fin at all I just feel like this gives a lot of false hope but you never know till you try! 2500 grafts + Acell/PRP progress with Dr.Cooley 4/12/13 http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/170209-my-2500-grafts-hair-transplant-w-prp-acell-treatment-journey-dr-cooley.html
Senior Member Dr. William Parsley Posted April 29, 2013 Author Senior Member Share Posted April 29, 2013 I have seen very few patients have any significant improvement by switching to Dutasteride but some feel that it helped. Most of the patients that improved significantly on this combination treatment had a lot of miniaturized hair and the result was not a great surprise. I have quite a few patients with very good results, but this fellow's result was exceptional. There have been a number of patients on combination treatment who have held there results for over 10 years and counting. Senior Member irishsailor Posted April 29, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted April 29, 2013 Great result. Regular Member jaity Posted May 3, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted May 3, 2013 wow - 10 yrs? That makes meds a great option if you could achieve that length of time. I personally had put the option of minoxidil on the back burner as I had the impression that its a pain in the ass to apply & that the results were only short term. I have also read that it creates minoxidil dependency in the hairs so could precipitate hairloss if you had a reason to stop taking it. I would be more confident to try Propecia on its own, because of these impressions.
Regular Member Since13 Posted August 7, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted August 7, 2013 Wow...I assume that his results is similar to as if he had transplanted 5000 grafts. What do you think?

Regular Member srik Posted February 20, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted February 20, 2015 Dr. Parsley: Excellent result from Meds. If we can atleast maintain our hair for about 10 years with the meds (regrow like in this case would be bonus), its a great thing. 1. Dr has any of your patients been on the foam once a day. Is it also as effective? 2. The guy has responded to 0x25mg of propecia? That would also decrease the chances of sideeffects i think. Dr any ideas on the effectiveness of sawpalmetto? Thanks
