  1. I have the same question. There were not any grafts placed in the vertex. But the region seems to be better in the after photos.
  2. That is an excellent result. I am particularly interested in this case, as i have a generalized thinning on top as well. I have not seen as many results from doctors in such cases. I would like to ask two questions: 1. Is he on medication, if yes how long has he been on that before the operation. 2. Has there been any concern of shock loss(permanent), as there is a lot of native hair already and new grafts are being transplanted in between those. This seems to be a common concern for patients/doctors having/treating such diffused thinning on top. Srik
  3. Hi, This question is specific to any thread user who is currently resident of India (any others who have the answer can ofcourse help me :-)). I am indian origin male who is going to stay in india for about 6 weeks. I have been using Finpecia from Cipla for the last 6 months. i am just thinking instead of carrying the finpecia tablets for the 6 weeks to india, i could buy them in india itsel (1. its cheaper in india, 2. to avoid security checking of the tablests if any) Now my question is: Can we buy finpecia tablets in india at any Pharmacy without any prescription? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Srik
  4. amazing results coming in from Dr Soni. Dr Soni, have you operated on any diffuse hair loss patient? Is it possible (if i post you some photos of mine), for you to assess my hair loss and adivse accordingly. I am an NRI (basically from south india) living in germany.
  5. very nice result. has the patient been on finasteride. the area which didnot receive any grafts also seem to have thickened up (posterior area just before the crown)
  6. Wow. Am i the only one who is thinking that this is an awesome result
  7. Thanks for the response. I dont know what made me think that it was his second procedure But my point about shockloss still remains. As you have transplanted some hair around the existing hair, it has still come out very well, showing that there was minimal/no shockloss. Why do then many people fear of shock loss in diffused hair loss patients. By the way is this patient not suffering from diffused hair loss.
  8. This is an excellent result in my opinion as the second session increased the visual density of the hair by leaps and bounds. Speaking about second session, we always hear about the fear of temporary/permanent shock loss in the recipient area, while speaking about FUT/FUE procedures on diffused hair loss patients. When a patient like for example in this procedure is transplanted for a second time, isnt there a similar scare? I always keep hearing about doctors asking their patients to come in for a second session after some time to increase the density. Isnt there a scare of shock loss then? Still there are a lot of patients going in for a second session to increase the density. Then why do they always speak of shockloss only in patients with diffused hair loss pattern?
  9. Nice results. Is he ony any medication? I just want to know if all the growth has been due to the grafts or if there has been any positive effect of the medication.
  10. Nice result for less than 3000 grafts. Not much shockloss either. Is he on fin? or is he just continuing the Minoxidl which has already used for 5 year.
  11. 1. Yes there was a lot of miniaturized hair pre op, and finasteride could have helped that hair to thicken up. 2. Growing out that hair as in the results pictures might have enhanced the effect of the results a little. 3. The HT could be aggressive looking at the number of grafts used and the number of miniaturized hair pre op and the number of donor grafts remaining. But having said all that, i would be inclined to say that it is a stellar result particularly as it seems there is little or no shock loss to the recipient area. Lot of miniaturized hair in the recipient area should also increase the probability of permanent shock loss which doesnot seem to be the case here. Srik.
  12. Great result. Was he on meds? I see a visual improvement in the non transplanted area (vertex).
  13. @Ontop Thanks for the advice and the encouragement. I will continue using the medication with a big hope that it would help me. @Uk86 Yes i will try to montior the progress with pictures. @ILikeMyhair That would mean, two years of fin without any major sides for you? Has the medication been any help for you with regards to hair? Did you notice any improvement? (reduction in hairloss, thickening of hair or anthing of that sorts?) I am 35 now and lets see how long i can put up with this medicine. I really hope long enough and also hope my hair improves
  14. @Uk86 Thanks bro. @RanDave I have been taking the 1mg Generic fin for about 3 months. The first month: I have followed a Monday-Wednesday-Friday regime. The next 1.5 months i think i have been taking it on all week days (5 days a week). It is hard to say if i am seeing any difference. I am inclined to say i dont see any improvement as of today. I am continuing to lose hair probably at the same pace as earlier when i was not using medication. Should i continue using it? what do you guys say? I thought in about 3 months i will be seeing some change (atleast decrease in the loss of hair)
  15. Perfect. Awesome. I just have one question. The posterior 1/3 as shown in the post op pics was not operated. But the after results show quite a significant improvement in that area aswell? (meds?)
  16. I would second that. No grafts were placed in the crown region or in posterior 1/3. But after pics show a tremendous increase in the density in that region which was very thin in the before pictures. Can this be attributed to only minoxidl? (as he is not on finasteride)
  17. Wow his hair looks so dense on top after the transplant. And this result for just about 4200 grafts. Perfect combination of a good transplant and Fin
  18. Wow, good to know you have been using it for 5 years without sides (hopeully some success regarding aswell:) By the way thank you all for the responses guys. Since yesterday i have started taking 1mg fin (generic one) every other day (to begin with). Let us see how my body puts up with it and i am hoping for the best with regards to the hair.
  19. What do you mean by 1/4 of a pill of fin EOD?
  20. Excellent results. Fantastic density achieved. Are there any immediate post op pics to know where the grafts were planted. I am assuming only in the hairline and nothing in midscalp/vertex region.
  21. Great improvement for the patient. It is really interesting for me as i am suffering from a similar pattern of hairloss (diffused on top) if not exactly the same. I have seen many HT clinics rejecting such cases for two reasons: a Shockloss to native hair in the recepient area. b. Considering the future hairloss especially since he is not on meds. Can you give us your inputs on the above mentioned points. Having said that result is very good.
