I've been using a mixture rotating a shampoo called regenepure and head & shoulders every other day and I really feel like the stuff helps, good ingredients. The downside is its not cheap :cool: Here's one from 3 months out when I felt very down. I let the anxiety really get me. Felt like I made a mistake. Just keep calm and grow I regret how much I worried the first 3-4 months.

Yes my head was very crusty (for lack of a better word) I ended up needing to use this oil that you apply at night and put a cap over it to help with it. It followed with some dandruff but it all cleared up after a few weeks.

I was able to do it. I returned to work 10 days after having the procedure done before the sutures were even removed. It took me some white lies and ambition but, you'll find a way to get through it. I wouldn't let that fear stop you because even if, worst case you aren't "cleaned up" in the 2 weeks you won't care nothing about that when you see the results. Like mentioned make sure to keep it long in the back to help hide the donor area A hat would be ideal but from the sounds of it, that's not a option at work. Wish you the best of luck!

No Doc but I can tell you that the cycle will for sure effect the existing hair hopefully you're taking something to stop DHT but keep in mind no drug can 100% stop MPB. I highly doubt that the cycle will have any effect on the outcome of your HT, especially with a very small amount of test . Good luck on your HT

For me it was around 3-4 weeks when they started coming off. It's a emotional rollercoaster! Just hang in there because good things are coming in a few months!

Wish I could afford to go back one more time but it's just not a possibility for me. I'm going to stick with the finastride and hope the minox will help with the crown(just started using it). Dr. Cooley has turned my life around. I feel like myself again and i'm more then grateful for the incredible skill that he and his staff have. You will feel the same in a few months my friend. I'm happy for you. Losingmyhair, I don't know for sure if the acell works and it's a very debated topic in the HT world but I can asure you that it won't make or break a HT. In my honest opinion I think it is mostly good for the healing of the scar but that also has to do with a lot of how well you heal so I really wouldn't sweat it. As long as your body will allow that scar to heal up good I can guarantee Dr Cooley rigged it right with a couple bowlines and few extra half hitches lol. The grafts won't even begin to grow in the first 3 months. At least they didn't for me. Just take care of that head. Use all of the spray, keep that cream on the scar, keep it clean and try not bump your head on anything. I hope you the best outcome brother, good luck!

Also when you go back to work try to keep your head up and I mean that literally like when you bend down or pick stuff up you want to prevent that scar from stretching. Good luck bud! Did u get the acell/prp?

It was 2 weeks for me. When I went back to work I lied and told my foreman I had to get a couple cyst cut out of my head and that I wasn't supposed to do anything strenuous and they bought it. Took it easy for a week then went back to normal the next week. No way in hell I would let your crew know u had a ht but thats just me. I bought a few do rags and put them on under my hard hat and kept the hat loose but remember to take as many breaks as possible to take everything off to let the grafts breathe. Congratulations on getting it done bud you picked the right man for the job Dr Cooley is the best around.

Thanks agent, it feels good to hear that. I'm in a much better place mentally since taking the plunge I just pray the propecia will protect me.

I hope you're right! I just fear that the addition of new growth and progression of loss is going blow for blow right now... I'm taking the propecia m/w/f but still notice about 10 hairs in the every day in the sink. My left temple has gotten really bad and it doesn't seem to be slowing down either. It took me 5 years to save for my procedure and don't see myself ever affording it again, so I can only keep my head up and hope for the best and be greatful for what I have! I am going to start using minoxidil next month. I just wanted to see what kind of results were made from the procedure before I started it. Hopefully it helps!

Here's another old pic I found. So far I'm really happy that I found this board and went through with a procedure with Dr. Cooley. I was wearing a hat every day of my life and now I finally feel good about my hair again;). Almost as if I've been reborn. I still have the greedy side that wants more and I feel like the procedure caused some shock loss to my left temple but I feel very fortunate with my results thus far.

Pre HT and 5 Month Post OP

I feel great so far I just hope to get more growth but not sure realistically how much more I can expect from here. My barber told me he thought I could get away with a #3 and the scar wouldn't show so im more than greatful for that.

It's very encouraging to hear this from you guys I just pray the transplanted hairs turn out good too. I don't know the exact size of the strip that was removed but I found this picture of a close up before the sutures were removed.

To be honest nathaniel, I never even asked. I knew the price difference was significant so I just stuck with the fut procedure. I love the idea of fue though. It's pretty sweet and without a doubt the best option if you can afford it imo. I just wanted to get the most coverage I could get for my money as shaving my head is not an option to me. I can't feel the scar in the back. There's one tiny spot at the very end of the scar behind my left ear where if I take my nail and rub it over I can feel it but it takes me awhile to find it but other than that, I can't feel it.

Thank you for all the kind and encouraging words It means alot. Even though my hair is still not looking good without the concealers I am still excited every time I see a new little hair sprout out. The only thing that is worrying me is that every time I comb my hair at least 5 or more hairs are in the sink. I also began to experience some bad dandruff at about 2 1/2 months but it's almost gone after using a bottle of Tsal shampoo. Why FUT over FUE? Money was pretty much the only reason. I also felt good about Dr.Cooleys reputation with the strip. The scar in the back. I've asked three people to tell me what it looked like and all three said they couldn't find it. Here's a picture of the back I just took a few minutes ago. What is your honest opinion?
