Senior Member agenteye Posted July 27, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted July 27, 2013 Alexiodg Your hair looks awesome buddy! I also saw a great deal of shock-loss around my scar (not nearly as bad as you), and it just finally grew back in at 8 months-post op. That's a bummer....but give it some time to make a come back. Obviously the rest of your head looks outstanding for 6 months.....you're a fast grower like I was. What a huge difference the restoration made for you, so congratulations. Have you expressed your concern to Dr. Rahal's office at all with the shockloss? 4737 FUT with Dr. Rahal on 11/16/2012 Daily regimen: 1/4 Proscar (1.25 mg Finasteride), Rogaine Foam (twice daily), 1000 mcg Biotin, 1 combo Vitamin D/Calcium/Magnesium, 1500 mg Glocosamine, 750 mg MSM, 1200 mg Fish Oil, 2000 mg Vitamin C, Super B-Complex, 400 I.U Vitamin E. Senior Member Cant decide Posted July 28, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted July 28, 2013 I am quite confident that the shockloss will eventually grow in. It is very rare for donor shock loss not to come back. It is very rare for donor shock loss not to come back. I really hope it is shockloss but it may also be a stretched scar. I mistook my situation as shockloss initially but turns out it wasn't. Front is growing in nicely though. The only 2 threads you will ever need: Revamped Advantages/Disadvantages of FUE. Myths dispelled. Educate yourself Everything FUE. Do you feel better with all those drugs, vitamins MSM etc..? My shockloss is getting smaller, but is still evident. In two weeks I will see Dr. Rahal in Roma for a consultation. Senior Member Arrie Posted September 11, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted September 11, 2013 (edited) Alexiodog, Great improvements, and if you could please update the scar situation that would be fantastic! I never knew shockloss could go for that long period of time, and I personally would still be concerned its a stretched scar ( I PRAY FOR YOU THAT I AM WRONG). If you wouldnt mind lifting the hair in the donor area and take detailed pictures of the scar to give the community a better idea of how its healing, I think that would help tremendously. If you dont want to I understand and I hope you get your answers and the results you are hoping for and deserve. Thanks for documenting your journey! Senior Member alexiodg Posted October 21, 2013 Author Senior Member Share Posted October 21, 2013 The "shockloss" is due to the less laxity of the scalp...maybe before the transplant I should have done more exercise of laxity. I reccomend this to all the people want to make a transplant. The doctor said me that in case I would repair this situation, he will cover the bald area of the scar with a FUE operation for free. I'm happy about what the doctor said. I will decide if and when do the repair operation of the scar in a few months. Not looking for an argument but I'm not so sure it is stretched scar. I know he mentions 'scar' but that might be because English is not his first language. The thing is that hairless area was already apparent just after the sutures came out. I'd expect a scar to become apparent over a period of time. Either way, I hope he gets it sorted! 4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013 1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018 763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020 Proscar 1.25mg every 3rd day
