Senior Member Christine Posted September 17, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted September 17, 2010 (edited) This post features a 31 year old gentleman with MPB Norwood 4v/5 who came to Arocha Hair Restoration wanting to start the hair restoration process with a procedure of 3000 FU. He has medium/fine hair caliber and average density of 80 FU/cm2. The after photos were taken during an impromptu visit 10 months post transplant. He stopped by after he had worked out and perspired a great deal. He stated that he would be back in a few months for his one year follow up visit. Senior Member Cant decide Posted September 18, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted September 18, 2010 Very very nice!! Can we have some detail on graft placement and grafts per sq cm? The post op pic looks like none were placed on the crown but his crown seems to have filled in. Maybe he is on propecia? Senior Member Christine Posted September 20, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted September 20, 2010 Hi Cant decide, Thanks for taking the time to post and for the kind comments. After asking Dr. Arocha I found out the hairline was placed with a density of about 65 fu/cm2. The patient is on maximal medical therapy to prevent progression of hairless, including Propecia, Rogaine 5%, and Nizoral 2%. He is showing a good response to the medical therapy in the crown area. Senior Member Spanker Posted September 28, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted September 28, 2010 The hair line looks great but behind it is still very thin and his "faux" hawk kind of covers it up. Maybe he is considering further sessions...but at least his hair line looks really good. Senior Member Shadow of the EMpire State Posted September 28, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted September 28, 2011 Hard to comment on the results because this guy needs substantially more than 3,000 grafts to have effective coverage of the top. Senior Member Cant decide Posted February 9, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted February 9, 2013 This is a great example of what I have been saying forever. Even with some thinning still apparent on the top, as long as you have a solid hairline and solid side profiles, you will have a solid overall look IMO. Senior Member Davis91 Posted February 9, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted February 9, 2013 Can't Decide I agree with your philosophy on the side profiles. You mentioned this was a priority for your next visit with Dr. Rahal. Any chance we can see some pics?
Senior Member Cant decide Posted February 9, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted February 9, 2013 Can't Decide I agree with your philosophy on the side profiles. You mentioned this was a priority for your next visit with Dr. Rahal. Any chance we can see some pics? Absolutely! I go in for my consult March 25th in preparation for my second surgery in August. I will post pics after my consult along with a write up of what the Doc and I decide on the game plan. Of course pics documenting my entire second procedure will also be posted. Dr. Bernardino Arocha
Can’tdecide, I often see men with advanced stage MPB but residual forelock even the most minimal ones with 10-100 hairs ask what is the chance that I may damage their native hair during their surgery? The lesson is that even this minimal amount of hair gives some framing which gives the patient some valued benefit. Dr. Beehner has lectured for years about his approach to surgical restoration of Advanced stage MPB. At the heart of his design is the important forelock area. So you are correct the restoration of the hair line with a focus on the forelock has a profound benefit in our patient’s hair restoration outcomes! HairE
Why do you comb the hair forward covering the transplanted area? And in the one pic, the hair is combed in from the sides. I agree with spanker.
