Senior Member Jotronic Posted September 4, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted September 4, 2010 This Vancouver patient came to see Dr. Hasson in October, 2009. His goal was to have as much of a change as possible in one session. Dr. Hasson transplanted 4239 grafts in one session with the result shown below at 11 months post-op. The distribution of the grafts started at the hairline then, with lower density, was blended with lesser density into the down slope at the top of the crown. The patient started Propecia six months before the procedure. Note that the patient was wearing copious amounts of gel in his hair during this round of photos. 1688 Singles 2234 Doubles 317 3/4 Total: 4239 Donor Area 11 Months After Surgery The Truth is in The Results Dr. Victor Hasson and Dr. Jerry Wong are members of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians
Senior Member haircut Posted September 4, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted September 4, 2010 That is amazing! You can't even see the donor scar until the last photo and then only if you are looking for it. If this patient grew his hair a little longer it would be even more concealed. Senior Member Fingers Crossed Posted September 4, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted September 4, 2010 Great result! I would like to see what his hair looks like without all that gel. Either way it looks terrific. My Hair Loss Website - Hair Transplant with Dr. Hasson
Senior Member hairthere Posted September 4, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted September 4, 2010 Nice result! Someone should tell him to ditch the gel and get some pomade or paste. It would give the spikey look without making it look so sparse... Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted September 4, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted September 4, 2010 Jotronic, While the patient isn't doing himself any favors by over gelling, I think his hair looks great on him. It really works with his look. The scar is unbelievable! I'm very impressed. I'm sure this has to be one of the closest cut donor areas I've seen with scar remaining virtually undetectable. Senior Member Jotronic Posted September 7, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted September 7, 2010 Thanks all for chiming in. Yeah, he was wearing a lot of gel and I agree that it would be interesting to see what his result is like without it but the thing that impresses me is that he can wear lots of gel and get away with it. It's his preference and he can pull it off. Because he lives near the clinic he might be able to come in at a later date for dry hair photos and video. If he does, I'll update this thread. Senior Member Spanker Posted December 19, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted December 19, 2013 This is a great result, and the gel looks great. My question is, is this pt considered to have retrograde alopecia because of the thinning in front of and above the ears, or is this consider within the fairly normal scope and a non-remarkable condition. Senior Member Jotronic Posted June 19, 2014 Author Senior Member Share Posted June 19, 2014 Spanker, A little bit of both but I think that it is more the latter as the signs of retrograde alopecia are only minor.
