  1. The reason why my results were poor is due to the dermatits I had prior to the surgery. If you look closely at my pics that I just posted, I still have it. This skin condition in my opinion has negatively affected my overall yield. I tried using the Polytar AF shampoo and that helped for a little but it never fully took it away. I'm not blaming anyone, it's nobody's fault. So for future reference to all that suffer from dermatitis and are thinking about having a HT, go and see a dermatologist to get things cleared up before pursuing a HT.
  2. Hey guys, It's been a very long time since I updated my hair loss website. It's updated, feel free to ask questions or express your opinions.
  3. Yea I know, sorry about that. I have been really busy because I'm in grad school and I haven't had much free time. My semester ends in 2 weeks so I'll update it then when I have some free time. To be honest, some days it looks good and other days it doesn't. The right side of my hairline still lacks density in comparison to my left side. I still have 2 more months of thickening left so we'll see.....
  4. Will 100 grafts really make that much of a cosmetic difference?
  5. Wow, what a very detailed write up. The first week is definitely nerve wracking but try not to obsess like I did. Happy growing!
  6. Happy Birthday Joe. I thought your temple points looked great before but I guess they will look even better now. Happy growing!
  7. Your hair looks great! I'm happy for you and I'm sure you'll have a killer hairline right around the holiday season. Happy growing
  8. I haven't posted pics in a long time....been crazy busy. I'll post pics this weekend...so far I'm pretty pleased with my results with the exception of the right side of my hairline. The hair is there, it just needs to thicken.
  9. So far so good! I'm glad to see you didn't have to shave your head just to get a hairline touch up. Happy Growing
  10. Great result! I would like to see what his hair looks like without all that gel. Either way it looks terrific.
  11. Are you applying Vitamin E oil to the recipient area? If you are, the oil might be dripping down onto your forehead, thus causing your pores to clog. Many times this will cause acne flare ups. I suggest trying some acne soaps; I personally would stay away from any kind of acne soaps that contain benzoyl peroxide. Try one with salicylic acid. Since the pimples are on your forehead, you shouldn't worry about it effecting your grafts.
  12. If you have oily hair and it looks like sh*t at the end of the day, I would wash it. I workout pretty much everyday and if I don't wash my hair every day, it looks horrible. So I would say wash it every day if it needs it but I wouldn't use a medicated shampoo every day.
  13. TampaMan, Congratulations! Do you have any before and after pictures to share with us? I'm glad to hear how happy you are now.
  14. Every surgeon's post op instructions are different. As long as you followed your surgeon's post op instructions, I believe you'll have a great result!
  15. Yes, I agree with you Phil. He looks much younger and received an age appropriate hairline. Job well done.
  16. Depends on what type of steroids you used. Most steroids stay in your system for up to 10-12 months after your last injection (injectable testosterone, deca, etc). Your past steroid use isn't causing the problem you are currently experiencing. Regarding Propecia, I would continue to use it because it takes several months to see any type of benefit. Good luck.
  17. garet...to answer your first question, yes the hairs lost due to the shed will grow back. However, if miniaturization is present in any one of those hairs, more than likely they will not regrow. I'm not saying they won't regrow if they're miniaturized, but the chances are slim. As far as you saying that Proscar and Rogaine make a minor difference, it's different for everyone. Most people take one or both of these products to help PREVENT further loss. The liklihood of actually regrowing hair with Propecia/Proscar is slim but for some, it does cause regrowth. I say give them a try because sitting their and worrying about it certainly won't help things along. Good luck.
  18. As long as there's no blood, you should be fine. What helped me was to apply Vitamin E oil every day for the first 12 days. What also helped was soaking my entire head in a sink filled with room temperature water for about 10-15 minutes to help loosen the scabs before showering.
  19. HMO, Your hair looks great man. Have you had any friends compliment or take notice to your new hair? You still have a few months of thickening and maturing left and I'm sure it will look even better than it does now. Great result thus far!
  20. Ultimately, it's your head and money so you have the right to make that decision. I just don't agree with it but I do wish you luck in whichever path you may choose.
  21. I changed my mind, the waiting is the toughest part. However, the first 2 weeks is the most stressful/worrisome.
  22. What a great result. The patient definitely looks younger and he still has a few more months of maturing and thickening left.
  23. I would have to say the first 2 weeks after the surgery was the most stressful because you're being overly cautious during this phase, trying not to harm any of the grafts. I started to sleep normally after 3 and a half weeks because I just didn't feel comfortable sleeping on my grafts after 1.5 - 2 weeks. Sleeping for me during this time was tough as well, what helped me was Melatonin and Tylenol PM. The ugly duckling phase was tough, as is the waiting.
