Hi all, thank you for your input.

I will look into Dr. Edward Ball. As with Dr. Arshad, £12,000 is slightly outside of my budget, however I’ll be able to consider this properly after I receive quotes from the others.

Eugenix - as rightly pointed out by @JohnAC71India is not accessible.

@BA-FUEI’ve never taken any hair loss medication ever.

What are your opinions on DR. Demirsoy and Dr. Erdogan?

When I spoke with Maya (Dr Arshads practising manager) she spoke highly of Dr. Erdogan and advised that if I were to go to Turkey I should only go to him.

    Thanks guys

ASMED (Erdogan) is a high price Turkish Hairmill doing up to 8 tech run surgeries every day and they were kicked out of HRN for unethical behavior towards several of their botched patients that are members of HRN.
I don’t understand how someone working in this field can recommend you to go to a high price hairmill like ASMED for that reason alone I would cross out Dr. Arshad.

Demirsoy is half the price of ASMED does just 1 patient ler day and has several real patients posting decent results. His technique is old school and not something I would chose but for the price/quality it’s only beat by the Compreensive&Exclusive package at Eugenix.

My math is correct, because it suits my situation. If I stay abroad it will be in quality accommodation, I won't be treating it like I'm backpacking my way through a hair transplant. There's all other costs that I will have to factor in besides room, flights, and food. As I said there's parking at the airport, fuel in my car amongst other things. My business will be affected if I'm away from home and also if I have to factor in isolating. Basically I know what I will and won't spend.

That's beside the point, I haven't chosen where I am going based on price, it's just happens to be well priced for the UK and an hour's drive from my home.

Whilst it's not easy to compare any two doctors as they all have different styles and surgery is not black and white, I am impressed by what the Hair Dr has achieved and the results his clinic is creating.

I am hearing great things about Dr Ferreira and believe him to be capable, but until he starts creating a portfolio of clientele of what he is producing for all to see, I don't think you can start ranking him above other doctors. I have followed him for a while now, and he literally posts no results. Does that fill me with the confidence to jump on a plane and undergo surgery in a foreign country to save a couple of quid? Not yet. Rolandas had a great result and I'm sure there's more, but terrible clinics have lucky results. He has his own clinic, staff and uses social media, there is no reason for the lack of documented surgeries he is performing.

    Totally understand.

Sadly we won’t see much on HRN because he’s affiliated with Dr. Lorenzo so he can’t promote his work and almost all of the patients from his own clinic don’t take the time to post at HRN or any other forum.

I think when he said he didn’t believe that, he was referring to your comment in regards to Dr BF being in a completely different league to Dr Arshad.

I’m not saying he’s on par with Lorenzo and BF, because I’m not sure how many years experience he has in comparison . . but the results I have seen from Dr A on here don’t categorically put him in a completely different league IMO - a lot of them are patient posted Aswell, which also hold a lot more weight.

I consider Dr. BF to be on a different league because besides the 8 years of experience he has in this field he has been working alongside Dr. Lorenzo for the past 2 years developing his skills.

I don't believe that, we have no affiliation with either, but this forum has double the amount of reviews from Dr. Arshad as they do from Dr. BF. In my opinion, they're comparable. Now, if you're in the UK I think it's a no-brainer to choose Dr. Arshad, you will spend 1,500 in flights, hotels, plus the inconvenience of traveling. That said, if you're in southern Europe, i'd choose Dr. BF for the same reasons.

Melvin the prices I informed for flights and accommodation are accurate as you can see below a Airbnb for 28€/night and a return flight from the UK for 53.99€.

Costs for the Hair Dr is £3 per graft. Bruno Ferreira charges €2.50 which is roughly £2.25 so for me:

    2000 grafts

Bruno £4,500 Vs Hair Dr £6000.

So for some people £1500 would be a deal breaker but for me by the time I factor in flights, accom, food, airport parking etc etc it would leave £1k. I'm a slight hypochondriac so it's a small premium to pay for the peace of mind that if anything does go wrong I will be on English soil and going home to my own bed plus Dr Arshad has proven results so for me it's not a compromise.

    Hope this helps

    Your math is incorrect.

A ryanair return flight from the UK to Porto costs 50£, a decent Airbnb in Espinho will cost you 40£/night and Uber Eats won’t be more than 30£/day so for 4 nights you are looking at 230£ for your flight plus room and board.

Also, you can’t compare Dr. BF with Dr. Arshad because he’s in a whole other league.

I understand that with Covid19 you don’t want to travel but I would advise you to wait and get a better quality HT at a lower price with Dr. BF.

Mind sharing some pictures? I’m interested in doing some BHT next year.

Melvin you can see pictures from 10 days after surgery and it looks clean.

I can show pictures from now but I don’t to go more than 3 days without shaving so there’s nothing to see other than smooth skin.

I will take a picture tomorrow because I haven’t shaved since Sunday.

For those who have had beard hair to scalp transplants, did the FUE on the beard hairs leave any weird scarring along your throat, chin or cheeks??

Please post your experience, whether bad or good

Absolutely nothing as you can check in my thread. It was un-noticeble after just 10 days but I had BHT with one of the best Doctors in the world for BHT (in my opinion).

Thanks @Portugal@25. So, you are choosing Pekiner before Hattingen?

How do I check do I have miniaturised hair? It is for donor right?

If you want FUE then yes I preffer Pekiner.

But you can to the thread where we each are writing out TOP 5 picks and you will see he’s not on my TOP 5.

That would be Konior, Ferreira, Pinto and Nadimi.

You can check the list I made with some of the best Doctors in the worlds.

    Hi,

I am looking for a HT. I am 30y old, did not have any procedure before. Clinics estimated I need around 2500 - 3200 grafts and that I will probably need one more HT to cover back part because in future, I will lose hair there to.

I am struggling to make a decision and here are my list. The main criteria are quality and naturalness, second are time and price. So, to better measure and judge, I would like to ask you what do you think, where I should go for FUE.

    1. Hattingen

    2. Pekiner

    3. Keser

    4. HLC

    Thanks

Hattting is the King when it comes to mega session FUT with over 8000 grafts in just 1 surgery (truly remarkable). But he’s not on my short-list for FUE.

Pekiner is a former HLC Doctor and a great option for BHT + FUE if you sure you don’t have miniaturized hair (or you risk having your surgery aborted after some grafts are removed)

Kesser is a recluse of the international hair Doctors community probably because he doesn’t speak English but what worries me most if the fact he doesn’t use a microscope during surgery which is simply not acceptable and has been the cause of some poor hairlines.

HLC is a safe bet for BHT and FUE.

@Portugal25 I agree that definitely does not look like 3500 grafts. Did Dr. Rahal mention you had donor miniaturization before surgery when he analyzed your hair?

My sides have also thinned and two doctors have confirmed I have slight DUPA in my donor, so it's of particular concern to me.

I had my second HT this year and Pekiner would have aborted my surgery if I had any miniaturized hairs.

It’s strange how it seems my HT didn’t held up and I hope it won’t happen again.

All questions I will be asking @Dr. Bruno Ferreiranext week.

I respectfully disagree, I think it looks closer to 1,500-2,000 grafts.  I believe @Portugal25 when he says his transplanted hair thinned out.  This does happen to guys with aggressive hair loss, especially when they quit the meds.  I think it's good he's back on fin, for the sake of his donor and sides.  When you think it can't get any worse, it can.

@Melvin-Moderator I have to agree @aaron1234 because what I have left in my frontal hairline doesn’t look like 3425 grafts much less when it was rebuilt by a master FUT Doc like Rahal.
I do agree that the hair I had in my front disappeared due to not taking Finasteride but it would be this dramatic change.

  12. I don`t understand the hype with PRP because there aren`t any cientific studies proving it`s effective against hairloss but there are studies proving it`s inefective against hairloss.

I spoke with a Doctor about this and he said he`s losing money by not providing this treatment to his patient because the profit margins are insanely high.
He doesn’t want to bullshit his patients because he says the outcome would be the same as injecting a placebo and the benefits from PRP actually come from sticking a needle in the scalp several times which you can also get using a far less expensive dermaroller.

Do you think you can share what your hairline looked before and now? Do you think it’s the HT that thinned out, or that you’ve lost additional native hair.

100% certain that it’s the HT that thinned out because I had a dense packed hairline and now it’s gone.
Don’t have HD photos but from these 3 facebook photos taken 1 year after Rahal you can see what I had and compare with today.

Hi @Portugal25 What is your consultation with Dr. Bruno Ferreira for?

Going to @Dr. Bruno Ferreira so he can evaluate my remaining scalp donor area and determine the number of grafts needed for a third HT to add overall density to my scalp.
The crown has some gaps and the frontal hairline rebuilt by Dr. Rahal in 2008 has thinned out.

Counting on Dr. Bruno to manage to extract at least 2k grafts from my scalp and maybe also from my beard if necessary.

Interesting, I note the Dr's clinic is in Espinho, which is not quite porto is it? Is that a distinct council from porto central? Should I anticipate any issues in booking a taxi to take me from Porto airport to my accomodation at espinho?  Though I imagine needing to go home after landing at an airport should be a good enough reason to cross council lines even if they are distinct (and I still have my medical forms from the Dr as further proof for my needing to cross borders).

Espinho is another council so your taxi might be pulled over on the way and have to show your Doctor’s note.
Also, don’t use taxi just download Uber and Bolt (cheaper).

Download Uber Eats app because  Uber Eats can deliver up to 01AM while restaurants need to close at 22.30h.

If you are coming from the UK and have a Revolut card you dont need to bring a single euro as you can pay Uber/Bolt and everything else with Revolut and get a way better exchange rate.
