If you can afford it, I think that H&W are the absolute best. They provide the best documentation, almost each of their results are very impressive and they can harvest more grafts than any other clinic. Next to that I would say half the coalition fits into this category such as feller, shapiro, arocha, devroye and MANY more.

I agree completely with windjc. Dr. Bauman unfortunately does not appear intelligent enough to realise that his alleged attempts to make himself credible here, will only serve to dig his own grave. People are simply too educated, and his attempts to folly us are either over the top or suspicious. I wouldn't go to him if I was a NW7 and he was the only HT doc in the world, nor should anyone with a shred of self-preservation.

As a new poster I understand why you would feel this way. Doctors reputation on this forum are based on patients that have gone to see them and photos that they show. I have never been to Dr. Feller or Dr. Shapiro but I would have no problem refering anybody to them. Over the last 10 years I have read many posts and seen many photos about these doctor and know they are world class. If you say you had an amazing transplant I am happy for you. Sometimes its better to read the forum for a bit of time before you post because it is probaly the most educated and intelligent posters on the internet. Just my opinion Lorenzo, you're right. I'll have to admit, I don't get it. If this patient was a previous patient who wanted the final density sure, but this patient pretty much had a full head of hair that most people can't even dream of achieving. Even so, he has now commited himself to subsequent procedures as his hairline recedes. If it does. His choice, but hopefully he knows this.

Hello Spikey Thanks for showing interest. I think that I've payed around $20k in total, though I probably could have spend around 8k if i had went with dr. mohmand from #1. Oh well. However, the pictures you're seeing is of my 2nd HT. I recently had another 1400 to the hairline, which have not grown yet. Being 19 and only having a receeding hairline I suggest that you take propecia. Surgical treatment should be postponed until you're a better candidate. I was diffusely thinned so my hairloss pattern was somewhat established.

If there ever was a fitting description for 'over the top' this is it. It's the same reason it's so transparent. In almost 3 years on these boards, i've seen a handful of negative remarks about dr. B - not a single positive. And all of a sudden we have 2 with in days? Both new posters, with no pics to back it up, sounding 'overhyped'? But never mind that, here's my benefit of the doubt.

I would apply concealers first and foremost. With a buzz like that it would be easy and quick to apply.

Umar is pretty controversial, but most people would probably consider him the surgeon with the most BHT experience. Just remember, for every 1 HT that ends up like that, there may be 5 that fails. We don't know. Also, the density is not that great for 20000 grafts (yes, 20k) which goes to show that the growth rate of BH's is significantly less than regular hair. On top of that, 20000 BHT would be rediculously expensive. And finally, not everyone has the body hair for it.

Let's say a 60 year old NW3 with a full crown and course hair, dense donor area, on who is taking meds and have been experiencing no hair loss for the past 3-4 years. I believe that such a person would be able to pull it off.

It's different, and depends on the donor quality. I've seen people with 3.8k taken out and I could see some clear moth look, but the general public probably wouldn't. In theory, what you say is possible. But it's worth noting that tattoo's have a tendency to fade with time. Indeed, you could laser off the tattoo and create a new one though. I doubt that it will produce a perfect result either way. It's worth noting that I don't think it's a good idea to have HT's with the goal to finish it off with ink, such a thing should probably be the last resort.

It's just the donor scar. I started doing heavy deadlifts and squats about 3 weeks after surgery, that was a mistake that stretched my scar very much. Personally, I would avoid squats and deadlifts for 3 months, and the bench for 2 months. You may also want to restrain yourself with pulldowns and chin ups.

The discussion is not so much about what's a good idea for someone who is limited by donor and age factors, but rather discussing how it would look on someone who has the right age and donor characteristics to achieve a youthful hairline (and get away with it). In cases like that, I do not believe that a 'mature' approach isn't necessarily the end-all approach.

The world is big. There are many doctors that are recommended and in the coalition. If price is a factor, you may consider visiting Pathomvanich in Thailand or Humayun in Pakistan.

I haven't heard from anyone who has had it done on this site, but there are websites dedicated to artists perforcing this procedure, hiding strip scars as well as providing tattoed 'buzz' on your head. From what I've seen the results look somewhat promising, but how will it look in 10 years?

Given that his crown is already NW6, there's a good chance he will end up as NW7. While this is a risk we all take, his is particular big given his age. If you were to fill in the crown as it is now, he might have to fill it in again as soon as 3-5 years because there's now a ring without hair. While we have seen successfully restored NW7's on this board, they were the exception, and common for them was that their NW7 patterns had already been established rather than 'expected'

That's a good point labrat. Londonlad is an exception as he received what, 11000 grafts? However he was very bald afaik. Like you say, a NW4 could achieve 'Depp' look with rigorious use of grafts, given the proper donor and hairloss situations ofc.
