  1. SADbutTRUE I am sorry you are going through this. Stay strong and don't give up. Hair loss is so minor when it comes to this.I lost alot of hair through chemo and radiation that will not come back but I really don't care. I had alot of ups and downs but never gave up. Good luck!
  2. Thanks for the kinds words. I am going to take sometime off and figure it out. I am passionate about helping people with hair loss. Sorry to hear about your mom. I have been diagnosed twice with stage 4 cancer. Last time in my hip and brain. About a year ago I was given little hope but I am still around. I wish your mom the best and tell her to never give up.
  3. After consideration I have decided to close my account and no longer post on HTN. As many of you know I am recovering from the second cancer diagnosis and do not need any negativity in my life anymore. I opened my account in 2003 and have posted over 1000 posts. My intentions were to help posters with my opinion and give my advise. I have never been paid to post or asked to post. I fight hard for this website because I believe in it and seen alot negativity in the transplant industry. I want to thank the moderator, Bill and Pat for having this website that educated people and allows them to make the right decision. I have never hid my affiliations with Hasson and Wong even though it is in a translation capacity. I do not need to be accused of being paid to post or being biased.I don't need my integrity challenged. My posts in the past have almost nothing to do with Hasson and Wong. .I was there to help and it was my pleasure to do so. I answer alot of email from people as well as private message.. I will seize to do so in the future. Thank to everyone and I wish everyone good luck in making the right decision..
  4. Hang them on your Christmas tree, this would be the most suitable use for it.
  5. I respect the fact he doesn't want to say who it is. But in his past posts from a few years ago it is stated. This was written in the past So I do not think this result is surprising. I do not know how this is possible? With 13 years experience I think for 2000 grafts the would say the average time is about 6-8 hours. Crazy something doesnt make sense
  6. I do not think Dr. K makes promises that he can achieve more than he can. I think he works in his comfort zone. I rather deal with a doctor that deals within his comfort zone than with a doctor that tries to do too much and flips the coin. Having said that I do not think you will see huge transformations from him.
  7. Now I remember him. He had posters that had nothing to gain told him the truth and he still proceeded . I think his desperation for new hair overshadowed realty. I hope he make the right decision. .
  8. Looking at your photos you are heading toward NW7 and being so young with aggressive hairloss does not make you a candidate. Based on your pictures you could be making life changing decision and unfortunately to the negative. DO NOT DO IT!!! Even if you lose some money it is nothing compared to the possibility of many years or lifetime of agony. Walk away with what today appears to be a loss but it will be the best decision of your life and the best.
  9. I agree. Personally no disrespect to Turkey or any doctors there I would not go there now.
  10. Both do great work, so you have chosen two great doctors. How many grafts were you recommended?
  11. I never said the result would not be great. I meant nobody can or should not guarantee that it will not fade quickly or change colors. Everyone skins reacts differently even if it is only a small percentage. I helped an italian patient that told me he had SMP 3 months earlier. I saw it and he said it completely disappears within 4-6 weeks. His friend who had it done right after him it still looks great after 3 months. Why is this? Is it because they did it differently or his skin absorbed it quicker. Both had SMP from same tech, same instrument, same ink, two hours apart on both days. Thanks. I recently had chemo and radiation and my hair fell out. All that remained was the SMP dots, because this was my second case of cancer last time I lost my hair I SMP over my head. 3 years later it was still all there. Every time I met a new nurse or doctor they said the same thing. You are lucky your hair didn't all fall out or you have a thick head of hair. When I told them it was tattooing none of them could believe it.
  12. Hairing is caring; I am not saying I agree or disagree with you but you seem to have a lot of knowledge about SMP. Why is this? What is your agenda? From what I have seen if SMP is done right with the right conditions it looks great. But even the best SMP can fade within months or I have seen it change colour with time. This can happen if with the best SMP techs using the best technique and the best ink. I had SMP and it looks great and 4 years later it is still there. I am not even sure if it has faded. But due to my own personal story I would never do it again and wish I never did.
  13. Arochahair rep I am sorry if I missed if before but what is your name and do you have a hair transplant? Thank you for the reply. In my guess its about 12-15. Seeing is believing and as I stated before they were not great results. This is important. I was sick during this time and never asked. Personally I am happy it is gone. We are all entitled to our opinion. Yes this is a good result. As I stated earlier I would love to see results from unbiased posters. I think all the results I have seen on the forum are from doctors and not patients Maybe I am wrong but can you find a poster that research on this site and said I have decided to have ARTAS? I think any new posters that researched this site would prefer manual FUE. I can only base my opinion on what I have seen. Nothing personal I think Dr. Arocha is a great doctor but cant picture a educated poster saying I want FUE via ARTAS.
  14. You know you can have a transplant using someone else hair. There is a good chance it will all growth as long as you take the drugs. Anti rejection drugs amongst other drugs. You will have more hair but your liver and kidney will have problems. Your blood counts will continue to drop amongst other problems but really no big deal all in the name of hair.
  15. At the end you do what you want to do. You want to compare finasteride to Jakafi? I am not a doctor and just gave my opinion. Good luck whatever you decide.
  16. I fully agree with alot of what this video states. Hairoptions If I had a choice between getting ARTAS for free or paying even $20 a graft for manual, I rather pay. I have been around forum for over 14 years and still receive many email from people asking me for my advice. I have heard (not seen many but some in photos) about robot machine from this people that email and the majority is negative.
  17. During my BMT I seen patients on Jakafi and its not pleasant. You honestly would risk low blood count and possible of bad infections. Low blood counts mean you would need an transfusion. With respect you are insane to use this for hairloss. Any doctor that would prescribe this to you should lose his license. Jakafi can cause serious side effects, including: Low blood counts: Jakafi® (ruxolitinib) may cause your platelet, red blood cell, or white blood cell counts to be lowered. If you develop bleeding, stop taking Jakafi and call your healthcare provider. Your healthcare provider will perform blood tests to check your blood counts before you start Jakafi and regularly during your treatment. Your healthcare provider may change your dose of Jakafi or stop your treatment based on the results of your blood tests. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you develop or have worsening symptoms such as unusual bleeding, bruising, tiredness, shortness of breath, or a fever. Infection: You may be at risk for developing a serious infection during treatment with Jakafi. Tell your healthcare provider if you develop any of the following symptoms of infection: chills, nausea, vomiting, aches, weakness, fever, painful skin rash or blisters. Skin cancers: Some people who take Jakafi have developed certain types of non-melanoma skin cancers. Tell your healthcare provider if you develop any new or changing skin lesions. Increases in cholesterol: You may have changes in your blood cholesterol levels. Your healthcare provider will do blood tests to check your cholesterol levels during your treatment with Jakafi. The most common side effects of Jakafi include: low platelet count, low red blood cell counts, bruising, dizziness, headache. These are not all the possible side effects of Jakafi. Ask your pharmacist or healthcare provider for more information. Tell your healthcare provider about any side effect that bothers you or that does not go away. Before taking Jakafi, tell your healthcare provider about: all the medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are taking and all your medical conditions, including if you have an infection, have or had tuberculosis (TB) or have been in close contact with someone who has TB, have or had hepatitis B, have or had liver or kidney problems, are on dialysis, had skin cancer, or have any other medical condition. Take Jakafi exactly as your healthcare provider tells you. Do not change your dose or stop taking Jakafi without first talking to your healthcare provider. Do not drink grapefruit juice while on Jakafi.
  18. I have met a lot of patients that have had ARTAS and NEOGRAFT. I wish more posters would show results from the machines rather than the clinic. Just like PRP you rarely see any unbiased patient posting before and after about their results. Its obvious the the ARTAS is a much better machine. I think the result has a lot to do with a doctors skill and a patients donor. Although even though Hasson and Wong had it one time I would never have surgery using a robot. I do not think they ever used it on patient but I guess after seeing some of the patient results from other clinic they decided not to use it. I was sick during this time and never asked. The results that I have seen (no recommended doctors) were horrible and the donor was destroyed for a small number of grafts. It would nice to hear many unbiased patient opinion on the ARTAS machine I hope cloning or multiplication come soon because its so sad to tell someone that either cannot have surgery due to donor or to having a bad surgery their is nothing you can do for them. I think what is some what new is topical finasteride. This is great for side effects and patients that are concerned. I know the italian patients that are using it are very happy. They usually get it from the pharmacy in Milan. I credit Hasson and Wong for referring some patients to the topical form without trying to sell it themselves at a profit. I know some other clinics sell it at a huge mark up. This is my opinion.
  19. Looks right on track so far. Now its time to be patient, easier said than done.
  20. Shampoo thanks for the support. Hair there sorry I misunderstood your post. For me it was 4am and I am still chemo dumb. I took down the post and agree with the FDA comments.
  21. Unfortunately I hear a lot of horror stories, all in the name of money. Its disgusting how any doctor can do a hair transplant with no additional schooling or training. These companies with robotic machines will sell it to almost any doctor regardless of there skill and knowledge. The Neograft results I have seen in the clinic are horrible and alot of donor was damaged during the process. This could be a combination of the doctors skill and the machine.
  22. I remember an Italian patient I met was at the clinic for repair. He had his first surgery in Turkey (not a recommended doctor). Lucky for him unlike alot of patients that had surgery in Turkey he was able to be repaired. Biggest issue with repairing these patients is that the donor is destroyed and there is no donor left. Some receive up 5000 grafts for one price but either the grafts didnt grow or it is very unnatural. So when I met him I asked him where he went and which doctor. He told me a funny but scary story. During his surgery there was a tech that spoke italian (lived in Rome for two years he said) and he started a converstation with her. He asked her how long have you been working at the clinic. She said truthfully I started today. She explained she was with a friend having coffee and a man approached her and asked her if she wanted a job. They took her to the clinic and trained her for about 30-45 minutes and had her perform surgery with another tech using a motorized handheld FUE remover. She said she was leaving at the end of the day because she has no idea what she is doing and if I remember correctly was getting paid about 1-2 euros an hour. Again this is what the patient told me.
  23. I assume you are going to Turkey or India for your transplant. I think it would be easier to get people opinions if you name the doctors.
