  1. Seems to me you may have been just going thru some seasonal shedding. Im happy for you though that propecia has been working.
  2. Bill, You learn something new everyday! The larger picture definatley shows the true result and looks alot better. Thanks!!
  3. I agree that it doesnt seem that as if this gentleman needed a HT, but a pictures ONLY worth a thousand words and doesnt always describe the amount of loss a patient has. Sometimes it takes 2 thousand words. Good job and Im jealous. LOL!
  4. Besides the ear , I can not tell that the area around the ear was burned at all. This is a great tranformation and I bet she is just thrilled with the outcome. Great job Dr. Berrera!!
  5. B-E-A-utiful !!!! This gentleman looks 15 years younger. Kudos to SMG and to you to Janna!!
  6. Dr. P, I 100% without a doubt believe there is no trickery here. Im just saying that it looks like concealer. Ive also said this numerous other times with alot of top down pics. For some reason "and maybe it's do to the illusion factor" alot of cameras can make hair look wierd in top down pics. I do appologize if I've offended you. I believe you to be a great surgeon and 100% trust worthy.
  7. I must emphasize that I dont believe that there is any trickery here, however in the after pics it does appear that the patient is wearing concealer. It does look good and maybe its just the pictures but it does appear that a concealer was used.
  8. as usual Dr. Cooley this is a phenomanel result. This guy must be over the moon with his results. IMO he needs no more work, but anything above and beyond what you've done for him will be just more icing on the cake. Good for him!!!
  9. Bill Nye the science guy!!! LOL..Great analogy. So with your above statment it just cements my opinion on this subject. Maybe a doctor with more knowledge on the subject will chime in here and give us some facts????
  10. hdude, while you and I are in disagreement on this subject I respect your opinion and would hope you can respect mine. I appologize for any "low blows" you recieved on my behalf.
  11. Thats all I was trying to say Bill!! Are we atleast in agreement that working out increases testosterone? And if so than testosterone increases DHT levels correct? A person with the MPB gene has incresed levels of DHT correct? MPB gene + working out= testosterone= elevated DHT= possible accelerated hair loss IMO.
  12. Are you saying the world isnt flat? Since when? I just re-read my posts and NO WHERE did I say that I was right and you were wrong. I was stating an opinion. BTW Im happy that your dad is a doctor. That means YOU have all the right answers.Just like my PCP. I'll make sure I check with you next time I have a life or death issue. Go talk to your dad now and I'll wait for your response.
  13. So hdude46 you must either be a doctor or have talked to every doctor? Either way I think you should disclose this! So lets get this straight! There are 168 hours in a week. You work out 5 days a week which can elevate your testosterone while your working out and also 2 hours or so after you work out. So roughly 3 hours a day X 5 days a week = 15 hours a week with extra elevated testosterone on top of the extra elevated testosterone a man with MPB has anyways. So does this mean you can garauntee that lifting weights absolutly will not accelerate hairloss in men that have the MPB gene? I must admit that these are my own opinions however it does seem that you can not rule out the fact that extra testosterone can accelerate hairloss.
  14. So you must lift weights and understand what weight lifting does to testosterone levels then huh? What I said is that I think you have to be predisposed to MPB "in your genes" in order for lifting weights to cause hair loss. I guess Im rediculous then, because I believe that lifting weights and exercising rigerously does have an effect on testosterone levels and therfore can cause excellerated hairloss in people who are destined for MPB.
  15. I have the same issue. I am the only one in my family that lifts weights and also the only one that is losing my hair... I have to say though that being in good physical shape would superceed being in bad shape and having a full head of hair. I also think that you have to be predisposed "have the gene" to MPB to actually lose hair do to lifting weights.
  16. I know Im going to sound Cli'che but why dont you try buzzing your hair down to see what it would look like? Lots of guys do that now and IMO its a good look. I in fact buzz my hair down and although I didnt like it at first now I get compliments saying "you look good shaved down". The only thing that bothers me now is the 8 inch scar on the back of my head. And boy I'll tell you it bothers me more than losing my hair ever did. You are young and chances are you will end up a high NW level so HT's should be out of the realm for you any ways. I started losing my hair at 21 and had a HT at 27 thinking it would be the greatest thing in the world. Well I was wrong and now that I am older and wiser to what HT's can do for you I would never reccommend 1 to any one under 30. Just my opinion!
  17. Seems you need a little more education bud! Those bailouts were put in place by the Bush administration. FYI I doubt Obama reads this forum. Yes Obama is still a bum but you cant blame him for everything.
  18. Im really sorry to see you have less than optimal results. I have been in your shoes. I think you first need to determine whether this is physiology or physician. I am not 100% sure how you would go about doing that ,but maybe start with a dermatologist. I would hazzard a guess that a result of this magnitude may be a future predictor of proceeding surgeries if it is indeed physiology. 2nd I dont know much about Dr. Siporin, but from what I've seen of his work is steller so if he is indeed offering a discounted or free repair your financial situation might lean you that way. I MUST STRESS though that you should never let finances or location determine which surgeon you choose. Good luck Cole!!
  19. Great job Dr. K!!, This gentleman seemed to have all the right characteristics from the pictures. Coarse curly hair and a good donar area along with a gifted surgeon and a top notch result. Cant ask for much more than that.
  20. hairthere, We could go on arguing forever about this subject. Bottom line is SJD should by now be getting the picture that this is not some one and done miracle procedure and if he chooses to have it done he will have to live with the concequenses "good or bad" for the rest of his life. SJD 25 is a mere blip on the life radar. Please do your homework and choose wisely. Good luck!!!
