  1. 57 and chris Rooney had his transplant in April 2011 , last year , so almost 10 months post op , the results from now are proberbly going to be the most accurate . Finding a close up pic , even with HD tv is proving hard , and to prove either way about concealer is going to be difficult . I have searched for some pics from last nights game , I found one close up , but unfortinatly I couldn't upload them here due to copy right , bab ! Here is a link though Comeback kings Man Utd stun Chelsea in six-goal thriller | Premier League News | The Week UK This shows me Rooney has had a very HT flattering hair cut from a professional , this suits him and he should be happy , From the side any decent HT will look better than from the top , even from the front , the results look good , but I am still hessitant about the his use of concealers . Even from all the pics I have searched from the match , I'm undecided and it's very inconclusive evidence about his results or the use of concealers anymore , I say anymore because I'm convinced Rooney started out wearing concealer , the below pics confirm it for me . The first pic was taken about November 2011 , clearly showing the tell tale different block colour of concealer on top of Rooneys 7 month old HT . This pic was taken later in December 2011 , maybe an unflatering picture ?? , but it certainly looks thinner than the November pic , I feel this is proberbly when rooney decided to stop using concealer . So , for me the jury is still out , I have seen a few FUE results with my own eyes , and I know FUE has it's place , however the few results I have seen in person , still lead me to believe FUT or strip will give you a more consistant and better yeald , so if you want to have very short hair and reduce the look of losing your face framing hairline , FUE will work for you , however I feel if you want to have your hair a little longer , easily covering your scar , then I still feel FUT has it's advantages for less grafts trauma and better yeald . I know we would all like FUE to be perfect and we would all like to have FUE but I feel it still has limitations , but then so does FUT ,ultimatly the decision has to come down to personal goals and top surgeons recomendations . As for rooney ,I think he started with the use of concealer as his results grew , then after 8 months did away with it , last night he showed off a HT flattering hair cut , but I still need more evidence before I beleive Rooney has had the "best FUE result ever " . I'll hold judgement yet and just keep a quiet eye on him hahaha . I still have respect for him coming out , however the ciniclal part of me is suspicious that may have been in his contract for his surgery , clinic promotion . richie
  2. 57 post some pics , I can't find any online of yesterdays match yet I feel rooney was deffo wearing concealer at first , as the time line for regrowth was simply impossible to look that thick . I havn't seen any new recent close up pics to be able to tell now though . cheers bud richie
  3. Got to echo speadlocks on this , spex was the most honest guy I met during my reasearch period , he just told it how it was and what was realistically achievable . Genuine guy and I would recomend anybody going down the HT road to speak to him before deciding to proceed ant further . richie
  4. F**k me mate you're doing your own head in ! Take it or don't it's up to you at the end of the day , , if you get sides then stop talking it and shave your head , oh and stop reading everything on the bloody internet , you'll seriously start to IMAGINE THE SIDES THEN SUFFER ONE FLOP ON THROUGH YOUR OWN ANXIETY AND BLAME THE MEDS ! Dude ,calm the down and listen ..... I have taken finasteride since 2006 , firstly 1.25mgs daily , then 1mg daily , now 0.8 mgs daily , without anymore hairloss . I have suffered no sexual sides , no loss of libido and no loss of erections , I wank everyday , I have a hot girl , I have sex a couple of times a week . Due to wanting a family , I have recently had my sperm , testosterone and thyriod checked , all where above average , sperm count 140 million , between 20-200 million is normal , my thyriod is normal , my testosterone was well within the perameters of normal . My sperm got more watery when I started finasteride , my girl said it DID taste different , and it's more runny , so what ? I also lost some trouble some thick dark hairs that had started growing on my back , arms and hands around the same time I started to notice my hair on my head falling out , but really who the fuck wants a hairy back and a bald head ? I have also had my prostate glad checked , it is fine , as it should be at my age . Finasteride is also used for reducing enlarged prostrates , to stop them cracking which can lead to cancer , a side effect of this , is reduced DHT and regrowth of hair in balding men . Spanker ( snigger at the appropriate online name hahaha ) is absolutly right , you are making this into far more of a big deal than it has to be , take or don't take it , your choice , your hair . Just make sure if you have any sides that they are NOT from your over active mind ! Be really really honest with yourself and decide whether any sides are physical or mental , but you'll be fine , watery sperm and alot more hair , easy . Pm me if you want my number and I'll talk to you over the phone bud , but calm down , freaking out won't help anybody ! richie
  5. Hi Ukresponder has given you some great advice , please read it all and take it in . richie
  6. Hi Sound to me as if you are doing everything right , you've obviously taken in alot of useful info in your time lurking hahaha . Good things consistantly come out of North America , Canada and now some good work is coming from Belgium . I would say you are agood candidate for a tramsplant , based on age , loss , stability of loss and you have researched for years and taken in all you have read and viewed . Search the name tommytwo , sure it was this forum he was on , anyway it's quite an old result , 2006 , but exactly the same loss as yourself . well done bud , can't fault your research . richie
  7. hairthere Looking great and I will you keep us up to date as it grows out , you are truly a veteran now , 4 hts and without meds ! good luck bud richie
  8. Mate even before entering into the hair transplant mine field , you really should have done some more research , you should already know the answers to these questions ! Not all hair transplant surgeons shave the recipiant site , there is a differing opinion between surgeons as to the pros and cons for shaving down . Dr Feller shaves down the recipiant area, as he feels this gives him more control over avoiding disectioning any exsisting hair follicals and avoiding shock loss , he also feels it gives him more insight into where the recipiant meets the exsisting unshaved areas . Some surgeons prefare not to shave down and some will not shave down if the patient is 100% against it . So it really depends on your surgeon , who you should have really reaserched very well before signing up for hair transplant surgery ! Again the answer to you second question depends of the philosophy of your surgeon , by this I mean some surgeons transplant longer hair with the folical to show the patient a sneak preview of how they will look in 12 months time , the hair , however still sheds between 2-4 weeks after your transplant and then takes between 3-4 months before starting to regrow . Most top surgeons tranplant the folical with the hair still attached at around 6-10mm in length , this helps the technicians to have greater control over the folical placement , orientation , depth and direction , all this helps match your exsisting hair for the most natural result . But you would have known all this and the answers to your questions if you had carried out many months of research into your surgeon to see if you are going to recieve the best treatment and results . Good luck bud , i hope this infomation helps to put your mind at ease . richie
  9. Send some pics today to the Belgium , North American and Canadian clinics and have an online consultations , then ............ If you chose to go with one of them you could jump on the train to London , Euro star to France , then train into Belgium . Or drive your car From Scotland to the Euro tunnel , it takes 12 hours to get to Folkstone , Euro Tunnel takes 45 mins , then drive another 100 miles to Belgium , takes four hours , and will cost 350 quid in fuel plus ?45 return for the tunnel crossing , 3500 quid left for a transplant . Or drive to Manchester from Scotland 4 hours an 75 quid in fuel , fly to Newark airport New York and stay for four days in New york for 550 quid and still have 3300 quid for a transplant with Dr Feller . Or drive to London 150 quid in fuel , fly from Heathrow to Canada , stay in Canada , all for 700 qiud and still have just over 3000 quid left for a transplant with Hasson and Wong . You can make this as easy or as hard as you want bud , but just work out the best option to go with one of the best surgeons you can find , and believe me not one of them is in the UK . If you send you pics for an online consult today , then spend every waking hour trawling the internet for information , chose wisely from only a handful of the worlds best HT surgeons , book within the next two months your HT would have been done for over 12 months by the time you have your 40th , plenty of time for most of the growth to have taken place . I hope this makes you think and gives you some ideas bud . richie
  10. And maybe you can't find any guys who have used these clinics because they are very new and don't have any fully grown out results yet , Just a thought richie
  11. Bud , you have to listen to chrisdav , if you don't heed his warning you will make the same old mistakes loads have made in the past . Hair surgery requires a MASSIVE degree of artistry and this is where the average surgeon just wouldn't cut the mustard , you need a pro , who specializes is hair transplantation only , or your head will end up a mess . Skill in removing a strip or follical , including depth of cut , extraction of the grafts with torsion and tension , avoidence of your scalp nerves and neatness of suture or staples closure including tricoscopic closure , this is where the scar heals with hairs growing along it to disguise the scar . Slit technique , this includes angle , natural swirl , direction and depth . Implantation skill , inserting the follical at a specific depth , angle and orientation , single grafts in the correct , most natural way . All these things help healing time , naturalness , undetectability , look , growth , and these things cannot be achieved by any old surgeon at any old clinic !!!! . I have researched all this hair loss bull shit since 2005 , being a member on here and other hairloss forums since 2007 , I have seen loads of people make this stupid mistake , rush rush rush ,and think a hair transplant is like all cosmetic surgery , tit job , face lift etc etc . But it isn't , skill , artistry and COMPASSION will result is a top , natural , and ultimatly undectable hair transplant . The ziering chain is nothing more than a hair mill , these guys will take your money and not give a shit , look at the way the UK surgeons reacted over the recent PIP breast implant scare , the rest of the world offered free surgery to remove the dodgy implants , the UK told the victims to pay for it themselves and refused to accept the risk , the Transform group where part of this , another surgery mill !!!! Ziering clinic is bull shit , just trading on zierings name !!! , I would never recomend any UK hair transplant surgeon , and I had consults at the " alledged " top two , so I know what I'm talking about ! Ultimatly , it's your head , but I know when it was my head I wanted the best surgeon I could find after researching EVERYWHERE FOR INFO . Forget ziering , forget limiting yourself to Scotland only , and spend time researching , because if you get this wrong you will only have yourself to blame . I hope you listen and take on board everything you learn from this day forward about the pitfalls of hair transplantation . Do not be a victim . Get researching and see through the bull ! richie
  12. Hi bud Glad the girlfriend came through , I've often seen guys panic about removing the staples , especially if they have travelled from the UK , but it really is easy . Well done and well done to the girlfriend hahahaah richie
  13. Hang in there bud , believe me the best bit is yet to come , looking great so far Just hang in there ! richie
  14. Like chrisdav has said Both docs are very good at FUE , Dr Lindsey is showing loads new of online results lately and is cheaper then Dr Feller . I would surgest you consult with both bud richie
  15. Hi bud My name is richie , I'm from the UK and I'm a veteran of two hair transplants with Dr Feller in New York and I'm very happy so far . Real quick because I'm just going out ! hahaha FUT and FUE both have good points and bad points , but if you need alot of grafts FUT is the way to go . After years of research , for me , the best transplant surgeons are in North America , canada , and some good work coming from begium recently . I would not recomend anybody in the UK or London , by all means consult but don't rush into anything until you have researched very well . Ziering does not perfrom your transplant , any old doctor will , it's justa clinin trading on his name , Jason Gardener paid 22,000 pounds for ziering to work on him personally , this is bad , research well and don't sign up for anything at your consult . Talk more later richie
  16. Any shaven original native non-transpalnted hair will start to grow back immediatly . Your transplanted grafts will not start to grow until after atleast 3-4 months after your transplanted hairs have fallen out . After one month only your native original non tranplanted hair will have started to grow back , expect up to 12mm of growth . You will have NO growth from you transplanted grafts until after 3-4 months . I hope that is clear enough . richie
  17. Hi , orlhair1 is spot on On the average guy , the transplanted grafts will shed ( fall out ) between 2-4 weeks after your surgery , this is true . Again on average most of your transplanted hairs will fall out , around 90% . On average your transplanted hair will not grow much between post op to 4 months , after 3- 4 months your transplanted grafts will start to grow , starting with aproximatly one third , then after a few more months another third and finally muturing at around 12 months . This is all based on the average guy with a normaly accepted time frame . For the grafts to grow upto 3 inches after surgey , hair grows approximatly 1/2 an inch per month , so you'll be looking at 6 months of growth time plus the first three months of non-growth time , so 9 months in total . You'll need atleast a month to look and feel normal after surgery , but you will still have short exsisting native hair regrow from before your surgery , the FUT scar heals after about two weeks and by then most of your scabs will have fallen off and you will have begun to shed , the scar and recipiant site will look red for between 1 month and 6 months depending on how you heal personally . Try not to panic , that won't help your state of mind or healing process . I hope that helps bud richie
  18. spreadlocks awesome photos bud ! you are looking in perfect condition for day 12 , clean , most of the scabs will be well on there way to falling off . that will be a great hairline in 12 month , well done the pants part starts from now , the dreaded shed ........ when removing the staples , take it easy and sit in the bath and soak the donor staples well , get your skin nice and soft , don't drink achohol or take pain killers before , this thins your blood and make you bleed more ... then removed 10 -15 staples at a time till it pinches a little , then soak again , tell who ever is removing the staples not to be shy or slow , be firm and swift . stay calm and put the two prongs of the tool under the stable and let the single prong clamp down from the top and steadly BEND the staple out out your skin , it may bleed a little but don't worry . The staple will look like the letter M when removed correctly , good luck , on my blog is a step by step guild to removal for you to look at ...... richie
  19. Ran Try not to panic , that won't help , from you new photos , you look to be in much better shape now and have healed ok . You grafts will proberbly grow fine , but you will find 2500 grafts doesn't cover enough and you may want to have another hair transplant in years to come . I would just wash your scalp as normal now and as long as the nizoral shampoo doesn't irritate your scalp , then it shouldn't do any harm , still with taking 1mg finasteride every day . Your new grafts will start to grow after approximatly 3- 4 months after shedding and will continue to mature for upto 12 -18 months , after that you are all done . I hope that helps you not to worry bud richie
  20. Ran have you any up to date photographs for us to look at Things may not look so bad now , richie
  21. consult with Dr Feller, he did both my HTs and I've been very happy so far Fellermedical.com good luck richie
  22. Cheers england This is a photo taken of my own transplant by Dr Feller , these hairs are mostly grafts with some of my exsisiting hair growing through , it was taken 13 days post op , hardly any scabs , very little redness , single hairs implanted up to 1cm into my hairline with only two's after that and with the correct orientation to my exsisting hairs . I hope this helps you understand where I am comming from , sorry bud . richie
  23. Hi My reply to you will proberbly make you worry less about some things but unfortinatly may make you more aware of other issues . I feel maybe you didn't do much research about hair transplants and failed to find out what can be achieved with a world class hair transplant surgeon . You donor looks , from your photograph , to be taken from the opcipital bumb , this is usually accepted where the exsisiting hair will least likely be affected by dht , this means your grafts will proberbly grow and won't fall out in years to come . I can see that your scar is rough and a bit wide , but atleast it has healed for you . However you are deffinatly a norwood 7 which , as a rule of thumb for graft count needs atleast 7000 grafts to provide coverage on such a large area , unfortinatly , the 2500 grafts you have had implanted will not provide such coverage , maybe only giving you a few spaced apart grafts all over your scalp , basically you're 4500 grafts minimun short of full coverage . The grafts have been placed in a very uniformed lined up type way ,and unfortinatly this will exagerate the sparce placement , also I noticed from your photographs that the grafts have also been implanted straight up , this will not follow the natural orientation of any exsisiting hairs , again this may exagerate the lined up , sparce placement , this will not really compliment your hair transplant . Also there looks to be a number of multy hair grafts right up to your hairline , this will look "pluggy" and not natural . I'm very sorry for being this honest , I feel rotten , but you have asked for opinions and I'm a veteran of two HT's now with one of the worlds best hair transplant surgeons , and I know what looks natural and what doesn't . Basically your transplanted hair growing back is the least your issues , it will proberbly grow just fine , however it will be sparce , thin , look unatural and pluggy and you may have to use some type of concealer to help your look . Carry on with the meds , and just wash it normaly now . Oh and don't ever be tempted to go back to this clown doctor again , for your own sake . Good luck Richie
  24. Hi guys and thanks . The healing seems to be going alot quicker this time around ,less tender and redness , all with just rest and water and some hair and nail vitamins to speed up the growth . Newby , I sent a cheque to UKFinasteride and recieved my supply in 8 days , very easy and quick considering the cheque had to clear ,I filled in the online order form and emailed the company telling them i was sending a cheque , the company emailed me back twice , once to let me know when the order was processed and once when it was sent out too . I hope that helps richie
