  1. A hair piece wasn't for me, but everyone has their own goals and expectations, so if it works for you then that's great.
  2. I tried to upload a short comb through video, but it seems we can't upload videos here? I took a screenshot from it and posted that here, so sorry about the low resolution. The 2nd picture is the same except with the area marked that is all beard hair. That area is 100% beard hair as I was completely shiny bald in the lower crown.
  3. 3000 grafts is possible to get from the beard if you have a thick beard for it. Some people don't have much beard hair at all while others have enough beard hair to get more than 3000 grafts. It all depends on how your beard is.
  4. The post said he had it done in mid July. It's now September 24, so that's only 2 months. It's not unusual for some numbness and dull pain to persist at 2 months.
  5. I think you should leave it alone. You don't have enough loss in the temporal peaks to take the chance of it being noticeable since you plan to keep it very short.
  6. Congratulations on getting married. I didn't know you were engaged. You have plenty of beard hair to use and since you have a thin base of scalp transplanted hair on your crown, it should all blend in together very nicely. Transplanted beard hair starts growing out a bit more kinky than scalp transplanted hair, but it eventually softens up a lot. It just takes a bit longer. Scalp transplanted hair takes maybe 18 months to really get that softness back, but beard hair will take another 6 months to a year longer to get to the same level. Good luck with both the marriage and the next hair transplant!
  7. In a case like yours, whether you can get a decent look or not really depends on how much beard and chest hair you have. If you are clean shaven then let your beard hair grow for a few days and post a picture of the beard, especially under the chin area as that is the best place to take hair from as it has the lowest possibility of any scars showing. You don't want to take from the cheek area unless you really have to in order to get enough grafts. I've had over 5300 body hair grafts used with nearly 2400 from the beard and almost 3000 from my chest. If you can get numbers like that then you may be a good candidate for using body hair with only a small amount of scalp grafts to get a nice result.
  8. They were not placed at an angle. Eyebrows need to be implanted at an extreme angle facing outward, so that they almost lay against the skin. To fix it you will need to have them punched out and re-transplanted at a proper angle. This will probably take several minor sessions to do because you can't extract a graft and then reinsert it at a different angle at the same location.
  9. Just look for a credit card offer with 0% interest for 12 to 18 months and apply for the card.
  10. Give them 1500 up front now as a deposit (25% down payment). That will lessen any difference in price as the remaining amount owed at the time of surgery will only be 4500.
  11. I don't know the reason you are on TRT, but if you are able to lower the dose a bit it may help you retain what you still have. Also it looks like you may be getting some thinning all over, so I'm wondering if that's also due to taking TRT. I'd lower the dose if possible and get on finisteride or dutasteride to try to get some improvement.
  12. How long ago was the graft removal done? Usually if it's only a small amount punched out and if they aren't too much lower than the new hairline they will heal enough to not be noticeable unless someone is really looking for them. If the procedure wasn't that long ago then I suggest just waiting a while to see how much it will heal.
  13. How is the growth coming along? Could you just be stressing about the growth or lack of it? It's tough to wait so long to see results. Could it be just anxiety about the whole thing? I'm not a Dr. Just tossing out some possibilities ??
  14. You haven't done anything (none of the things you mentioned) to mess it up. You just have to wait. It's not easy, but we all have to wait 6 months or so and it's not a fun time for anyone. Hang in there. We've all been through it.
  15. It should smooth out more over time. If you see some improvement since last month then it's on the right track even if it's only been minor improvement so far. Check again in another month. In any event, once the hair grows in, any minor bumps or indents probably won't be noticed anyway because your hair will be covering it. The only issue at that point is if you have bumps or indents right along the hairline because those may be noticeable, so that's the only area I'd be concerned about. If they aren't on the front row of hairs then it shouldn't really be an issue in the long run. I'm actually more concerned about the donor area. 1.25mm seems like a rather large punch size for these days. How is the donor looking?
  16. I think there are several reasons why you see a lot of men comb their hair back after a transplant. 1. It seems to be a popular hair style these days even in men who haven't had a hair transplant, so you're going to have more men using that style after a hair transplant. 2. A lot of men want to show off their new hairline. They don't have to spend an hour trying to style it just right to cover their receding hair and it seems like kind of a waste to not show off the fact that you do actually have a great hairline now. 3. Sometimes the hairline becomes the main focus of the transplant because "that's what everyone sees" and you end up with a nice band of hair in front, but some thinness behind it and you end up with getting the best look if you comb it back to cover the mid scalp thinning. 4. Growing hair long and combing it back can help cover a thin or bald crown that hasn't been transplanted or maybe only transplanted very thinly. With all that, there is really no reason why you can't pull off other styles depending on how much hair you have. Try different styling options and pick what you like.
  17. At 4 months you should be just starting to see some growth. Expecting to have most of the growth already is not realistic. Not wanting to wait is not a reason to get more work done so soon. You need to wait.
  18. Looks very good at this early stage. You need to wait at least 6 months (sometimes longer) for the donor area to fully recover.
  19. The problem with trying to come up with an average is that there is a large range and it all depends on each persons hair type and amount of hair loss. Some people will have a maximum of 3000 grafts that can be taken while others will have 10,000. The only way to know how many there are for you is to have an in person consultation with a qualified Dr. Even then you will not get a definite answer. Everyones hair changes over the years. The amount of estimated grafts you have available today may be more than you will have in 10 or 15 years.
  20. It looks like he still has a lot of beard grafts left to use. With one more session to thicken everything up, this could be an extremely amazing transformation.
  21. As aaron1234 was saying, if the hair on the sides and back (the donor area) is wavy like the front is then the transplanted hair will be wavy as well.
  22. At a little past 5 weeks you are probably past losing any more from shock loss. Now you just have to wait a few months for it all to grow back in. It's called the ugly duckling stage for a reason.
