  1. Welcome to the forums. Thanks for posting about your experience. Please keep us updated on the progress over the next months. I like that you stayed for several days and went to the clinic each day for a wash and check. I think that's a smart thing to do.
  2. I like how he scattered the punch outs rather than punching out a straight line across. This is going to look very natural.
  3. Yes. Finasteride is good to start with. You can also try Minoxidil. If you just started thinning or receding then the meds may be able to hold you off from needing a transplant for a long time.
  4. I think you have too much hair to bother with a hair system. I can see getting a HT to fill in all around, but what @Berba11 said about waiting to see how much you lose makes some sense since you just recently stopped meds. You want to wait until the loss settles down to see where you are at rather than transplanting now and then needing to do another session in a year.
  5. After looking at your pictures, the above section I quoted sounds like what I would want to do if it were me. Bulk up the front with 1000 grafts and then spread another 1000 grafts throughout the midscalp to add some density all through there.
  6. This sounds like they implanted the grafts facing straight up rather than facing forward. Hair doesn't grow straight up out of the scalp in most places. It's usually angled forward in the front half while also facing towards the sides a bit on either side of the hair line. I think most people comb their hair back because they get less grafts transplanted into the midscalp and crown, so combing it back usually provides the best coverage. This is not always the case, though. There are a lot of people who do side parts.
  7. I think if you are down to such small doses only a couple of times per week and still having side effects then you should probably just quit it all together and try something else. You could try oral Minoxidil. You also have to wonder if it's in your mind rather than an actual effect of Finasteride.
  8. Yes. That’s normal. Most of the transplanted hair falls out in that time. You will start growing new hair sometime around 3 to 4 months after the transplant.
  9. Just to be clear. You are losing hair around and behind the transplanted hair but not the transplanted hair itself. Is that right?
  10. Honestly it might just be better to move on to another Dr. I don’t know why some clinics are so awful at responding to potential patients. It could be that they are way over booked but they should still reply to you to let you know that.
  11. With those scabs gone it’s really looking good. Does the hair line have just a hint of a widows peak in the center? I always felt that gives the hair line a more natural look. I want to see how that turns out.
  12. I’m surprised how good the crown coverage turned out. It looks great.
  13. It seems to look like it’s filling in more compared to previous pictures. I know sometimes the lighting can make a difference. Do you feel like it improved any?
  14. You usually have to stay on meds at least a few months before starting to see results so don’t give up on them too soon. It could take 6 months or more to see an improvement.
  15. There are a couple of members here who have gone to Dr Bekir Bek. You can do a search for the Drs name and you should come up with a few results that you can view.
  16. Thank you for coming back to let us know you went through with a hair transplant. Keep us updated on the progress. Do you plan on going back later to fill in the crown?
  17. It looks about right for 5 months. Update us again in another month so we can see the progress.
  18. In looks you’re right. But would he have played the part as well. I haven’t seen the movie so I can’t say but some people have the right skills for certain parts.
  19. If you are a NW 6 or know you are headed there then I think it’s probably a good idea to use some beard hair from the start rather than waiting until some later time when you run out of scalp donor. If you mix beard hair in at the beginning the Dr can blend it in with scalp donor hair to make any differences less noticeable. If you wait until years later as you lose more hair then you’ll be stuck using all beard hair in a ring around the fringe area which may be more noticeable then if you blended it in with other hair from the start. You also will have to worry less about donor depletion since you’re not using as much scalp hair
  20. It’s a good idea to try meds because you’ll get a better idea of what you can get with a hair transplant. If the meds work and you get some growth without having side effects then you will need less grafts and you may be able to go a little more aggressive with density or where you create the hair line. If the meds aren’t working for you, or if you get side effects, or just decide you don’t want to stay on them long term then you’ll know you need to be more conservative with density and the hair line design.
