  1. It's funny you posted this because I just watched this video earlier today. This clinic is a joke and constantly talks about the need for multiple surgeries to produce adequately dense hairlines. While multiple procedures are sometimes needed, they're always needed with this joke of a clinic because they transplant at like 30 fu/cm^2 in the hairline area. lol. Here's the final result. Not transparent at all. They don't comb through the transplanted area and only have the patient briefly look down while on a zoom call in dim lighting. As if all that isn't bad enough, they don't even count the number of grafts used in their procedures. They use some nonsensical scale so a patient can't even know how many grafts they had transplanted.
  2. Might it be possible that the bumps could be inflammation in response to minoxidil applied to the recipient area before it calmed down? I'm not a veteran as many on here are, but that may be something worth considering.
  3. A pic of the flakes. Anyone have any thought on that aspect of this?
  4. 4 months exactly. Growth seems good and you can see in the front right part of the hairline some brown dots that are grafts popping through. I do have a fair deal of what I would call flakes stuck to my scalp throughout (probably sebhorreic dermatitis) and some dry flakes too. Doesn’t seem to be hampering growth, but is frustrating. Anyone had this issue 4 months post op, but not had it hamper growth? Bloxham said he didn’t expect it would especially given that growth is pretty even throughout. They don’t really itch and you pretty much have to get close to a mirror in harsh light to see them - it’s not as if it appears I’ve been snowed on or some such dandruff catastrophe.
  5. You're the one typing in all caps telling a 15 year old to jump on the strongest possible DHT blocking drugs and mentioning how your bald friend is super depressed. Those are the two most fear mongering statements you could make - especially to an impressionable 15 year old kid. The "worst case scenario" you listed is that the medicine works... That's best case. Worst case is it doesn't work and you have really negative side effects. I don't for a second believe the ED rates given in relation to Fin and Dut is roughly 20% stronger, so it's absolutely not something that should be taken lightly. There is more to life than literally torching everything to block DHT as much as is humanly possible - especially when small dosages of fin are quite effective and significantly less likely to produce a negative response. Lastly, if this kid is losing his hair at such a young age, there's a good chance he won't respond to the drugs at all - as that would be an indication of potentially quite severe MPB.
  6. Can this guy be banned for suggesting this to a 15 year old? The dude says it every time and its reckless to jump on Dut generally, even more so for a 15 year old
  7. The inflammation in that area and the fact that the other side is totally unaffected lead me to say no. That and you being 15 just make it seem like the answer to your question is no. Then again, what inflammation appears to be there doesn't seem like it would impact hair at all. This is a tough call.
  8. Looks reasonably good, just crazy to use that many grafts for that area.
  9. 4400 grafts on a 26 year old to lower the hairline that much. What are the thoughts of people here on this?
  10. Thanks. Still apparent how thin the hairs are in harsh light, but that seems normal for just prior to the 4 month mark (which is on this upcoming Thursday).
  11. 2000 grafts w/Konior will run you around $24k... The long wait would be appropriate for someone your age, but it's still a price that's unnecessary. However great he is.
  12. Then you're viable as a candidate after you see that you're stable on fin. I privately messaged you with a case that's quite similar (I think) to yours. Check your inbox. Good God man, don't go near Bosley. Don't play roulette with your scalp. Konior's great, but he charges $18000 for 1500 grafts FUT. His prices are the steepest and there are other options - notwithstanding what "sukh123" says.
  13. That thought process he had may very well be doable, it's just that if he goes to a crap clinic to start he's going to be setting himself up for a repair right from the jump and then before you know it he's two transplants deep pre-25.
  14. Dude, don't got to Bosley. Where do you live? I guarantee there is someone in that region of the world that's better than some local Bosley guy.
  15. By no means is my graft count gospel, but I think it's a pretty good range. I think the second profile pic you did (the one I suggested a different line for) was you sort of muddling together the front and side views in your head - hence the odd shape. Given that you're 21, the bare minimum you should do is continue on meds for a few years and see how things go. Adding Nizoral 2-3 times a week can also help thicken.
  16. The middle is definitely going a bit, and if you're as young as you appear that's not a great sign. That said, you still have very strong hair and you're on preventative medication so that's good. Your design is too aggressive and I think it would leave you with a bit too flat/low of a hairline. If you temper it back a bit more I think somewhere in the 2200-2500 range could potentially give you a great result. Given how strong your hair is, you need the transplant done very densely or you'll have a whispy, horrid lower hairline in front of all the rest of that good hair you have. To actually do the design you're proposing densely enough would probably be just north of 3000 grafts. I'm not saying my design is perfect, but I think something more along those lines might suit you better as time passes. The most important thing that can be stressed to you is that if you do proceed with a transplant, you need to go to someone who produces dense, crisp hairlines. Better to have the hairline be a tad higher and strong than lower and weak.
  17. Yes, one shouldn't search for a cheap surgeon that's immediately available, but that doesn't mean it's necessary to go to literally the most expensive transplant surgeon in the US. There are other docs that are also low risk and that delver great results for half the price Konior does. It's simply not the case that those two docs are the only ones likely to give results that are better than sub-par.
  18. I like how they kept the middle a little bit further forward than the rest of the hairline so as to sort of follow the natural maturation/shape of his hairline. The improvement isn't drastic since the loss was pretty minor, but this guy definitely has a "grade A" hairline now.
  19. Most people don’t want to wait a year and a half or more and spend 25-30k to get a hair transplant. And there are certainly other very good options outside of the two you listed. You’re ridiculous.
  20. This. I was a NW2 and was quoted 2000 grafts and ended up with 2650 just to slightly lower (though I have a large-ish head). No way 1500 grafts makes a NW3 satisfied. And we can’t advise or judge the docs recommendations without seeing pictures. Well put.
  21. This. If you get some average tier doc to give you a low density result you’ll end up looking worse and unnatural all in one go. Either pony up to get a doc that will dense pack (NW3 generally requires 2000+ grafts) or don’t do it at all
