  1. Always lurking haha. Don't have much to report on my own case as it's pretty much done. But enjoy seeing everyone else's progress, and giving my own take on things when something interesting pops up.
  2. This is a great transplant in terms of density. But going along with the topic, you have no rows (which at least aesthetically speaking, is objectively superior). edit: although to be fair, hard to see if there are rows without a zoomed out photo of a bigger area.
  3. I'm not a fan at all of using rows. Now, does rows necessarily mean a bad result? No. But is it ideal, hell no. It's just lazy. There's no argument you can make that you "couldn't do it more randomly". Rows are just easier to do for a surgeon. Any other explanation is an excuse to make the surgery easier to do.
  4. Looks like you've never had any hair loss at all. What a fantastic 8 month result. Hopefully we'll get a 1 year update soon.
  5. They don’t. But people style their hair that way in photos in order to show the hairline work.
  6. I'll dm you an update. I'll do a full post update at the 2 year mark (late September).
  7. Yeah, same day, after operation. I'm pretty sure I'm correct on those dosages.
  8. Yeah. My results are even better now that we're almost 2 years in. It's looking great. As for protocol, was just one pill a day, for 3 months. The pill, if I'm not mistaking had 2.5mg of Cialis, 2.5mg of Viagra, and it also had 5mg of minoxidil + arginine. If you really want to know, I can look for what the Arginine dosage was, although I think it was 5mg.
  9. It was an example of someone who shaves head and has no apparent issues in recipient area post transplant. No scars/pits etc
  10. I might be biased, but I think my surgeon is the best when it comes to temples, he does an amazing job with them. But his style is very specific (he tends to do them more horizontal/boxed in usually. Though I've seen variation depending on facial structure. I had him do mine and they turned out amazing.
  11. Since you want it rounded the way you have it, and lowered even more, you need to be careful that you go to someone who knows how to work with the temporal region. The angling and direction of the grafts drastically changes in that area, and if done badly, you'll be looking at a nightmare of a job to fix. Personally, I like Thiago Bianco in Brazil when it comes to Temples. I had mine with him. But make sure, whoever you pick, you find some before/after of their work that includes temples. Some clinics do really good work on hairlines, and absolutely have no concept of how to rebuild the sides.
  12. Me, personally, I’d not go to a surgeon that does more than 1. Maybe if he really had a stupidly good reputation, but usually not. But, in general, more than 2 is a big red flag.
  13. Obviously a hair transplant is better long term. Hair systems are a huge pain, and can really mess with your mentally long term, as you'll always feel like you're hiding something. That said, 5k is kinda on the lower end of possible budget, I'd save up another 5k then start looking with a healthier budget.
  14. I'd say there's no real limit these days, depending on clinic. You have places doing over 10k grafts FUE in one day, and doing a great job of it. It really depends on method, size of team, experience, etc.
  15. Only worth it if you have the budget to afford a Dr who specializes in it. Most doctors do crap work on temporal peaks.
  16. To be fair, his hairline does not look unnatural. It just looks too low aesthetically due to proportions. He could easily have had a NW0 hairline a bit higher up, and it would look great. This photo is not a good example of "NW0 is bad", but of "he went too low based on facial proportions". I'll chime in to what most people here already said. If you have progressive balding, you probably can't afford the grafts to go back to full NW0, as it's simply too many. You don't have infinite donor. If on the other hand, you're similar to me, and have no balding, go for it. Just make sure you have a good surgeon. To get a NW0 look, you usually need temporal work, and that is very hard to do. Most surgeons will leave you looking like a clown as they're simply not good enough for temporal peaks. I had mine done, and the result is great, but be careful and make sure you do your research when contemplating it.
  17. From my understanding, it's impossible to catch all multi grafts without using microscopes, because you literally can't see them properly when the 2nd follicle is as tiny as they can be (just starting to grow). On the other hand, there's nothing about nature of extractions that "requires" lupes, per say.
  18. There's a difference between not using lupes for extractions, and not using microscopes for grafts sorting.
