  1. Something interesting to talk about: I haven't seen this anywhere else, but my doctor uses a special post op cocktail for people who get his "very high density" FUE (which in my case was around 75-80 fu/cm2). Apart from all the normal stuff people take (antibiotics, stuff for swelling, all that good stuff), I've been taking a specific mix of: Oral Minoxidil, but more importantly with it Viagra and Cialis. I take it every morning, and will continue doing so for 3 months. Again, never seen this before. He says it's his own protocol that he does to increase bloodflow for such high densities and help graft survival. I know it's something definitely not recommended anywhere, and haven't heard of it anywhere else, so wanted to bring attention to it for other people to think about and discuss.
  2. I personally did. But that’s because the waiting line just for a consultation was very long. I actually think the low quality clinics tend to have better quality customer service. They can’t run off of word of mouth, so their first impression is so much more important.
  3. In my 30s. Slits, then implanted pen into slit. So not a DHI (The slits are premade) but the pen is used to implant instead of forceps.
  4. Here’s a better closeup: Those short grafts normal for 1 month post op? Or is there a chance they’re dead, hence not growing/shedding?
  5. Not much to report, most of it has shed. Skin is looking better every week but still pink. Only small concern is that some of the grafts are not growing yet and look similar size as day 1 of implant, but I assume that’s normal, though I wouldn’t mind having a confirmation on that. Here is a pic of right now: and here is a pic I took a day or two ago (higher definition)... do you think those tiny short grafts that haven’t started growing or shedding yet are normal?:
  6. No going to say which, but I had a HT at a top level clinic, with a very long waiting list. It was very slow to get answers to questions and the customer service was lacking. That said, after booking surgery and paying deposit, all of a sudden they were much more attentive. And the surgery went great. I think some of the top places simply get too many people contacting them to give everyone the proper attention they deserve. But, I’d only tolerate this from a very well established clinic, and it is, when looked at in isolation, a red flag for sure.
  7. You can get a good idea of density like around the first few days. Week 2, absolutely no idea, since you might have already lost half the grafts to shedding by then... who knows how many. I took some photos of my transplant very early on just for this reason, to count the density, such as this:
  8. I’d take 3 days. Get a comfortable neck pillow for sleeping. As for driving... hell no... Apart from not a good idea for safety reasons... do you really want to stress your body with 20 hours of driving right after surgery; during the most critical first few days of recovery? Just wear sunglasses. That + covid mask, even your friends won’t recognize you. I wouldn’t do the whole hat, there are always risks of potentially doing damage, but that’s just me.
  9. Wasn’t there a famous female actress who used it to make her forehead bigger? I recall it looking great.
  10. Here’s a high resolution photo To add, all the thin stringy hairs at the front are all transplanted, there are no native hairs in the red skin area.
  11. Hi, I’m a bit over 1 month post FUE and I’ve shed probably about 80% of the transplanted hair. Most of the rest simply kept growing. That said, there are quite a few transplanted hairs that seem to be about the same size they were after day 1 of the transplant, have not shed, nor grown... Is this normal?
  12. I'll keep this thread updated probably until the 6 month mark, where I'll make a new thread with pictures better organized and in chronological order, all in one spot.
  13. I grew out very thick eyebrows from very thin eyebrows with 6 months of topical minoxidil on them.
  14. Hm, I'm pretty sure you will need another hair transplant in the future to be satisfied. Also, the hairline looks very regular and straight to me, so that might be an area that a future hair transplant will need to add some irregularities to. That said, nothing "wrong" seems to have been done here. There isn't any permanent damage or problems that it will cause you, and I'm relatively sure the end result will be way better than what you looked like before the transplant, especially if you wear your hair down a little, have bangs, etc. A second session down the line to make the hairline a little less regular, and some more density, and you'll be golden.
  15. Here's an update, 3 weeks post op: What do you guys think? I've definitely lost more than half the hair so far.
  16. My case was not androgenic alopecia though, just forehead reduction @gatorNic What would you say then? My hairline has been same for over a decade with no medication
  17. Couldn't find any real info anywhere online on this. From my understanding, HGH accelerates the growth of pretty much everything, including nails and HAIR. Is there any known knowledge on how this would effect follicle growth for transplanted follicles in an FUE? Positive effects, negative? Speed up the process, slow it down?
  18. I'm not gonna say who my surgeon was, but I was told that the survival rate will be very good.
  19. I also hope most of the grafts survive. Only time will tell. But if they don't, it won't be from me doing anything wrong. I'm following post op advice to the letter.
  20. I had zero hair there before (this was forehead reduction, my natural hairline is higher. I counted myself in multiple spots (using higher res photo than this), always 75+
  21. @Aftermath Either way, I honestly shouldn't ever need a 2nd hair transplant if first one is a success, so using extra grafts should not be that big of an issue compared to someone with progressive alopecia. But yeah, would suck to lose half of them. Though I'm not worried, as I've seen past patients he has had that have ended up with similar density and great end results. Here's hoping I turn out the same. That said, by when would I know if some of the grafts are failing? What does that look like? Are there any signs?
  22. 6cm post surgery. As for surgeon, he is internationally well known, but rather not say for reasons of anonymity.
  23. Just to add, I had a bit over 3300 grafts for this area (like my username). I had zero hair in the transplanted area (again, this was to lower hairline, my natural hairline was higher, and I didn’t use to have hair there).
  24. Had my FUE hair transplant almost 2 weeks ago. I had no balding but a large forehead and mature hairline. I had a forehead reduction with very high density (self counted 75, 76, and 81 grafts/cm2 on 3 separate spots). The temporal points are a bit lower density to match the density I have there originally. How does it look to you guys so far? First picture is 7 days in, second picture is 10 days in. Also, here's 1 day post op:
