  1. Bisanga's clinic has a way of getting rid of the VAT tax for you. He must have a really good accountant or something. All the other Belgian doctors, you will have to pay the 25% VAT Tax. I personally spent so much time looking into this in January when I had my surgery in Belgium. If I were you I wouldn't bother trying to find a loophole, I am certain it will lead you to a dead end. The VAT Tax is a really well-known law in Belgium and is super profitable for the government. It's not something you as a foreigner are going to be able to get rid of (unless you go to Bisanga - for some reason unknown reason they are able to waive the VAT Tax)
  2. i personally am unaware of anything that will reduce the post HT redness. I have always just let it slowly fade over time. I recommend just telling everyone you are close to that you have gotten a HT (on an as needed basis of course). If ppl know you have gotten a HT, you won't have to worry about the redness. The redness in general is almost impossible to hide completely so I recommend just "owning it" and not really making a big deal about it.
  3. I agree 100% HT's are really uncomfortable procedures. Also, maybe I just have a weird natural high tolerance to benzos, but the anti-anxiety meds I've been given have always done nothing basically. And then combine that with the 7-10 days post op where you are going to be really sleep-deprived and have to follow all these odd post-op rules, it makes for a pretty uncomfortable and inconvenient time. If you are going for surgery 2, I recommend just being completely honest how uncomfortable you were forr surgery #1. Specifically ask for a higher dose of pain and anxiety meds. You are paying a ton of money for surgery, they should be able to accomodate.
  4. I have never heard of insomnia as a side effect of Finasteride. As Melvin said, have you ever had insomnia before taking Finasteride? What was the cause then? You have this wrong, the opposite is actually true. Dutasteride is basically just a much much stronger version of Fin. So if you have sides on Fin, chances are your sides will only get worse on Dut.
  5. it very well might be related to the HT (or might not). But unless you live locally to a good HT AND they can book you in relatively soon (both are very unlikely) your next best shot is going to a primary care doctor, dermatologist, or perhaps even a neurologist. Basically any doctor who has a good understanding of the scalp, skin, and your nerves.
  6. have you considered electrolysis? that permanently kills hair, whereas with lasering you have to do it a bunch to truly kill the hair. If the only issue doctors and other medical professionals have with this is that its so too soon, I strongly encourage you to try to relax and just ride out the next few months when it will be safer to kill more hair. SMP may or may not be a good solution for you, I personally do not know. But please do research the f*ck out of SMP, as there as definitely some cons to it and the last thing you want to do is add more problems to the existing ones. I know youve already done SMP in the donor area, which does not carry that much risk really. But it is a bit of a gamble to do SMP on the frontal 3rds.
  7. I agree that the timing of this occuring doesn't make sense for the HT to be the culprit. See your local primary doctor for a full examination and diagnosis of the problem areas. Definitely let him know about the hair transplant as well and your own thoughts.
  8. this is both somewhat true and somewhat false. Plenty of celebrities and other people with money go to garbage clinics. I think Floyd Mayweather went to a hairmill in Turkey. Plenty of athletes and other celebrities go to bad hairmills. The sad truth of the matter is - if you are someone "noteworthy", the doctor and tech team are going to give you your undivided attention and an A+ effort. Whereas if you are just a regular Joe going to a hairmill, you are going to have a bad time. It's the reason so many famous people and influencers can go to bad clinics and still get good results.
  9. why do you prefer FUT? I think you have a lot more research to do into hair transplants. Also 24 is too young to get this done. Enjoy your youth and come back to hair transplant world in a few years.
  10. Redness can realistically last 2 months or even longer. It will be most prominent if you lowered your hairline and/or got work on your temple points. Longer hair and wearing a hat can help.
  11. no ethical doctor would ever do a 'mohawk style' transplant. A patient would permanently be stuck with a mohawk. Could you imagine being an elderly person and being forced to have a mohawk? It can cause massive issues at any age for that matter. When it comes to being fully bald or being given a permanent mohawk, I think its time to throw in the towel and accept baldness.
  12. can you clarify what your actual question is then? OK - Fin is 110% causing your nipples to be sensitive. If this is a fact, then I personally would stop taking Fin. In this case, I would agree with @Sunset Dune and this will ultimately lead to gyno. Saving your hair is not worth male gyno. I don't see how someone would have a sudden onset of nipple sensitivity and it would just stop with that being the only symptom. Continued use of Fin will only make it worse.
  13. My unscientific opinion is that there is no visible correlation between Fin and fertility. Think about it. Tens (perhaps hundreds) of millions of guys take fin. If Fin caused infertility, surely it would be a well-known side effect, no? In fact, that would mean that a fair amount of dudes would probably take Fin for its infertility symptoms. If that was the case, why wear a condom or get a vasectomy when you can just take Fin? My opinion is that guys with fertility issues on Fin were going to have fertility issues regardless. If you already have a fertility issue, then sure I suppose Fin could potentially make things slightly harder. But if you have zero history of infertility and nothing to indicate fertility issues, then I really doubt Fin would be the red-handed culprit in a fertility issue.
  14. please see a doctor for an accurate diagnosis. my 1st impression is that Fin is yet again being thrown under the bus and being scapegoated for a mystery ailment. There are many causes of nipple sensitivity... Regardless of what you do or what the actual diagnosis is, I advise you to stop taking Fin and pursue alternative hairloss treatments. Since you are already convinced in your mind that Fin is causing your nipples to be extra sensitive (whether accurate or not), I fail to see how continuing to take this medication will lead to your positive well-being.
  15. no one notices multis in real life. Multis are a fake issue that are only identified in zoomed in photos by people on hair transplant forums.
  16. Commonly, there is ALOT of bleeding. I think most people who have a dislodged graft are actively and consciouncesly aware of it due to the amount of blood. Its not something where like you dislodge a graft and are unaware. That being said, it certainly is possible to have a graft dislodged and have minimal blood. There is no universal rule that there must be blood. All the more reason to be very cautious for the first 3 days and protect your scalp like your life depended on it.
  17. the grafts are essentially secure after 3 days. between 3-10 days, you would have to SEVERELY injure yourself to dislodge the grafts. This isn't much help to you in hindsight, but you really didnt need to stay wherever you are for 8 days.
  18. For the frontal region, month 4. For the crown - unknown as crown growth takes forever and is ridiculously slow and unpredictable
  19. For me personally rogaine/minoxidil is utterly useless. Plus its annoying and takes time to apply. My unscientific opinion is that there is nothing Rogaine can do that Fin/Dut cant also do, and Fin/Dut are way more effective to boot. Also keep in mind that the effects of Rogaine (if there are any) only last as long as you are using it. It is only a "long-term" solution as long as you are applying it every day.
  20. 1) Yes to keep moist 2) No clue if it affects graft surviviability, but 100% it helps with your scalp recovery and will help with all the scabbing 3) I dont think there are any consequences really. The only real thing that can f up your surgery is dislodging grafts or getting a really bad sunburn. Everything else you are told to do is to help aide in the recovery, but wont make or break your surgerry 4) No the pressure will not be enough 5) 99% of a surgery success happens in the operating room. If your HT fails blame the doctor and tech team, not yourself lol. The only things that are your responsibility are to avoid dislodging grafts and avoid sunburns.
