  1. I would say negligible to no impact. If you are still worried about it you should just ask the doctor directly. You are smoking cigarettes, your doctor should understand...its not like you are doing meth or heroin or something.
  2. you are going to be miserable and sleep deprived the first week of surgery, no matter how you sleep. But all you need to do is sleep on your back for 3 days with a travelers pillow and you will be in the clear. Or you can sleep normally and totally run the realistic chance of dislodging grafts your call
  3. As long as you don't dislodge grafts during the first 3 days or get a really severe scalp sunburn in the first 6 months, post-op activities have ZERO impact on HT results. 99% of success is due to the doctor and techs. Placing a huge emphasis on "patient post-op responsibility" is detrimental to this industry and just allows hair-mills and other bad doctors to unfairly shift blame onto patients.
  4. Repairing bad angles is a pretty horrible process and can take upwards of 3 or even 4 procedures to remedy. Trust me, I am have had 3 repairs already for this issue..... I am very sorry but no grafts cannot be placed in the same hole. If that was the case, bad angle repair cases could all be done in one-go. But its alot more complicated than that. How many bad angles do you have? Is this a minor or severe case? Before you embark on this repair journey, definitely understand and be educated on the timeline, costs, and sheer grit and determination that may be required.
  5. why are you taking Fin every other day? I am not a Fin wizard but does that mean you are only getting 50% of the benefit? Your hairloss is pretty significant and 30 is quite young in this game. You have plenty of years left to lose even more hair. Not to add to any pessism, just an FYI that you already have significant hairloss and given your age it is realistic that you may losesignificantly more. So if at all possible you really shouldn't cut any corners with preventative meds.
  6. I'd say the hairline is a NW4 or so while the crown is a NW5. I wager you need 3-4 really good surgeries to completely fill in anything. 2 surgeries is unrealistic if you are looking to fix everything, sorry. You would need both of these surgeries to basically be like back-to-back flawless, homerun 10/10, which is a very rare accomplishment.
  7. This sounds like an amazing deal. Especially since your results have been an all-around improvement, just underwhelming to you Most places only offer free touchups if they really screwed up the first time. And in these cases you have to fight to fet the free touch up. And why would you want to go somewhere that messed up in the first place Its also very rare to get a complete refund if you are unhappy. Even severely botched patients often have to fight tooth and nail for a refund. Just very surprising to me that H&W A) offers free touch ups and refunds and B) actually follows thru with them
  8. As a NW6, even in the best of hands I would say you are looking at 3 hair transplants for a 100% satisfactory result. If you demand a 'one-and-done' result, then my advice to you is to quit this journey before it even begins.
  9. @simple32019 do you any update on this? do you have a repair plan in place?
  10. Dutasteride is not some boogeyman medication. All it is is a better, stronger, more efficient version of Fin. If you have zero sides on Fin, you WILL NOT have sides on Dut. Trust me, I made the upgrade myself.
  11. your pre-op eyebrows looked completely normal.....can you please explain what you didnt like about your pre-op eyebrows?
  12. 1) Even hair from the safe zone will thin with age. This is just part of nature/biology. 2) A dirty little secret is that recipient hair is often taken from outside the definitive safe zone. A NW3 who a doctor determines will never ever become say a NW6, may choose to more liberally take hair from outside the true hair zone.
  13. Im not sure exactly what your question about unshaven FUE is. But what I can tell you is unshaven fue isnt fooling anyone and literally 100% of guys are better off getting fully shaven. Your crown loss is significant. I wager you need 1 Grand Slam procedure, or 2 homerun procedures, or 3 average/medicore procedures to get it filled in The crown needs an insane # of grafts to be filled in
  14. this is the type of fantasy pipe-dream one-and-done result everyone fantasizes about getting crazy result makes me really regret not going to HLC myself!
  15. By follow up appointments, if you mean a literal follow up review/examination of the work, no one really travels back to their HT surgeon solely for a follow up, especially for an international flight. Reasons for follow up would be you are going for a 2nd surgery, something went wrong with the 1st surgery and the doctor is requiring an in-person review before giving you a refund or advising next steps, or something along those lines. Essentially - your relationship with your HT doctor will end as soon as surgery is over and you won't really have a reason to interact with them again ever. The only times you will ever re-enter their lives is if you want another surgery with them, or if you had a bad result and wish to complain.
  16. Turkey gets an undeserved bad rap. People like hating on Turkey because they think American doctors are better. But that is just not true at all. Whats even more ridiculous is in the US you will be paying like 4x the cost of a HT in Turkey, and a Turkish doctor will be just as good if not better than the average American one. If I had to do my entire HT journey all over again I would have started with HLC in Turkey. In my opinion HLC is the best bang for your buck clinic in the world.
  17. if you are 100% certain this is not a placebo/hypochondria effect due to life stressors, my advice is to explain the situation to your rheumatologist For all you know he has seen hair shedding as a side effect of Sulfalazine, and perhaps that can be replaced with a different medication
  18. whatever you do, DO NOT see Dr. Harris or Dr. Lovitt at Restore Denver. I was botched by both of them. I feel disgusting even calling them 'doctors'
  19. can you clarify how this happened? I image for the vast majority of doctors, even if a mistake or an area that could be made better is noted, most patients would still have to wait months and months to get a touchup Its really cool that you could go back in there after a mere 3 weeks. How far in advance was this minor 2nd touchup planned for? Are you local to the Vancouver area?
  20. so your lifetime graft count is under 3k? I would not give up the fight yet, you have barely used up your graft availability. I do wonder why your 2nd surgery was less than 600 grafts (perhaps you already explained that in this thread, I am too busy atm to read every post) Less than 600 grafts seems like a waste of time, I wonder why Dr. Wesley didnt opt for another 2200 or so like the first time
  21. Ultimately it should be up to you and you alone whether you get a hair transplant or not. Many men are more comfortable than others with recession/baldness. If male pattern baldness doesn't bother you too much, or if the anxiety of a permanent surgical procedure is too much, there is nothing wrong with just living your life and avoid the massive stress, cost, and time-commitment of hair transplants. Also keep in mind that 90% of guys need multiple procedures to be happy. It is very rare to get a one-and-done even if you ultimately decide hair transplants are dumb and silly, at the very least you should ignore the fear mongering and hop on Fin. If you keep abstaining from Fin and your MPB progresses, you will have no one to blame but yourself 🤷‍♂️
  22. darn, yet another poor density result from him. @knivesout09 I haven't had time to read your entire post history - can you please clarify, is the cobblestoning from Mwamba as well? IMO there is absolutely no legitimate reason or excuse for cobblestoning. Even the most mediocre of doctors should easily be able to prevent cobblestoning. Cobblestoning should only be a legitimate risk if you go to a truly bottom-of-the-barrel doctor. Say what you will about the density issues; I am genuinely surprised and a bit taken aback if this cobblestoning is from your Mwamba surgery.
  23. @Maballack while I may actually agree behind the hypothesis that leaving grafts out too long can hurt the yield, I do have to question the accuracy of the infographic you provided. I would say that in general getting 79% growth yield is a good result. In general as long as a liberal amount of grafts are used and there are no donor availability concerns for the future, I think most patients would objectively be happy with 79% growth. I have no clue really, but I feel leaving grafts out for a full 24 hours would have a super poor yield like 30% or below. Are there any doctors out there that actually leave grafts out for a full 24 hours? I am unaware of any who do this this, so I wonder how this data was extracted in the first place.
