  1. Is my test levels being that high a bad thing? Like is it the reason I have more hair loss or that I got gyno? Sorry I don’t know what high test levels mean in terms of clinical effect of it
  2. Yeah it could be that I’m just sensitive to it. And no it was definitely true gyno. I got the glands removed last summer and even the surgeon was surprised with how much glandular tissue came out. He said 99% chance it’ll never come back but when I told him I’m on finasteride, he said that can definitely increase the chances
  3. My estradiol when I last checked it was 27.3 pg/mL and apparently the normal range is 7.6-42.6. however my testosterone was high at 928 ng/DL which is probably because I’m on fin and it’s preventing test from converting to DHT. not sure if this is something to consider before dutasteride
  4. So I think I had slight pubertal gyno, but it didn’t get bad until I was on fin. So I’m guessing the fin made it worse. That’s why I’m hesitant with dut. Otherwise, no sides with fin. I’ll definitely ask my doctor for the sensitive E2 test, thank you
  5. I am 27 y/o and have been on fin since age 23. It has slowed down my hair loss, but not halted it and definitely no regrowth. So I am considering switching to dutasteride. My doctor agreed to prescribe it for me, but said he can’t give me recommendations on how to take it (it is not fda approved in US). I desperately want to avoid HT as long as I can, but am scared to go on the dutasteride. Particularly the sexual side effects, infertility and gynecomastia. I actually have had surgery for gyno already, but my surgeon warned me that there is 1% chance it could return. If anyone can share their experience switching from fin to dut, would appreciate it. How did you make the transition? Did you switch immediately or taper it in? If so, what dosing regimen did you use to transition fin to dut? And please give your honest experience with side effects as well, thanks.
  6. I’m a 27 y/o M who has been on fin/min since age 22, when I first noticed my hair loss. After 5 years of slowing it down, it’s finally catching up to me because I’m starting to notice diffuse thinning in the front (see photo) and the temples are continuing to recede. my question is whether you all think I should shave my head to a buzz cut or even a complete shave, or leave it as is? Nobody has commented on my hair loss so far, so I’m guessing it’s not noticeable to others…yet. So if I don’t have to shave it, I’ll avoid it as long as it looks fine. This current hair length is what I’ve had for my whole life, so I don’t know how I’d look with a buzz cut. Also, am I a good candidate for a hair transplant? I’ve submitted requests for consultations with a few doctors in my area but am waiting to hear back. What do you all think? Thanks
  7. Hello, i am new to this network and posting for the first time so please forgive me if this is the wrong forum for this but I am a 27 y/o M who has been experiencing hair loss for ~6 years. Been on minoxidil since age 22, and finasteride since age 23. They have slowed down the rate of hair fall, but it is still going slowly but surely. Both the hair line and crown. Recently, along with the hairline I’ve started noticing diffuse thinning in the front middle part of my head. So I think it’s time to start thinking of a transplant consultation. im overwhelmed at the amount of ads for surgeons in my area so I thought I’d start by asking here. My criteria are 1) preferably in the NY/NJ region but willing to travel. 2) definitely FUE if anyone can share their experience or recommendations, I’d really appreciate it. I can post pictures of my hair if helpful.
