  1. I booked with Konior in the latter half of 2021 (and my surgery is scheduled for mid-2022). It is approximately a 10 month wait. I don't mind; I've heard there are sometimes cancellations and earlier availability, though that didn't happen in my case. I've lost just a tad more hair during this waiting period, so perhaps best to hold off until the actual date. Like other's mentioned, quality doctors tend to have wait times and I'd rather wait for any of the aforementioned doctors than go elsewhere and risk a subpar result.
  2. Sean is correct. It's possible to do one large session -- and many people do to great success here -- but it's always a risk. Think doing something like doing multiple 2,500 seems like a sweet spot for truly high NW (which you don't appear to be though), as ensuring each graft grows in is important. You'll have a better sense of how it grows in as well, but it's also understandable that it may be frustrating having to go through the process 2+ times. H&W are good and do large sessions. Gabel is great from what I've heard in the U.S. too. Think you might be able to knock it out in one go.
  3. Can't think of a more deserving person,@Gatsby. Congrats and best of luck! Can't wait to see you with amazing locks. Cheers.
  4. Incredible work. You used to really hide the balding crown well! Didn't realize it had been so sparse there. Looks to be a 10/10 procedure. Congrats @Melvin- Moderator!
  5. I'd check out Eugenix and H&W given the level of loss. I'd be a bit hesitant to do a hair transplant given your young age, but the level of loss you have is intense, though the donor looks okay. I'd honestly shave it off, give fin some time, and wait until 25 to see where your donor is at. If it hasn't thinned by then, I'd go through with it. Best of luck with the journey -- you've come to the right place.
  6. I'm a NW6 (possibly heading to a 7, and expect that I'll need around 6k grafts in total for decent overall coverage...). Despite that, Konior agreed to proceed with my surgery, limiting the number of grafts for a first pass at around 2,000 (though seemed open to 3,000 range, depending on extent of loss, pattern and the circumstances). If you're going to use Dr. Konior for 5k-6k grafts, my impression is that he's open to it, perhaps provided that you do it in multiple sessions (someone feel free to correct this point if they've done megasessions with him). If his costs don't pose problem and if you don't mind doing smaller sessions, I think you'd be in amazing hands even for a higher NW. Check out @Tao who had insane results from Dr. K, despite the high Norwood for example.
  7. I mean they are great doctors, but this looks like a possible Norwood 6/7 case with minimal donor. If he has a great beard, they might be able to pull from there and the donor, and get decent frontal coverage. Both (i) the options he's selected (Bosley...wtf?) and focusing primarily on cost (looking for places that are around 2k in total...wtf?) and (ii) the belief that he's a NW2, indicates that more research is likely needed.
  8. I think this is the third thread you've made about Hair of Istanbul? I think it's more than fair to say that they did a pretty poor job in your case, but I think it's far from a complete botch-job. Yes, your donor will look weaker, but I think there's probably enough left to have an elite doctor fill in the grafts. You'll need to do some research to have it properly fixed. Turkey is no doubt risky, but I don't think it's necessarily any riskier than other countries (e.g. India, super-cheap US clinics, etc.). I think the appeal is the cheaper prices, particularly with the falling currency, but people that are only willing to pay around $5,000 are always going to take the risk of dealing with a hair-mill or untrained technicians, whether in Turkey or elsewhere.
  9. Not sure the transplant route is a good idea; the donor isn't really there (looks like most of it has thinned and there's only a small workable region). Which doctors rejected you for lack of donor? I'd check with H&W, Konior, Eugenix, or any other ethical doctor -- I think they should be able to accurately tell you if it makes sense to do a transplant.
  10. Thanks for the photos, @HT1404. Not going to sugarcoat it, but this is one of the worst results I've seen -- elite doctor or otherwise. How he managed to make 4,000 grafts look like sub-750 is beyond me. Obviously not your fault -- and its heartbreaking when someone does the research and selects a so-called "elite" doctor only to be butchered. You deserve better. This isn't going to get any better. I'm going to echo the sentiment above; Diep is too inconsistent nowadays. For every 4-5 home-runs I've seen, there is one severe misfire as is seen here. I'd suggest contacting H&W or Konior asap to fix this. We are here for you and wishing you luck on this journey. This is 100% recoverable.
  11. Do you have better quality photos showing your hair from a slightly further distance (like photo 4)? In any case, sorry this happened -- I would expect much more density in the front with 4,000 grafts used. Safe to say I'd look into possible repair work or a transplant by H&W/Eugenix given the high Norwood and remaining grafts.
  12. Agree with the above. Looks like over-harvesting. It's a very strong contrast. Also, you'd need at least 5k+ grafts to cover that area of loss to achieve thick density. Hopefully it'll blend it, but I'm certain you'll need another transplant or two to achieve full coverage (assuming this transplant succeeds).
  13. Dude that's insane growth for just 16 weeks!! That hairline is looking amazing -- no red marks and completely natural. Did he work on the crown as well in your case or just the frontal third?
  14. Nice. Barghouthi is a very ethical doctor. This will turn out great!!
  15. Noted. And yes, absolutely agreed that this will very likely require 5k+ grafts. Honestly, it'll be an expensive procedure -- at least $30,000 given the number of grafts needed. Would really recommend saving up a bit. On the bright-side, there isn't much left to lose, and the list of doctors you're looking at are all very good -- and if fine with them, you could alternatively just opt to doing multiple procedures (e.g. 2k-3k grafts from H&W on first pass and then save up before doing the next 2 - 3k grafts). Best of luck!
  16. The back of the donor looks solid to me and it's good that you have beard grafts as with your level of loss, you'll certainly need to pull from there. The concern here is that the sides are very, very diffuse. I'm not sure it's DUPA given the strength of the donor, but I think I'd check with Eugenix to see what's feasible. Why did Wong deny you? If he thinks you aren't a candidate, I'd very much think twice on this.
  17. I'm newer here, so obviously not my place, but if I had a result like this after seven months, I'd be utterly devastated. I don't blame the poor fellow one it for spreading warnings about ASMED. Hopefully his ban isn't for long. To call this 'not a home-run' after 7 months is putting very mildly. This is easily one of the worst results I've seen, and if it wasn't for the name behind it, I'd think users would be piling on and, perhaps rightfully, deeming this a 'hair-mill' result. I'm particularly disappointed because I was incredibly close to pulling the trigger with ASMED in my initial stages (at a point when I'd done less research). Fortunately, in the consultation, I had a bad feeling and the insistence of using 4000+ grafts when every other ethical doctor suggested doing no more than 2,500 grafts told me all that I'd needed to know. It's clear that this particular clinic often uses too many grafts and has fairly egregious post-patient care. Best of luck @Frustrated -- we are wishing you luck in your repair.
  18. Disagree with the others. Would def recommend researching Fin. If you are okay with the low risks of the side effects, I'd say go for it. Otherwise, I think you've lost enough that it makes sense to consider a transplant even without Finasteride (assuming the an ethical surgeon gives the okay), noting as others mentioned that you are likely to lose more. Find a great surgeon who can plan around that loss -- you will likely need 2+ transplants if you jump the gun now. Just keep expectations in check.
  19. This is a NW7 -- not NW6. Donor is going to get worse I think at just 26 -- the hair on your neck is receding up your neck and the donor has little to begin with. If you're going to go the transplant route, I'd suggest just focusing on the front. I'd wear a hair piece perhaps in the middle portion post transplant -- or, as others suggested, just shave it off. It'll look 1000x better shaved.
  20. Density is good, but that hairline really needs a repair. Like someone said, looks like multigrafts used and it's too straight, so it appears unnatural. I'd check out some top repair surgeons for the front.
  21. Insane growth!! You went from no hairline to a very solid one. This is going to be a huge success. Congrats man!
