  1. Yes, he certainly did have a great result @Gatsby. I think on a more modest graft count level, Amirik (posted on this forum) got nice results with Eugenix using 3,613 (or something like that) grafts using exclusively body hairs.
  2. For sure @Melvin-Moderator. Dr. Cole has a strong opinion, however, he has tons of experience, was a strip surgeon and is an innovator so his points give me pause. Some of his points make sense and others I do not understand fully. Would love to see a debate between Dr. Feller and Dr. Cole on the topic.
  3. Homerun....no a grand slam! Enjoy your new look.
  4. While you have a valid point @Gatsby, I do not agree entirely as I have seen examples in which 80% or so of body hairs looks great. One example is Rahul, a Eugenix patient, a NW 7 with around 12k grafts with only around 1k or so coming from the scalp. His results are posted somewhere on this forum. You can probably find his video is a google search.
  5. Hi All- I came across a very interesting article by, a pioneering FUE surgeon (formerly FUT surgeon) from Atlanta. Dr. C is one of the few doctors endorsed by Joe Tillman, the hair transplant mentor. The title of the article on page 23 of the PDF (44 in the magazine) is 'FUE Fights Back' as Dr. C argues why FUE is the better technique including his argument on why FUE can harvest more lifetime grafts than FUT. I think it is worth reading given it was written by Dr. C. If you are as confused as I am around which technique is better, especially in relation to maximizing your lifetime donor potential, this article paints an interesting perspective! http://fuemagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/FUE-Magazine-volume1-Issue-1-The-Authority-Hair-Restoration.pdf
  6. Hi @amirik- Do you have any insight as to why your 1st 2 hair transplants were not successful with Dr. A's clinic? While I know it is ancient history for you, I inquire to see if there is any knowledge you feel would be helpful to the community. Do you think it was the clinic or perhaps that in 2006, FUE was still relatively new?
  7. Wow... @amirik quite a journey as you chose reputable clinics no doubt. It makes me wonder how many other failures are out there that are swept under the rug. Looking at the bright side, your results look good this time! A little SMP perhaps and a 2nd procedure if you can get more body hairs can result in a slam dunk!
  8. @juanjs84-I saw your 2nd video on the Eugenix Youtube channel in which you are conversing with a former Eugenix patient and a staff member. So informative and thanks again for doing this for prospective patients. Happy growing!
  9. Wow @amirik...I think it looks really good! Hair is distributed well and it does NOT look like body hair (to me), but rather scalp hair. You have quite a remarkable story and while the beginning was rough, I would say this is a MAJOR victory, especially given the situation. I think the potential is certainly there with a 2nd session and SMP...maybe SMP in the recipient area too? I am no SMP expert, but wondering if SMP in the recipient with your short hair cut might give quite the illusion of density. Again, I do think this is an excellent result!
  10. ...and to add to that thought, could you imagine you went ahead with the 3,500 with the other doctor? Not that you might not of had a decent result, but not near the level of with Eugenix! It would have been lost potential. Just comes to show us the value of other opinions and not taking the word of an 'expert' as the law!
  11. WOW! This is unbelievable @Zoomsterhow the other clinics (who I am assuming are reputable) had a DRAMATICALLY different view on your situation and were proven wrong. It would be really interesting if you sent them the video of how your results turned out with Eugenix. And to top it off, you were told you have another 2k scalp grafts yet available, not to mention beard grafts. So, Dr. Nel estimated you at 3,500 including body hair (if you were lucky), while with Eugenix, you could probably have close to 12k grafts (scalp + beard). So good that you didn't listen to them!
  12. One other potential reason for the slight dip in density is the that 1,400 grafts were beard hairs. In the following video at 3:05 Dr. Arika shows how beard hair is in anagen for 2 months-1 year followed by a 1-3 month telogen, compared with scalp hair that is in anagen for 2-8 years followed by a 3 month anagen phase. She underscores this point of possible density dip due to beard hair cycle at 5:23.
  13. The results spoke for themselves on the video and you couldn't even see any areas of lower density or anagen desynch. Glad thinks are thickening up even, more!
  14. If you have yet to see, Eugenix came out with a video yesterday showing @Zoomster1 year results. The video clearly shows the success of the procedure complete with video at all angles including a brush through of the hair. Check it out! @Zoomster- were you using any hair fibers in the video?
  15. I agree with @Gatsbythat Eugenix could be a very good choice. Google 'Eugenix diffuse' and you will find a video by Dr. Sethi talking about hair transplanting in diffuse patients. Hope this helps!
  16. To follow up on the results of beard hair, Abhinay asked further of Dr. Bansal who said that the success figures are just estimates and if beard hairs don't grow properly, they will implant more scalp grafts at a future sitting.
  17. Happy new year!- Dr. Bansal and Eugenix have been consistently producing good results. They are certainly a trustworthy clinic. I too had a consult with Dr. Bansal and she recommended something similar for me. I did ask about beard hair and she was open by saying 60% have excellent results combining beard, 20% moderate and 20% not so good- I think it has something maybe to do with the growth rate of the beard. When I asked her to assess my beard (over a zoom video) which I had grown out, she said she can only tell when it is short. She asked me when I shave, how my beard looks the next day. When I told her you can see that I have outlines of small stubble, she hypothesized, I might have 3-4k viable lifetime beard grafts. I mentioned that I have fine hair and wanted to know how the beard hairs might integrate, she told me to check out @Zoomsterposts on this forum for a good example. @paddyirishmanis another good example of Caucasian-fine hair with great success using beard grafts. While I wasn't able to get an answer as to whether or not my beard hairs would grow well on the scalp, I did find out through a follow up question to @Abhinay Singhthat if they don't grow well, they could always add more scalp grafts at a later date. Since such a large proportion of beard grafts will be used, one idea is to send her photos of your beard clean shaven and another one 24 hours later to see if she could better assess. If that is not a good test, I am sure she can further advise. I may do the same myself. Probably the main reason I am still balking on Eugenix is debating whether to go FUT 1st, which some say will yield more lifetime donor grafts (although Dr. Bansal disagreed with this and cited some very valid reasons, which I have heard before). FYI...if you search this forum for 'Eugenix, you will see a detailed write up of my consult with Dr. Bansal. I hope this helps and keep us posted!
  18. Good questions, and to add to @BoldnotBald, are you open to sharing which clinics you had consulted with that you had been rejected by? If you are not open to disclosing names, can you share the total number of clinics you consulted with that did not think you were a suitable candidate?
  19. I hear you @juanjs84. I would have mixed feelings as well. The video came out great. Are you traveling all the way from Spain to India just to get checked out in person? No advice around haircuts. I would assume if you trim the donor area, it will make the top look fuller, however, I am not experienced and would check with the clinic. Since you are experiencing very early growth, I think in another couple of months, the top will most certainly catch up!
  20. @juanjs84I saw your video you made with Eugenix as I am subscribed to their YouTube channel. Great job and thank you for doing this as videos like these are very helpful!
  21. So, I had a thought, I wonder if some of the desynchronization in zoomster's case is due to beard hair being on a different cycle than scalp hair, since he had 1,400 beard grafts. @FluffheadI am not sure with Anagen desynchronization if the hair actually comes back. I was under the impression that only a certain percentage of hair actually appears on the scalp at one time due to hairs going through their respective cycles so in essence, the results after Anagen desynchronization are more or less the actual final results- correct me if I am wrong. Would it be correct to assume that if anagen desychronization can cause as much of 30% to not show on scalp that since @Zoomsterhad around 7,000 grafts that if he gets a 2,100 grafts in second sitting (30% of 7,000), that he should see results as he saw before the desynchronization took place?
