As per the first comment, it’s not that hard to see that you have diffuse male pattern baldness. I don’t mean to come off strong, but it’s better you end the denial. I would suggest you schedule an appointment with a dermatologist or two to confirm, and get on treatmeant as soon as they do. You still have a good chance of recovery

How high risk with a hair mill?
TorontoMan replied to Inch6's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
This industry is screwed tbh. There are actually only a handful of surgeons in the entire world capable of performing a surgery worth having. You have to not only consider the way you might scar and the appearance of your donor if it looks depleted, but also the whole thing is a delicate numbers game. We have a limited amount of donor to fill potentially a larger surface area, so the extraction, survival and placement of every graft is going to matter if you're going to get a result that you will be happy about and that will last. Take your time, research and definitely save up some more money. Like someone said, you only see the tip of the iceberg for all the horrible results some guys get. -
How high risk with a hair mill?
TorontoMan replied to Inch6's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Well look, I won't argue this much further. I don't agree with your logic, I hope you reconsider and feel you deserve the highest amount reward rather than settling for higher risk. If you think you could play this game and get off cheap then you don't need to look very hard on here or on reddit to find cases of guys who are devastated. You also posted a question on a forumn where there are a lot guys on here who have invested a lot of time understanding all these trade-offs. I hope you didn't do it just to echo your own thoughts but rather pay attention to the numerous guys here who told you you're gonna get screwed. Play stupid games and win stupid prizes -
How high risk with a hair mill?
TorontoMan replied to Inch6's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
honestly this is a very stupid question. I don't want to sound rude but better the point get across for your own sake. You're rationing what you already know is a bad option for the sake of staying within a very low budget. There is entirely no point to this conversation. You're going to have scars all around you head for the rest of your life, take this decision more seriously for yourself ffs. -
In my opinion yes, it works better than finasteride anyway and given your early onset you might not more scalp dht reduction if long-term prevention is what you're after.

Switching from oral to topical finasteride after 10 years
TorontoMan replied to jww3's topic in Hair Loss Drugs
Starting topical finasteride is simply just titrating your dose down. Some studies showed that topical fin could have less sides because less of it goes systemic. So if you haven't tried just lowering your dose of oral fin, maybe do that, but topical fin would be the next step after that. -
Best Hair Loss Drug Without Sexual Side Effects
TorontoMan replied to Goblin82's topic in Hair Loss Drugs
Which anxiety of yours is greater? Indefinitely losing more hair or facing the 'risk' (<3%) of sexual side affects. In an ideal world everyone would target this problem at the scalp and we'd all leave our hormones alone. Unfortunately with our current options, finasteride is going closer to the core of the problem then other things. All this being said, I think if you care enough for the success of your HT and the longevity of your hair, you should consider a long term plan where you titrate finasteride slowly so that you could see for yourself how it works for you. As someone above mentioned, even topical finasteride is a good starter to get over that fear. Otherwise your options are some topical anti androgens. On the safer side are CB-03-01 and Fluridil as they are released to some degree. RU58841 is an option, but it is not an approved substance. -
Your hair is insanely thick.. great result bound to happen.

Ah you and I were very similar. Weather the storm that is the next 3-4 months, and you will no doubt have a great outcome soon.

27M Looking into a Hair Transplant
TorontoMan replied to justbelieves's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
You're gonna play yourself with that budget, not considering medication first (esp given your age), and those clinics you've chosen. -
Matthew McConaughey

Biggest loser on this topic, theres a video of him claiming a shampoo brought back his hair.. clearly had a transplant and I believe he wears a wig for his crown -
I wouldn’t expect it to be FDA approved anyway. The mechanism of the drug is well established, and measuring its outcomes topically should be simple to do. Systemic absorption is a matter of conducting blood work over a period of time, and efficacy is a matter of observing the outcome. My hunch is that it’s not as great as promoted. While I think they are able to limit the systemic absorption, which isnt hard to do given a vehicle with a large molecular weight, I don’t believe it’s as efficacious. This is just my assumption, and I could be wrong, but it would be great if they could prove it with any data
-
Pretty disappointing response. This works.. trust us. It’s a shame if this is actually a good formulation, but I won’t be investing $99 a month to roll the dice on it being efficacious. And if it is a good product, then why not release the data to convince your market? Telling me to refer to the the video of dr hasson making unsubstantiated claims is silly
-
The problem is not even fin is enough for some individuals. So while you're sitting on this dilemma, time is working against you and you will progress and eventually you'll get desperate like most people and get on it anyways. Most guys will realize its not as scary as they built it up in their head, and if you do get some side effects you titrate down or look for alternatives. I was in a similar position, but two years later I've understood the trade-offs for myself and hardly think about it anymore.

You're shooting in the dark here. You already know the answer to this. Try topical finasteride to help you get over your fear.

Got ya. Would be great to see whenever you find the time 🙏

Melvin interviewed Dr. Hasson recently who spoke about their new topical finasteride and soon topical dutatseride formulations. Dr. Hasson made some bold claims about the product, saying something along the lines of it going systemic around 5-10% while being nearly almost as effective as oral administration. I have since signed up to their website to get their product and found out that its $99 month, but have not found that data on the trials they did themselves to test their product. I find it a bit absurd that they are willing to sell this product for a whopping $99 a month without putting out this data, so I'm wondering if anyone knows whether or not this has been released?

Hair loss life long progression
TorontoMan replied to Mike10's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
I use Jordan peterson as an example for myself often. He definitely had a ht done, my assumption is with H&W and while his hair isn't "perfect" the amount that was transplanted in addition to the favorable contrast added by his grey hair... you look at the guy and consider he turns 60 this year and you wouldn't think thats true. & if the rest of his hair got worse, you really wouldn't care much if you were JP would you? So for us, most of us being in our 20s and 30s, between fin and transplanting I think its a solid policy to afford you time to get to an age where you either have acceptable density given your age, or you just dont give a yourself. JP would have been 30 when fin was released and likely most men were very reluctant to take it given how new the drug was and how little information anyone had available to them. We are far more equipped now to fight this, we have more than just fin coming our way for prevention and hair transplants are very good nowadays given the right characteristics and doctor. The frustrating thing with all this is there is no right answer, no one could tell you what course of action you should definitely take, but in my opinion, this is worth pursuing until you come to a time where you feel among your "age group" or you simply don't care anymore. -
