I was a Norwood III before I got my hair transplant. I keep my hair long now. I also take finasteride for the preservation of my pre existing hair. My hair looks absolutely voluminous and there are no bald spots showing.

Hey all
I am thinning very badly in the crown area and would love to try something other than oral Finasteride. I am simply tired of popping the pill every single day and can’t see any improvement whatsoever. I have never experienced side effects but I am ready to try something different.
I came across this:
https://www.forhims.com/hair-loss/topical-finasteride
Does anyone have any experience with it? Will it have the same effect as oral Finasteride? Is it a solid alternative or is it a waste of time?
Thanks!
Topical finasteride does not have as much side effects as oral finasteride. However, oral finasteride is more potent. If you're not having any side effects then I'd recommend that you stay on the pill.

PRE-OP AND POST OP PICTURES!
Hello All!
I had the pre-op and post-op photos just sent through by the Eugenix Post Care team via WhatsApp and wanted to share them. I'm also hoping to get the full high resolution images a bit later because i do think the very fine up close quality isn't showing as clearly as it should with the lower compression.
So, i hope to share the pics again soon but here's what i have right now
One thing i have certainly realised having gone through this and buzzed my entire head, i could technically go bald BUT i don't like the head shape at the back personally for it. It's a little too flat to my liking and i'd prefer to keep the hair on my head fingers crossed
Your hair transplant looks stunning. Can't wait to see the results. Wish you the best...

Hi Yall
I just discovered this forum and am amazed by all the results that yall are achieving, so much so, that I would love to get a hair transplant too.
Right now I'm 23 years old and have been losing hair since 16. I've been on and off minoxidil and finasteride but have been taking it for a year consistency right not. I currently have a buzz cut and am not really sure of where I am on the norwood scale or how much grafts I would need to cover up my crown or increase my density. Any advice or guidance regarding hair care or transplant would be greatly appreciated.
Below I have attached pictures
P.S I have been looking at Eugenix and Dr. Arocha and they seem to be a great option.
You don't require a hair transplant at all. If you are experiencing hair loss then you can go for medications. Please do not go for a transplant.

Your donor is good. 3000 grafts can easily be extracted. Its a good thing that you are on Finasteride too.

Oh boy, I've definitely fallen behind. Never even got around to updating last month's post! Apologies for that.
Hopefully I'll have time to get around to it soon!
EDIT: Wozer, first off...major apologies for the lack of update last month. I knew I said in my March post I would come back and update it, but I was actually incredibly busy that month with a lot of life changes going on. Anyways, enough for the excuses...
So I guess this post will contain BOTH March and April updates.
Firstly, in regards to MARCH: I haven't really noticed any major visible or noticeable changes regarding my hairline. I was hoping by the 3rd month on Fin there would be something I could actually see improving, but it seems to be more or less the same. I did notice that some of the balding/thinning areas in the frontal region that really had no hair started to have some filling in...however it sadly seems to be the already miniaturized ones and not new, thicker ones. I kinda expected it to be the miniaturized ones to pop back up, but was hoping that maybe I'd be pleasantly surprised with thicker follicles. Oh, well.
On a separate note, but I feel worth mentioning (since there could be a connection or correlation), but I noticed some more acne flareup...more so than usual, which is quite odd. I pretty much had very clear skin, but while I've been on Fin I've been noticing more cystic flareups mainly near by temples. Once again, this could unrelated, but feel like it's worth mentioning.
MARCH 2, 2022
And finally for April 2022, I can't I detected much change/improvement honestly. Those newer, finer hairs that I mentioned from April continue to grow, however they are still very fine and clearly miniaturized. I guess it's cool there's some hair growing there, but ultimately it won't make a difference in my opinion.
My skin seems to have improved somewhat this month, but I still continue to get the occasional breakout here and there...once again, odd for me since I had clear skin a year ago...
APRIL 1, 2022
I used Finasteride prior to my surgery too. I had a similar case to yours but my baldness was greater. Finasteride will not bring new growth in the frontal zone. The medication will stabilize the progression of baldness. The density in the mid scalp and the crown will increase over time. You should wait for at least 12 months for the results to be visible on the mid scalp and the crown.

A quick post-op question for those who've had their HTs. When is it safe to use hair clippers to buzz/trim the donor area? Most doctors say to refrain from using hair clippers on the recipient area for several months to even a year (cutting with scissors is ok), but what's the consensus on hair clippers the donor area?
You can start using hair clippers after the first headwash itself i.e. usually after 7 days. Provided your donor has healed properly.

Hi all!
I’m 40 y/o. Bald spots started appearing approx. 4 years ago, the receding hairline probably even sooner.
I was thinking about getting smp, but in my opinion the smp hairlines often look weird (and I’d prefer a buzzcut over the shaved effect) , so I thought about doing the hairline (and maybe also some of the other areas) with transplanted hair, and then getting density smp.
But I’m not so eager to take finasteride or minoxidil, as I’m at the moment already on SSRIs.
Do you think in that case the hairtransplant would be in vain?
Also what happens when the hairloss continues and you’re left with only the density type smp? I guess this wouldn’t look good. Do you need to laser it off and get a shaved effect smp then?
Thanks
I am on antidepressants too. I do take Finasteride and there have been no problems so far. You have a great donor area. But it would be sad to not use finasteride after the transplant as new areas would start developing baldness and you would have to go for another transplant again and again in the newly bald areas. Infact, you seem to have good hair in your crown area. Finasteride could be so helpful in reviving those hair, preventing further baldness as well as sustaining the transplanted hair also.

Thanks @Melvin- Moderator
Really appreciate it..
I wasn't going to comment but I feel I MUST..
When someone comments "pluggy Hairline" "sparse " "lower end of the results " might need a second transplant" on a 11 month results, its not constructive criticism in my eyes. So I reported it.
Even when politely told to refrain ..it became a ego issue and an intellectual battle..I am sure I will get a very "Intellectual" reply here telling me to take criticism in a positive way etc..because this guy needs to have the last word..
I am a perfectionist but still i am extremely happy with my results and I got very close to what i wanted to achieve..
And we must not forget.."Hair transplant is the Illusion of Density .!!! "
I am really greatful to this forum and the immense knowledge and support i continue to get here..I am here to pay it forward by sharing my experience ..Not spread negativity
Will continue to post my journey and help and guide whoever DMs me as well..
Before i forget..
I have come a loong way..🙂
That looks wonderful. Please ignore the negativity. I faced the same when I first joined.

Officially month 6 today... Just got back from California and woke up to the reality of crappy New England winter weather. My family in Los Angeles also had no idea I had a hair transplant, they just thought I lost weight, LOL! Granted they don't see me every day, but not much different than my family here in Boston, which I find hilarious.
Huge highlight of the trip was getting a chance to meet up with Melvin, share our experiences, exchange some laughs, and of course, stare endlessly at each others hair transplants!🤣
Great meeting you @Melvin- Moderator! Your own hair transplant journey along with everything else you do as an influencer to this industry, is truly an inspiration to me and anyone else you come in contact with. The work done by Dr. P has to be some of the best I've ever seen, and having seen it up close and personal, I do believe this will be your last and final transplant my friend!
👍👍👍

Not quite at the 6 month mark yet, but definitely hit a milestone today. First haircut at a barber in close to 30 years! Felt great to finally leave my clippers in the bathroom drawer and have just enough hair to style.
Thanks guys for the advice on 2022 dude cuts! @kirkland along with a few others seemed to like Faux Hawk cut, so I went with that one.😁
Thank you for sharing your updates. You look fabulous.

10 Month Update
Apologies for the delay in update
I didn't get a haircut for two months and my hair became quite long and unmanageable to post here.
Finally got a haircut..my hair stylist went a little aggressive on the sides and instead of a gradual fade , trimmed the entire sides and back with 2mm length 🤦
I look like a member of Peaky Fokin Blinders😂
Few Observations:~
~Hairline looks really good and natural.
~Hair density has improved a Lot since last time.
~There are a few weak spots under harsh lightning conditions on the front and left side but under normal light ..it looks really good🙂
~ Longer the hair..Curlier they get😄
Because of thin caliber hair get curlier under their own weight as they get longer..
Need to learn about hair management (blow dry, hair products like clay etc)
~Temple points look very natural BUT..
Left Temple looks a bit sparse..I comb my hair from left to right and it is not very pointed..
Right Temple point is very good though it also looks a bit light...( I have very thin hair caliber and i also have very fair skin so it is what it is)
Also right Temple point hides under my hair style 😄
Dr Priyadarshini told me last time to wait 2 months before we take a call on what to do about it..Will visit the clinic and update later..
@Eugenix Hair Science posted my 8 month video..I wish they waited..it looks so much better now😃
Posting a few pics under different lightning conditions @Melvin- Moderator @Berba11 @JC71 @SLA
I think your hair looks phenomenal. However, do keep sharing your updates even on the 12th and 18 months too.

Yours is truly one of the best hair transplant results I have seen on the forum and was partly what inspired me to get my own transplant done by both Dr.Pradeep and Dr.Arika.
I wanted to ask what brand of Vit E supplements you are taking? I am also looking to get a stack for myself haha
Thank you so much. I am taking Evion 400. I am so happy that my journey helped you in any way. ❤❤❤❤

Fin, minoxidil and other supplements like multivit and biotin (I know really only fin and min are the real deal). No laser therapy.
I've noticed a little bit of improvement from month 2-3 but not much. Hoping things really take off as I approach and pass the 4 month mark. Truly is a mental game at this point.
The fact that you are doing everything that you are supposed to (taking medications and multivitamins), there is nothing to worry about. My regrowth really picked up around the 6th month. So please don't worry if the growth is delayed as well. But looking at your pictures, your growth seems to be starting.

Can pubic hair be used as donor?
in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Posted
Pubic hair can be used as donor. However, they would grow slower than the scalp or beard hair. They would also not attain the length of the scalp or beard hair.
