  1. What does this mean exactly? 50% of the grafts have started growing? If so, how is this accurate as the telogen phase lasts 3 months, should we see 100% of the growth happening at 3-5 months? Or does this percentage mean 50% of how the end result density will "look"?
  2. Hey! Thank you for the kind words =) i looked at your thread and wow, if I have anything like your progress I will be over the moon!.I am a bit paranoid because I can't see any new hairs, could it be that some have an early burst of growth and then nothing? I have read about the different stages of growth and from what I can conclude you don't really experience any NEW hairs after the first four months, only maturation and thickening of the current hairs, is this correct?
  3. I hope so, i can't help but think that the balder spots are where I had those huge cracks in the first weeks which is why I'm worried
  4. 3 months or 93 days I am hoping for a growth explosion this month as I am starting to worry a bit about the density, especially the bald spots, but its still early to say. I am trying to see if there are tiny hairs coming there but its really difficult to tell.. on a plus note my donor itch is almost completely gone. On a negative, I am shedding some hair from the back and top of my head, not sure why but hoping it will stop soon. Crown has seen no improvement as far as I can tell.
  5. I didn't opt for the IV sedation but I wish I had, second day was pure agony for me but everyone is different with different pain thresholds. The xanax helps your nerves but not the pain.
  6. Day 80 update Hello again my friends, I figured I will make more regular updates since things are happening faster now. During the past two weeks I have started seeing some growth, mainly in the temple areas. There are weak/bald spots here and there, and the follicles are not nearly dense enough so I am hoping there will be even more hairs appearing in the coming weeks. This period has been the most difficult so far, I keep going into the bathroom every hour to look for new hairs, I feel like an idiot. On the other hand, Its also the first time I am entertaining the prospect of actually being able to have a proper haircut by the end of the year, the thought really lifts me up. =) will do an update in ten days on the three month mark, density is my worry now (when isn't it?), hoping for more hairs to start sprouting between the ones already there. Thanks for the support so far! Ps. the pictures are not very appealing, I have oily skin and we have a heatwave here, just a heads up incase you were eating a burrito while browsing
  7. Hang in there, the donor problems slowly go away, in my case they are not gone completely but not even close to as bad as one month ago, it gets better. Use aloe vera and antihistamines regularly so you don't scratch the pimples.
  8. I hope you are right about finasteride, just worried about my 40's because im positive i will care as much as i do now, if not more. I know this because when i was in my 20's i thought i wouldnt give a shit about my hair in my thirities, boy was i wrong. Wish i had gotten on fin 10 years ago but i didnt know of it back then. I have not seen any cases where they mixed body hair + donor, do you know of any?
  9. Im curious about this, how are you planning for the future? Even with finasteride there will be hair loss, what happens down the line if you need another transplant? I am considering body hair for the crown and top, and saving every last donor hair for the front hairline, what do you think?
  10. Thank you for the update mate, i thnik you are being very generous to the clinic in saying you will wait 18 months, i am very interested in what they have to say. Do you remember who your technicians were?
  11. Please post updates mate, what is the clinic saying about your density?
  12. Speachless, wow.. congratulations mate, hope you are happier now because that looks.fantastic.
  13. Hello mate, yes i agree with him being a moron, and me a bigger one for taking them but he is a very accomplished specialist in my city so I trusted him at the time. However aftter consulting my friends who are doctors they agree that giving me the strongest antibiotics for mild folliculitis was really lazy of him. Im paranoid about the redness whenever im in the sun even with my baseball cap.
  14. Hey mate, yes i know, im mostly worried since the redness went away and now its red again and donor is once again very very itchy despite taking antibiotics, i will schedule with the dermatologist again on monday to be sure, but I have an appointment with another specialist in june to hopefully cure the folliculitis =(
  15. Month 2 update Hey guys, its been 8 weeks now since my hair transplant and it has been a difficult period for sure, but I have basically just been trying to get on with my life and bit think about it too much. About week 4 my scalp and donor started itching horribly so I went to the dermatologist who said I had mild folliculitis. My recipient is really red right now which is very worrying, clinic said its due to inflammation indicating growth, has anyone heard this before? Super worried about the redness because it didn't look nearly as red two weeks ago!
  16. Hi mate, just wanted to ask you if the clinic suggested prp or was it your own request? They never gave me the option and apparently you have to request it to get it.. I asked why and they said it wasn't required in my case, not sure why since from what I have read it always has at least a positive effect, at worst no effect, so why not be safe and do it for everyone?
  17. I was under the impression that the density you see at around 8 months is what you get more or less, perhaps I'm mistaken? Holding my thumbs for you.
  18. If this is the final density it is definitely a botched operation.. 3200 grafts should not look like this at the final stage.
  19. So you mean he will fill in the front area from your first operation? I was under the impression that you can only squeeze in so many grafts in an area? Do you know if its easier to create higher density in two different operations that are a time apart?
  20. Here is a picture if my donor area. Looks very patchy right now, hoping it will fill in later.
  21. The outline is where the anesthetics are to be injected.
  22. Where are you having then put mate? Where is the frontal third located? You look fantastic
  23. Thank you for clarifying! I demand a lot from my doctor and I think this is in order, having said that I agree about the design itself, the shape is not bad, its just a bit low. As for the cracks I believe they indicate poor post operative washing, the first wash is critical in this from the opinions I've seen from other doctors. We are all in the same boat here and while there is some responsibility which falls on the patient as far as research and expectations go, ultimately the surgeon or doctor must make the most ethical choice for the patients own good, and are utmost responsible to give full disclosure of the short and long term risks. In any case, I'm hoping for the best and will keep you guys updated on my progress, writing here has been cathartic =)
  24. Day 13, first day back to work Had quite some anxiety about going back to work over the weekend until I realized I don't really care what people think, I'm not going to openly advertise my procedure but if some asks I will be open and honest. I don't really think you can tell either. Recipient is a bit red but since I am darker you it's not that obvious, what do you guys think?
