  1. Are some of the pics prior to plucking? I think your hair looks good either way dude. Plucked looks slightly better (a bit more masculine) but in the seemingly non-lucked pics i think it still looks really good. If it bothers you lasering them out is probably best option. Could also wait until you lose more hair and then have them transplanted to a better spot.
  2. Finasteride is generally a very safe drug and really the only "silver bullet" we have to fight hair loss currently. Further, millions of men take the 5 MG dose daily (for BPH issues) without issue. Although side effects do happen, at such a low dose my initial thought is that your issues are possibly psychosomatic--which is pretty common. I had similar concerns which caused me to delay starting the drug for approximately 6 months, which I now regret. I would suggest a very slow taper (the smallest possible dose you can cut, once a week) and go from there. Important not to consciously think about the side effects as the placebo effect can be very strong. With such a small dose and short half-life it's unlikely that enough of the drug will even be in your system to give you physical issues. If you do still have issues, there's still hope. For example, Melvin the moderator doesn't use a DHT blocker and his hair looks great. Though, you'll need to be prepared for the possibility of more extensive restoration surgery sooner rather than later. Hope this helps.
  3. Dr. Diep has lot's of reschedules so it's unlikely you'll need to wait til October if you can be flexible with your schedule. Mine was originally scheduled for June 2019 but I was able to reschedule to first week January 2019 due to reschedules. I was contacted with options for two earlier times that I wasn't able to make work so I think as long as you let them know you'd like to be notified of any reschedules you'll likely get in sometime in the spring.
  4. Where do you get Dutasteride? Assuming a doc won't prescribe it if it's not FDA approved for hair loss...
  5. Interesting idea. Not looking to fuck around with my regimen right now since i'm going under the knife next week and don't want to shock my system more than necessary. Provided I get good results, and no longer need to rely on concealers as much (or hopefully at all) adding minoxidil back into the regimen seems like a good idea.
  6. The "Minoxidil dependent" hair sounds like broscience to me as well. That term actually worried me when I quit using Minoxidil a few years ago, but after quitting I haven't noticed any difference. For me, Minoxidil was to difficult to apply 2x/day (or even 1x/day) while using concealers (i.e., Dermmatch and Toppik).
  7. Very timely article as I'm currently debating this for my upcoming procedure with Dr. Diep. Per the article, and some additional research, I'm thinking potentially it makes sense to opt for the Acell--since it's FDA approved to treat wounds--to speed up the recovery process. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear either Acell or Amnio fill has conclusive evidence supporting better growth post-transplant.
  8. A few questions for those users who've had prior procedures with Dr. Diep: 1. Did you opt for an additional A-Cell injection for the $500 extra? Why or why not? 2. Did you opt for the Amnio Fill injection for the $600 extra? Why or why not? 3. Did Dr. Diep mention when you would be allowed to use concealers (e.g., Dermatch, Toppik, etc.) post-op?
  9. Is it normal to have 10,500 grafts at your disposal (without using BH)? Seems like you lucked out and are on the high end of the distribution. Results looks fantastic btw.
  10. No such thing as a happy holiday when you're losing your hair. Just kidding, Happy Holidays!!!!
  11. I've heard this rumor as well. I did a quick google search on Proscar prices a few weeks ago and decided they were too high to switch. Generic seems to be working fine for me.
  12. Looks awesome Legend! Your donor is super thick so I'm expecting a home run result. Pretty cool Dr. Hasson explicitly guaranteed his work, and put it in writing. When I asked Dr. Diep to do the same he said no lol.
  13. You're in good hands with ASMED and glad to read you hopped on Finasteride. Looking forward to seeing this in 6-12 months.
  14. I was trying to figure out if you'd changed your name or I was losing my mind lol. Definitely read through your threads multiple times when deciding on surgeon. Hoping to get a result even half as good as yours! BTW, who's the male model in your avatar?
  15. Just reread this long ass thread start to finish. Your result is amazing and you're looking aesthetic AF now! Congrats dude!
  16. Legend brings up a good point--think you need some vitamin P regardless of whether you get another procedure or not. Have you tried tapering up? Some people start with a tiny dose once a week and then gradually increase. Seems to mitigate side effects. Hairline looks good post-op.
  17. Hello fellow Norwoods. I will be taking the plunge for my second procedure in approximately 3 weeks. Per the suggestions on this forum, as well as youtube videos, I decided to go with Dr. Diep for my second procedure. From my research Dr. Diep seems to have a very high skill level as well as a great eye for overall aesthetics. I will be getting 1300 FUE grafts, with the primary goal of adding density and a secondary goal of slightly lowering the hairline. Want to say thanks for all the feedback I got in my first post. Specifically the following contributors deserve a shout out for their help in my, and other threads: HSRP10, HTsoon, Vermaj, ModernHair, Speegs, JeanLDD (aka the "straight-shooter" lol), Bill. I will aim to update my thread at least monthly, with more updates during the crucial first month post-op. Happy Holidays!
  18. Vermaj my friend, You got a nice looking result, happy for you!
  19. Hey all, A bit late but attached are my 12/14 month update pictures. I grew my hair a bit longer per forum recommendations. Looking for honest feedback, advice moving forward, as well as styling options.
