  1. Just curious about H&W's response. Was it because of your particular hair loss/case or their existing caseload/schedule? In your original post you mentioned you scheduled your HT last year, so I assume that's when you contacted H&W. Have you tried them recently? I guess it is rather late now, considering your procedure is just a little more than 2 weeks away and I'm sure you've already purchased your airline tickets and obtained your visa. I was just curious as to why H&W responded as they did, for future reference.
  2. I would use Emu oil in conjunction with coconut oil. Patent US5958384 - Use of emu oil for stimulating skin and hair growth - Google Patents
  3. Awesome results! Her smile speaks volumes. I've read that post-menopausal women can take finasteride. And minoxidil, which stimulates the hair follicle can be used by all women. I'd like to know, if there are any reported cases where minoxidil was effective in regrowing hair which suffered loss due to medication, traction alopecia, stress, etc. ?
  4. Thank you for the post Dr. Feller. We need more "what to expect" pre-op and most certainly post op informational posts such as yours, from surgeons such as yourself. I think a lot of post-op "panic calls" may be eliminated. I believe Spex's posts have calmed quite a few, who may have otherwise been on the phone or at the surgeons office expressing concern over "no growth/results". (I know his posts have helped me.)
  5. This is awesome progress! You should be excited. You are a fast grower for sure.
  6. malcolm89 - ITA with Spidey about not seeking another 10 day prescription of an antibiotic and taking a probiotic. For this issue, and any future health issues, you may want to consider natural antibiotics. My top 2 are Wild Oil of Oregano (P73) and Garlic. There are others but I prefer these two. I buy the WOO in the little dropper bottle @ ~45.00 for half an ounce, at a health food store I take one or two drops in a teaspoon and chase it with orange juice or gingerroot tea. Frequency depends on what I'm taking it for. I buy fresh garlic and steep it slowly - then drink it, especially If I contracted a bad cold or flu. it is also an excellent anti-inflammatory. I drink a gingerroot drink throughout the year (cold iced tea in summer and hot tea in winter) to help deliver anti-inflammatory relief to these aging bones.
  7. Born, my mind plays the same trick on me every time I touch my hair, look at my hair - so yeah - everyday. Dr. BB - thanks for the affirmation - again - to all of us impatient patients.
  8. Wow Spyk - your results are outstanding for 5.5 months. It's results like yours, in such a short time period, that make us "slow growers" shake in our boots and run to the mirror. (ha-ha) Congratulations!
  9. It could be my eyes - but his hair is combed very differently in the post PRP/ACell picture, to the degree that it looks as if it is covering the balding crown in the pre PRP/ACell picture.
  10. donniedarko - I was glad to see you cancelled your appointment. I am nowhere near as informed as many of the members on the forum, but I now know enough to understand the importance of a credible facility. My procedure was a third of your grafts and I am still concerned about my results . Nothing is guaranteed but having a firm degree of confidence in the reputation, skill and experience of your surgeon is paramount. The anticipation with post op, waiting is agonizing enough without the added uncertainty of if the facility/surgeon was a good choice. I had my procedure prior to discovering HRN and I wish I had discovered it pre op, rather than post op. You were a lot wiser than I by finding the forum and it appears you are even wiser by heeding members advice. 3000 grafts is a significant number of grafts accompanied with a significant amount of money, neither of which any of us have any over abundance of, no matter our financial situation, so getting the best use from both should be the objective. Best of luck to you on your future HT.
  11. Matt thank you for your post. I know this is Eddie's thread but I saw your suggestion to see Dr. Konior for a "sanity check". I sometimes have a need to travel to Chicago for business, so I will book an appointment with Dr. Konior at my six month mark, after my appointment with the facility which did the HT. I don't suffer from MPB and I'm not sure I will have another procedure but I want my areas of loss to improve.
  12. Your post and BaldingBogger's post are very timely in that they give me hope. I am 4 month post op from FUE and I have no growth. I am trying to be patient - but as you are experiencing, it is difficult. Especially since, finding this site, I now realize the facility and technicians would not be considered "reputable" for HT. The doctor of facility never came into the room during the entire procedure. Not sure if it is legal in US for technicians to do entire procedure. I hope that my growth is just delayed. Your results look very good thus far, and with the small hairs you mentioned, your results will only get better.
  13. Great results and hair transformation. Congratulations.
  14. I must be honest - I did not know about this site but I researched other sites before HT. Many doctors do not post on other sites due to cost. Some years ago, I did have consultation with doctor recommended here - but experience was bad I abandoned idea of having HT This year I went to another doctor (not recommended on this forum I see now), had consultation and cost given was $11K for 1000 grafts -this did not sound good - I think I was being cheated. Went to next doctor and given good price - like doctor from years ago. I committed to surgery - but technicians performed ALL of the procedure. The doctor never came to procedure. I asked technicians why - they say doctor train them. This place is not small it has many doctors - many procedures. Perhaps too many procedures? I have important question - many of you have Stats? how many grafts had 1 hair, 2 hair etc. Is that common practice for hairs per graft to be tracked? My doctor office did not have counts. :-( What is done is done and cannot be changed. I do have concern but I will wait. HT may be OK. I have no growth yet - but I know it is early. Well known, recommended doctors have bad HT, hopefully unknown technicians have good transplant. Only time will tell. Post op instructions I was given were: Plain Tylenol only no ibuprofen meds, codeine etc. no other hair applications for 10 days gently wash hair daily with baby shampoo- no rubbing sleep upright to reduce swelling. I was not told to use any saline solution, but I was provided cortizone to help with healing I do not want to share doctor or office name now, as it is too early and results may be good. It would not be good thing to give bad impression if results are very good in future time.
  15. Hello, I am new to forum and this is very first post. I have been reading many posts to get more information about Post HT expectations. I had a FUE in July this year. Little less than 1100 grafts. I realize no real growth should be expected until after 4 months and I am not getting anxious. But I see your post and I am experiencing same thing as bolded in your post. My recipient area is just as smooth and no small spots, no small spikes, no increase in itching as it was before HT. I will be patient, because I do not want to slow growth with nervousness and worry. If no growth in 8 months and area still smooth, I will start to worry. I post here because if it is not normal for area to still be very smooth, I hope a member will post and advise. Thank you.
