  1. beautiful result dude. really a shame that doganay can produce work like that and yet he totally botched so many other guys, me included. very jealous lol.
  2. Gillenator - my doc has had his recommendation from this website suspended, not his license. He was letting techs implant grafts instead of doing so himself, and lots of guys posted threads of poor results over the past couple years. A shame I didn't learn about this sooner; it all became known literally 1 month after my transplant. I had seen many convincing results by the surgeon all over the internet and he was regarded by many as one of the best FUE surgeons around. I like your idea of consulting another surgeon just to get an idea of whether there's anything I can do to maximize growth at this point. Again, I am concerned that a layer of skin has simply healed over a disaster area, and that freeing up that skin might help grafts that are struggling to grow underneath. I'll also start applying the aloe vera cream to continuing healing the recipient area. Thanks again for your suggestions and help.
  3. (Duplicate post, this site really doesn't play well with my browser)
  4. Thank you everyone for the helpful comments. I'm somewhere around the 4-month mark and unfortunately the result is at this point pretty underwhelming compared to so-called "good results" at the same time frame. It's definitely still early in the game, but I'm setting my expectations very low at this point given the recent outpour of poor results from my doc coupled with the fact that he's been suspended. That being said, I do see a lot of activity on the left side of my head that isn't going to show up in the photo. Tons of small vellus hairs have appeared and I'm hoping they mature. It's the other side I'm worried about as it seems pretty deserted at this point. While no longer infected, my recipient zone has a rough, cobblestone look to it, and I'm concerned that grafts may somehow be trapped underneath dead skin that has healed over from the outbreak. Should I be scrubbing my scalp with a brush to remove any excess skin? Should I be applying some sort of anti inflammatory cream or any other topical to my head? Here's the update: Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet Again, thanks for all of the help. This has been a great resource for me and I hope to return in a few months with a solid result.
  5. Looks awesome! Here's something I just thought of: Everyone seems to be blaming the poor Doganay results on the fact that techs are implanting hairs. But if Doganay always implants the hairlines exclusively and then lets the techs help with other stuff... wouldn't that mean that the poor results in Paleo's thread should all have nice hairlines, if that's the only issue? None of them do. This doesn't excuse the clinic from allowing techs to implant hairs, but I don't see how it's possible to claim that the sole reason they're getting poor results is that the techs were used. It doesn't add up. They should all have good hairlines.
  6. Happy new year Paleo and thanks for checking in. Look forward to seeing your results.
  7. Things could be looking at least slightly better for him to disappear for a couple weeks after being so obsessive, although his 6 month results were pretty lacking. He definitely did the community a solid by bringing this to light. That being said, I'd have to chuckle a bit if he ends up with an awesome result after all this. Unfortunately I don't think that will be the case, but who knows? I've read every link he posted though, and it's definitely alarming to see that many bad results, especially when the overwhelming majority of the doc's patients are probably Turkish, meaning they wouldn't be on this English-speaking site posting results. That's a lot of foreigners flying to Turkey and getting poor results. That being said, we all know that the guys who have killer results rarely return to tell the tale. None of that changes anything about the clinic's practices of course. They deserved to be suspended imo, but it'd be nice to see Paleo get a good result all the same.
  8. Paleo, any updates at the 7 month mark? I'm sure I'm not the only one who's interested in seeing how you're progressing. Thanks.
  9. This is complete and total butchery by 2015 standards. Anyone defending a clinic capable of this is irrational/grossly uninformed and doesn't deserve a discussion. It's not complicated, look at the pics. If you defend this clinic you defend butchery. Checkmate, no need for anyone to bother responding to this fellow as he's clearly behind the times and a distraction.
  10. Hey guys, thanks again for all your responses. I decided not to get more antibiotics and thankfully the folliculitis has dramatically improved and does not seem to be recurring after the antibiotic regimen. Hopefully I will now be able to focus on other stuff and just let the regrowth do its thing. Still a bit pink on the scalp but that's to be expected as I have quite fair skin. I'm still only 3 months out so there is still another month before I should start to see growth. That being said, I am seeing some definite activity as there are several new thin hairs sprouting up in various spots. Still nothing close to cosmetically different but heading in the right direction.
  11. Update: I've been on antibiotics for the past 10 days. The infection has cleared up dramatically, which leads me to believe I should have been on antibiotics many weeks ago. I've also noticed that I still have about 50-75 hairs that have yet to shed from the initial transplant, however they are not growing at all. They're just sitting in the same place they've been since the day of the transplant, and I can easily tweeze them out as though there's nothing really holding them there. Is this a bad sign? With all this unusual stuff going on I'm beginning to doubt that I will get a good result. But it's still early in the game so we'll see. I was only given 10 days worth of oral antibiotics and I still have a lot of redness. I think I'm going to play it safe and get on another 10 day regimen, which should do the trick once and for all.
  12. Gotcha, thanks for responding. I'll visit a doctor and get on some antibiotics asap.
  13. Thanks for replying, yeah I figured it was pretty bad but it had been healing up prior to this week. Now I'm having another outbreak so it's definitely a problem that needs to be treated right away. I still have no clue if this is affecting my grafts or not. I don't understand how so little information can be available online about this issue. Everything I've read says that folliculitis and pimples are too superficial to harm grafts, but I'm gonna be pretty upset if my transplant is ruined based on something that I should have had treated months ago.
  14. Here are some slightly higher res pics, I'm having trouble capturing this on my phone's camera: Imgur As you can see I'm having yet another outbreak of this. Surely it's some sort of infection? My scalp itches and slightly burns. I'd like to know if there is some way to tell if the little hairs I'm losing are grafts or just scabby hairs. They have a sort of "crust" or "flake" attached to them at the root. Not sure if that's relevant or not. Again, I'm maintaining my cool until it's been several more months, but this is definitely not a common occurrence. Is there some sort of topical antibiotic that would help me here? Edit: I've googled what grafts look like, and the hairs that I'm losing do not really resemble grafts. Good sign I suppose, but this is my first rodeo.
  15. Thank you for this response. I do believe there are lots of hair fragments beneath the surface that are contributing to the inflammation. I am at work now, but will post clearer photos when I get back home tonight.
