  1. Google azelaic acid and hair loss and read up on it. I use the dht blocker made by kourosh that contains 5% aa, zinc, and b vitamins. I honesty cannot say if it does or doesn't work. I've been on it for a year now. I just restarted using topical Spiro (s5 cream). I use the aa and S5 twice a day and minox before bed. Only time will tell to see how well my regimen works. My hairloss was very slow to begin with. Basically a nw1 to nw2 in approx ten years. At this point I'm afraid to get off min due to the possible shed. I honestly don't think it really did much for me as I started using it for my hairline which it didn't really save for me. If I really wanted to know whether my treatments worked or not I would stop using one at a time and see it just hairloss accelerated, which I am not about to risk.
  2. Why do these posts keep coming up from the same clinic? The reason FUE is opening up shop around the world is because of trend and fad and unethical doctors taking advantage of desperate individuals. Just like when the strip procedure first was available, I am sure a boat load of doctors jumped on board and offered it even though they weren't very good at it. The difference is the internet now adays allows for more advertisement and people to display how unhappy they are with certain things. At the end of the day, the Dr should and can recommend what they believe is best for the client, but it is up to the client. Imo, if you plan on wearing your hair short and don't require that many grafts, fue is the way to go. If you wear your hair longer and require more grafts and have a nw pattern that appears to genetically predispose you to a higher nw, fut is the way to go. Even if you like to wear your hair short but have a higher nw, I would say you either should get used to a buzzed head or get used to wearing your hair longer on the sides and back and get fut. Fue has it's limitations for sure. Fut does but the only one I can think of is not being able to wear your hair as short, and the recovery time (which in the grand scheme of things isnt a big deal). Fue scars are actually easier to conceal with smp as well, where as fut is very difficult. Check the link in my signature. I had about 1000 grafts done via fue. I wear my hair pretty damn short. Number one to a number two fade. The clippers used is from an oster classic where their number one is actually shorter than traditional number ones. There is NO WAY you can cut your hair that short with fut. Does fue leave scarring, yes. But is it easier to conceal with shorter cuts, yes. Of course there are different variables but the point I am making is that there is a place for both. And at the very end or the day, if the client is happy that is all that matters. LeBron had fut. U can see the scar on the right side of his head. But I am sure he's had more than one procedure.
  3. Also if you're worried about FIN try topical Spiro and or topical Azalaic Acid. I am currently using both along with rogainefoam
  4. How long have you had a shaved head for. Maybe give it some time to get used to? It is definitely a big change and I would let it sink in for a while.
  5. Personally the crown is something I wouldn't even really worry about. In seven years you will be almost 40. Maybe it's just me but if I was 40 and had a decent hairline and mid, i would be happy. Even in my kid 30s my whole outlook now vs two years ago is completely different.
  6. Have to say that is really red. You should really contact your surgeon and show him or her the pics. That isn't "normal". The donor area does look obvious because of the redness, but it also found be due to factors like size of the punch used , your hair quality, and the pattern of the punches. From my experience, it didn't seem like aloe or witch hazel really did much for me, but who knows.
  7. Mine was light pink for the longest time and still is after showers and under florescent lights. It isn't noticeable with the grafts grown out but if I shaved it down you could probably tell. Under normal room lighting you can't really tell. After about three months you could only tell the light pink under florescent lighting. The crummy part is that almost two years in, I would have thought all discoloration would have resolved itself. I'm not sure if it will eventually or not. Texture wise I actually found that once all the hairs shed post op, the recipient area was smooth like the surrounding skin. Once the hairs started to come in, that's when I noticed the texture diff in the skin. You will probably remain at least slightly pink until the hair grows out and you stop paying attention to the colour.
  8. Yea but when it comes to your own child, why would you even risk it over some follicles. I sure wouldn't. You don't know what kind of changes it could be doing that isn't physically seen. That's just my opinion. But I wouldn't even take FIN myself, let alone risk why cross contamination to my loved ones.
  9. Oh and as for the donor area, smp seems to turn it very well on fue scars since it's easier to camouflage.
  10. Biolizard. Do you have pics or your recipient area post op from months 1 onward? Reason I ask is because I just took a look at my post op pics from month 1,2,3. And noticed that the recipient areas were still quite smooth and the texture change didn't really happen until hairs starting to break through after the shed. So the texture issue may simple be the hair shafts under the skin causing this. If so then laser hair removal should help make the skin soother then what it looks like if u just shave it with a razer. Reading info about vbeam lasers minimizing redness is also encouraging.
  11. For me the redness didn't really improve that much until the two month mark. It was pretty pink at one month and then gradually faded very slowly. By the two month mark it looked like mild sun burn and was mainly light pink. It improved all the way to five months which is when my hair started to grow longer so it also camouflaged. Two years later I can still tell it gets a bit oink after getting out of the shower or when I rub it. But it isn't noticeable otherwise. I used my wife's makeup during the one month mark because I had a wedding to go to. Not sure if anyone noticed or not. No one said anything.
  12. Doesn't look bad at all... I am not a professional but if it were me, I would ask a qualified and experienced surgeon to see whether they could FUE the actual hairline/flap and redistribute the hairs in the mid and crown, and also into the hairline to soften it up and hide he scar at the hairline. This way you wouldn't have to tap into the donor region that much... You have pictures of the donor area? The hairline is really thick and I think you can get away with removing some of the hair via FUE and redistributing it. Also, how old are you?
  13. I know what you mean by looking "hard". I was in the same boat. I looked fine with it but it didn't go with my personality and even my style in clothing. But looking back now I I was a nw2 with very slow hairloss. I could have gone into my 40s styling my hair and no one would have noticed. But I wanted to be able to style my hair up and back. I won't go for further hts if my hairloss progresses behind my ht. I just hope there's not much texture and color diff in the recipient skin area if I ever buzz my head. I would have to Bic or laser the recipient hair if i go down hat route. If you plan on multiple hts if required you obviously have nothing to worry about as buzzing will never be able option for you.
  14. Not to sound rude but why are you taking it so personally when people aren't replying to the thread? There are hundreds if not thousands of threads similar to yours regarding the work you had done. People like to see before and few months after until they reply. On the front of your problem with your girlfriend, you already received advice from people. One which I agree with is just telling her. I know you're insecure but you really don't think she won't notice that you had thinning when you first started dating and later on you have a full head of hair? You've already received advice about how to conceal your ht but reality is when she gets up and personal with you, she will be able to tell something is up. So you will either have to tell her the truth or lie and say something happened that caused whatever it is that she sees. Lastly, are you cutting the donor area since the ht? Even a week post ht, the donor area should be long enough to conceal the fue marks. Unless the Dr didn't spread it out well, or used a very big punch.
  15. Did you consider shaving ur head and seeing if you like the look? I know it's too let now but reading your first post just now, and I would have suggested buzzing your head to a number 1 and seeing you can pull off the look.
  16. How does the recipient area look if shaved down to the skin though
  17. I am kind of in the same boat as you but my donor area can be buzzed down to e number 1 without any scars being visible. I am also concerned about the texture and colour of my recipient sites if I do shave it down or laser the transplanted hair away. All the pictures I have seen when it comes to people who shave their head years after a HT look fine but are ones who had hairs transplanted all over their scalp and not in concentrated areas like their temples.
  18. It could be due to the different hair cycles or just the texture of the hair. My transplanted hair was initially crinkly and took about a good year for the majority of it to settle down and become softer looking and more like the rest of my head. I am nearly 2 years post op and al if not all are no longer crinkly. The crinkly hair actually made my HT look more dense as well
  19. It is really up to you. If you look at my link, I was only a NW 2 and could style my hair in a way that no one could tell my hairline was receding. The rest of my hair was really thick and still is. Looking back though, if I could do it all over again, I would not have gotten a HT. I look pretty good with a buzzed head and I think I could have hidden my hairloss well into my 40s. Don't get me wrong, I am very happy with the results of my HT, and the reason why I got it was to be able to style my hair however I want, which I can. The thing I regret is really thinking it through in terms of whether I would get further HTs if required later down the road. At this point in my life, I do not think I would want to keep playing catch up. I don't like the idea of losing more donor hair. I can buzz the back of my head at a number 1, and the FUE marks aren't visible, and i want to keep it that way. In the future, if I continue to recede, I plan on doing laser hair removal on my transplanted area and just buzz my hair down to a number 1 all around. I am almost 2 years post op and my hair is still hanging in there without obvious signs of recession behind my transplanted hair, but who knows what nature has in store for me in the upcoming years. My only concern with my plan to buzz my head is that the recipient area is still pinkish after I take a shower. I have read that scars can take up to two years to fully mature, but am not sure if this is a permanent thing or something that will eventually disappear over time. If it doesn't fade away over time, it will be concerning, and I am hoping there are topical creams or lasers that could fix that as well. Sorry for the long post, but IMO after having gone through a HT (a very successful one), I personally would not get one unless you were at least a NW 3. This way, even if you slowly lost your native hair, it wouldn't look that bad. For me, I only had my corners done and if I further lose hair, it will start to look really bad. If you plan on multiple HT to catch up for the rest of your life, that is something you will have to think about when deciding on your HT. For me, I am one and done.
  20. I actually found the segment a good warning for the general public who were oblivious to all the negatives that could come out of hair transplants.
  21. Has anyone tried using silicone scar sheets on recipient, and or fue/fut scarring? If so what are your experiences. Thanks.
  22. I agree with WA. Any reputable Dr would have been able to harvest 5000 with just fut or just fue. Don't know why you had to to a combination unless you had scalp laxity issues. For 5000 o would have expected better. But your satisfaction is what is most important.
  23. Definitely a bit sparse looking at the hairline as the gaps between each follicle are too large.
  24. I had pimples in the donor area as well. Lasted up to probably three months? My donor was pretty itchy too but all was fine after a few months. The distance from hairline to eyebrow was irrelevant to me too. I was more concerned about density and naturalness than an adolescent hairline.
