  1. In that case, I was always thought Dr Radha was solely an FUT practitioner, this was the case when I considered her whilst doing my own research back in 2014.
  2. Hi Goonerfan, You are about 9 months into your surgery, you might want to wait until 12 months before assessing your next move. Looking at your hair, it does look a little wiry, this will settle as the hairs mature into their natural state. Hopefully you still have some more hairs waiting to push through. You might want to contact your surgeon after 12 months to see whether he will do a repair for free if the patch that has not grown remains in a similar state. But for now, you should carry on with your aftercare routine and wait. Are you taking Finasteride, Minoxidil and Biotin? In my opinion these medications will help growth following surgery.
  3. Hi Kuboid, I think you should provide some pics which will enable posters to provide a more accurate assessment of your requirements.
  4. Hi Goonerfan, it's difficult to judge your result without seeing your pre-op pictures. However I would suggest another pass of 1500-2000 grafts will provide you with the added density to give you a result you will pleased with. Feel free to contact me if you need any other help or advice.
  5. Hi Fallenone, If you have look at my patient write up in the link below, http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html You will see that I had a similar hair loss pattern to you and your hair quality too seems remarkably similar. I was quoted a similar amount of grafts to you and I received 3305 grafts which gave me one of the best results you will see anywhere online. Therefore I would say Dr Bhatti's recommendation of approximately 3500 grafts is spot on. Not sure why the other doctor should quote you 6000 grafts, it is way off the mark in my opinion. Please feel free to get in touch with me should you need any help and advice.
  6. Hi Frank, If you decide to fly to India, then direct flights are available to Delhi or Mumbai from London. To get to Chandigarh you would have to get a connecting flight from Delhi (1 hour flight) or Mumbai (2 hour flight). Most connecting flights are in the late morning or early afternoon so it's best to fly out from the UK on an evening flight. You can book this all in via Jet Airways, Air India or Virgin Airways. Or you can just get a separate connecting flight from Delhi or Mumbai with an internal carrier such as Spice Jet or GoIndigo for about ?40 return. In some cases I do plan the trip for patients including booking their flights and processing visas. If you need any assistance then please feel free to ask.
  7. Hi, Your doner area looks good from what I can see from the limited view and I think to restore and strengthen your hairline and temples you will need in the region of 1800 - 2000 grafts. Because of your low level of baldness and your doner area appearing to be thick and plentiful, I would personally say you was a good candidate for FUE. Patients are advised to go on FIN (1mg) and Minox (5%) for at least 6-12 months following surgery and possibly 2-3 months prior. If during that time the medication causes problems then there is the option of reducing the dosage amount/time between dosage with regards to Fin or switching to a different make with regards to Minox. If problems persist, then patients are advised to stop taking the medication altogether. As for PRP, the few patients I have sent who have had it done have championed it, they say it helped in their recovery/healing, one repair patient in particular. I have personally never had PRP but might just give it a go myself next time I'm visiting India. Also, you mention Delhi. I just wondered whether you have considered Dr Bhatti's Darling Buds Clinic in Chandigarh just an hour's flight away from Delhi.
  8. Hi Jay, Sounds like you've been busy, that's a great informative post. Doctors in general do seem to be saying whatever is in their interests. In the case of HT doctors, it's very difficult to predict how a given patients skin will heal but generally it is proven in the vast majority of cases, it will heal in "time". This is probably why HT doctors just advise patients to wait, there is simply little they can do from their end, they have most likely been through the experience many times before with other patients where the "do nothing " approach came good in "time". Now moving on to Dermatologists, it does appear they are horrified whenever a person willfully inflicts damage to their skin, indeed in the case of HT surgery, this horror is magnified tenfold. I suppose it goes against all they stand for. Therefore an element of critique does tend to kick in and I've yet to read a case where a Dermatologist actually praised the work of any HT Surgery, it probably won't happen in my lifetime. Some patients will worry more than others about the outcome of their HT surgery. If a patient is a worrier then a trip to the dermatologist generally tends to escalate that worry factor tenfold. This in term causes unnecessary stress therefore in my opinion the patient is not at 100%, therefore it will affect progress and recovery. This can probably be applied to most surgeries. I think in your case, your hair is growing out and will somewhat start to disguise the redness until it fades in time. I think you have accepted that your redness is destined to accompany you yet for a while. Just a suggestion, but why don't you try massaging the area of redness in the evenings with a thin layer of Vaseline and leave it on overnight. I can't see it doing any harm and it may well help to heal the skin. I advise my Dr Bhatti patients to apply baby oil to the scalp every morning for 6-12 months and leave it on during the day. I'm not sure whether you have been doing something similar. Just a suggestion for you to try, in my own experience I would say it definitely helped the healing process. Also if you've had a decent cut or graze lately on any part of your body, can you recall how long the skin repaired itself and blended in with your natural colour, it may be an indicator of how long you will have to wait for the redness to clear. Really sorry I can't be of more help, after reading your latest post, it looks like you have a hit a bit of a brick wall. There must be some skin product out there that will help you disguise it until your hair grows out and the redness hopefully fades. Try visiting a make-up counter, they might be able to provide a short term fix for you which will help you go about your daily duties without worrying about the red bandana. All the best Shera
  9. On Amazon UK, the first page of searches for Argan Oil shows many products all with over 4 star + reviews. Even if taking Amazon reviews with a pinch of salt, there does seem an awfully lot of people who highly recommend Argan Oil products. Regaine Minoxidil only gets 3.5 stars. I suppose there's no harm in trying it for the price it is, it may be the shampoo for you.
  10. At 12 days everything looks normal, there is no reason for you to be so alarmed, you have gone to a top proven surgeon so your result in time should reflect this. My advice to you is to stop looking at your scalp trying to pick out faults. Just stick to the care regime and get on with life as normal as possible. Don't be overly obsessive, it's a long journey to getting your hair back, if you are this picky now, then you might not make the finish line! Happy growing.
  11. Hi Julius, Here is an estimate that has been banded around this forum for some time for hair growth after transplant surgery. 3 months - 10% 4 months - 25% 5 months - 40% 6 months - 60% 7 months - 70% 8 months - 75% 9 months - 80% 10 months - 90% 11 months - 95% 12 months - 98% 18 months - 100% Furthermore, you need to take into account that we are all different and we will generally grow out at our own pace, you may be an early sprouter or a late bloomer, the most important thing is to be positive and patient, your result will come. With my own personal experience I feel that my hair continued to grow and mature even up to the 2 year mark. Therefore at only 6 months, I think you should look forward to a lot more growth.
  12. Hi Sid, It's not important to rub the grafts off, they should naturally fall off within 14 days or so. Rubbing them gently in a circular motion when they are soft during washing will just speed up the process. By now your grafts are firmly embedded in your scalp therefore rubbing or not rubbing will not affect future growth.
  13. You should be able to drive after your surgery, but personally I advise all patients to relax and do nothing the day after surgery. Worse case scenario, there are many things that can happen during your described journey, some out of your control. You will also be tired and in some discomfort which could expose you to more risks. As with most patients you would have researched, planned, saved up, taken time out for the surgery so why not just take that extra day to chill out. Why take the risk?
  14. Hi Aarvark, I would recommend around 1800-2000 grafts to fill in your temple areas and strengthen your hairline. At 31 you may well need another procedure in the distant future as your native hair continues to recede. It's good that you thinking ahead and not going gung-ho. Feel free to contact me if you wish to consider Dr Bhatti in India, I am UK based. Check out my story in my signature link below.
  15. Hi, I have PM'd you my personal details in case you would like to talk to me first and I can then also arrange for you to have a Skype conversation with Dr Bhatti.
  16. Hi Jay, It's still early days in your procedure, I wouldn't worry too much about the redness. I have seen similar in a very fair Irish patient where it took nearly 4 months to fade out. I'd probably put it down to your complexion and nothing else. As mentioned by other posters, just give it time and try not to worry too much about it.
  17. Hey Jdog, If you think most of your grafts are grown out already and you are pretty sure on which areas to address, I would say you should be good to go after 10 months.
  18. One more for your list, What happens if my final result after 12-18 months is way below mine and the clinics expectations?

  20. Hi Jim, That's a great explanation provided by Bill. In my experience, most patients will fall approximately within 10% either way of the 2.2 average hairs per graft quoted by Bill. There has been no need for my affiliated clinic to go to the lengths you describe to determine an exact average. Therefore it is probably safe to assume you will fall within this average category. Some clinics do use Apps such as the IPad App, 'Graft Calculator' to measure the total number of hairs per graft placed in different zones of the scalp during surgery and provide you with fancy charts to represent these figures post surgery. Other clinics will provide you with a more straightforward graft breakdown as described in your first post. I've not come across any machine/software that will determine the exact amount of singles, doubles, trebles etc, for the whole scalp; I suppose there's not really been a demand for such a contraption. A good doctor should be able to provide a good estimate of each patients available grafts during consultation or by viewing good quality pics. Personally, I don't think any contraption is needed here either, just the doctors knowledge and experience should suffice in order to get the accurate estimated figure needed to help devise an individual surgery plan. Also there is a difference between FUT and FUE, without going into a debate, FUE does allow the surgeon to possibly select more multi-hair grafts subject to availability.
  21. Hi Razzaq, It's common place for Dr Bhatti to do large sessions of thousands of grafts in a day, 4000 probably being the upper limit. I had 3305 grafts in a day and there are numerous patients who have had similar and there are numerous surgeons who do similar amounts. You can check out my write up in my link below, it's no lie.
  22. Yes, you are right in presuming it means hairs per graft, a single being 1 hair, a double meaning 2 and so on... Therefore the 'average number per graft' is the number of total hairs divided by the number of grafts.
  23. Hi Benny, In the case of UK patients flying to Dr Bhatti's clinic in India for their procedures, they are pretty much guaranteed that the surgery will go ahead once they reach there. During the initial consultation stage all patient medical details are disclosed and if there is a risk of the surgery not going ahead for any reason, it is determined at this stage. Details pics and in many cases one to one consultations in the UK and abroad will identify any problems such as limited scalp donor, unreal expectations or a patients current mental state that will put the procedure at risk. If it is deemed as in some cases that the patient is not a suitable candidate for hair transplant surgery then he/she is told at this stage where no costs to them are incurred. In your case, I'm sure Dr Bisangas' people would have followed a similar process so once on that plane you should fully expect your surgery to take place. I wish you all the best.
  24. Hey Trix, There's no fee associated with the involvement of any of Dr Bhatti's online reps. The price on the website is the price you pay regardless of how much assistance you need along the way. It's all part of the service.
  25. The patient above has kindly provided me with a few 15 month post op update pics to share with the community. Enjoy...
