  1. SMG rocks! I have no doubt you will be very happy with your results.
  2. Looks much better, especially the left side. In my humble opinion, I think a good trim and style by a pro stylist would help even more. The top looks a little long vs. the sides. I know it may show some thinner spots if you keeps it a little shorter, but those spots will probably keep filling in over the next few months. You can always grow it back out to this length if you don't like it shorter. Like I said, you are way ahead of where you started.
  3. Still coming along. Need some density behind the hairline, so I hope that's what months 5-6 will bring. Still pleased with progress so far. Seems better every week.
  4. What do you think, Sunny? The top picture is always the real indicator. I see some patchy areas, but do you feel it continues to progress each week?
  5. I don't see a lot of difference, but that is also not uncommon where grafts are being placed in the midst of a lot of native hairs. Did they discuss with you the possibility of transected native follicles as a result of the procedure? The upside is you have replaced or added to native follicles that were likely to be unproductive in the future, so you won't go through the hairline recession now that you have permanent grafts there. I have seen people with a NW1 or NW2 ask this question before after a HT, so I do not find it surprising that you do not see a big difference when your hair loss was minimal prior to HT.
  6. Cool video. Very thick result. I like how it also seems to show early on the process of growth is not a simple linear pattern. There seems to be some mild shedding as growth finds its foothold, but by the later months (6-9) things are solid.
  7. I had great early growth before 90 days post-op. I did not do anything to the grafts in the first 10 days other than dab them with Dr.-provided shampoo and used a cup of water to gently rinse. I did not do ANY gentle massaging while shampooing until day 10. I had almost no scabs, so I can't relate to people who say they needed to "rub" their scabs off in the shower, but I would still be inclined not to rub anything off. Let them fall off naturally with mild water pressure. They'll be gone soon enough and then the waiting begins. Good luck!
  8. Yes, a little slow. I agree it seems many FUE cases grow a little slower but that is not an indication of expected final results. I think you have good hair characteristics for a good result with some curl and wave.
  9. Good to see you still have that sense of humor, Voxman. Rest up and get better.
  10. Super. I think it looks great. All that matters is that YOU are happy with the result. I am about your age and I am in month 4. I hope to be as happy as you are about the decision. I have had an above-average first few months, so I remain upbeat about everything. There are a lot of picky people out here, and sometimes I am one of them. Truth is we balding people probably analyze hair much, much more than the general population, so it doesn't surprise me to see lots of over-analysis on the results.
  11. No, I am not new here and that is one reason I question this. Have never seen anything like it and the story is hard to believe. Can you imagine trying to sleep without creating an infection or causing a hemorrhage? This situation required hospitalization. It is impossible to believe a doc would/could send someone home with this. If he wants sympathy or advice, he needs to be totally transparent. To start, I would like to see a left side pic showing the recipient zone while I can see the wound simultaneously.
  12. I suppose I could wrap my mind around this if another active HT doc who does a lot of FUT could chime in as to whether it is plausible or not. It has it's own thread, so I won't hijack this one any further.
  13. It is TOTALLY appropriate as long as he withholds the Dr.'s name. I specified other appropriate reasons as well. I appreciate both techniques and have said so many times on this forum.
  14. Also, if this is a pic from his home, where are the grafts in the recipient zone? With 5000 grafts, I expect to see something in the crown and I expect the top to be shaved (though I know not all docs do it, probably 80-90% do).
  15. Photo doesn't look 'real' to me...I mean, the photo may be real, but it was probably taken in the Dr. office right after the strip was removed. I could never believe someone is sent home this way with such little consultation or care as the OP describes. Looks like an FUT hater to me posting a scare pic...especially since he will not name the doc. I'll only believe it if I see and hear a lot more about this one...
  16. It is hard to believe this is a real post-op pic. Could it be this guy is not naming his doc because this is not real? An FUT-hater possibly? Looks like a setup to me.
  17. The physician has no obligation to respond on this forum, but if he wants any hope of salvaging his reputation once his name is released, it would be wise for him to prepare a professional response to this case. This is not a marketing network for doctors. This is a forum "Created by and for Patients". To me, that means doctors are second to patients on this forum.
  18. Looks good, Squatch! About where I was at 3 months. The waiting stinks.
  19. Why would a doc do a combination FUT/FUE for 1500 grafts? Also looks like your native hair had extensive shock loss and never returned? This is distressing to see, so I can only imagine what you are going through.
  20. Well, I'm very pleased with the midscalp and going back to the crown. I am not sure if that is largely due to meds or HT; I am betting it is combination of both. The hairline is continuing to fill out and get lower. I look forward to more density up there in coming weeks. It's quite something that the hairline area growth started from the center and has then been working it's way lower - this pattern has made the growth stage much less noticeable. I basically had no hairline in my before pic and you can now see I have a good deal of growth at the hairline and frontal at week 15. If this pace continues, I expect I will not only have the hairline I desired but also the density across the whole recipient area by week 26. Yes, I know, things can stall and it may take longer, but I have a lot of optimism at the moment, This has been a fun journey so far, and I am pleased with where I stand at 15 weeks.
  21. New pics at 15 weeks post-op. Also posted a pre-op for comparison.
  22. Seeing good growth up to week 15. The weeks 8-15 have seen a lot of new growth for this early in the process, so it excites me for what could happen in weeks 15-26 (which are typically the primary growing weeks)!! I maintain my regiment of Rogaine, 1.25 mg of Propecia daily (sides not very noticeable), biotin, zinc, and multi-vitamin daily. The scar is looking so much better over the last 4 weeks as well. I think it will be very hard to find, even sifting through the hair, in about 2-3 months. I never plan to wear my hair really short, so this works for me. I can actually run my hand through my hair now from hairline to crown and actually feel something...almost 10 years since I could do that! The hair seems to be growing in a natural pattern for a left side part and the crown swirl goes that way as well, so I am combing it each day with the idea that I will style it that way once it all grows to length. I really don't know if combing it now that way will help "train" it for the future as the hairs get longer, but I figure it cannot hurt. It's just fun to see some changes as the weeks go by and be able to play with it. I have had zero funny looks or comments from people since I started this process. I have not even so much as caught anyone I know looking up there. In reality, I think most people do not look much at a peron's hair (people look in each other's eyes - it actually takes special effort to look at the hair) - only we balding people focus on it at a higher level. I wanted my change to be subtle, but I know family members I have not seen in a while will notice something when I see them in a few months. But that's OK, I am pretty sure they will be pleased with a younger/fresher look, as I had been looking older than my age for many years. I am prepared to discuss it if it comes up...but in a year's time no one will remember the old look and the only see the new look.
