  1. I've been wearing a number of years and even in the last few years things have moved on a lot. Bases are softer and knots more invisible than when I started. There are a few online places you can use, one of which I have been with for a while. If you can cut in locally and maintain at home then the options are many. Let me know if you need a suggestion. I know a member on a different forum buying overseas (instead of his native India) due to lower costs. I was surprised. Is this still the case?
  2. They can be made any size and shape but the bigger the better the adhesion I expect. Gravity may not help with the back and side, but yes you can get this.
  3. Well done on taking the leap,. Good luck with it all
  4. I normally order two systems at a time with one as an emergency piece. prep, attachment and cut is ?65-70 and then I go to local barber for blend at a fiver a pop
  5. I cant gumble. My supplier puts me in touch with their preferred stylist.
  6. Honestly, you soon forget about it. Its not hotter or more itchy. I DIY and change every 18-20 days so it all stays relatively clean and fuss free. I get the cut in via a salon through my supplier and every so often just a local barber to keep the blend
  7. Price and quality dont always follow. I have seen pieces costing over ?1500 and they are little better and probably worse than the ones I have purchase at ?250. Its all about how interested the supplier is in delivering a good product and the research you put in. I wont name the expensive supplier but with their celebrity endorsements thats why they charge so much. Equally, there is no one supplier the best at everything - but taken as a whole Im happy with my current supplier. uk hair systems - I have been with them for a few pieces and happy to stick with them as they give me the all round package I want. Top Quality & Affordable Hair Systems, Hairpieces, Toupees, Wigs, Hair Replacement Systems - Shipping UK and Worldwide. mh2go and London hair clinic pretty much one and the same. Total cover plus is the lazy solution, but pricey and their pieces are nothing special.
  8. I started wearing about 5 years ago and I have no regret, although in the early days it was very much a steep learning curve without forums and youtube videos like today. Hairpieces can work and equally they can look bad if you dont have the right team around you and attitude. From memory London Hair Clinic provide different hair solutions - one being hair pieces. I got one from them early on. Throughout they were very rushed. The stylist cutting botched my cut in. I then spent the next 3 weeks trying to get them to put it right and they never did. I undertstand the guy who was running LHC's pieces is the man behind menshairpieces. Hendon Hair is ok but their systems are expensive. I have been using UK Hair Systems for 3.5 years.
  9. DIY would ultimately give better results than relying on clown clinics
  10. If you find find someone locally to cut it in then no reason why you cant buy online (provided they accept payment from and ship to your country). Do US companies do that otherwise North West is popular. I have used http://www.ukhairsystems.com for the last few years even when I have been in the middle east for work I have sent you a private message.
  11. I think clip on certainly have those risks. Tape and glue much less so. I get by on 4 quid a month worth of products a year.
  12. I agree buddy. Explore everything that makes you happy and hopefully you will find the best for you. I use the tape and only have "bleeding" issues if I have it on for more than 3-weeks. I tried liquid glue twice and both times I didnt like it.
  13. Ok you got me!! It wasnt once, its been many occasions. In fact, I regularly go 5 times a week for 1.5 hour run/cycle without any problems AND I dont have to reattach the glue after it. I notice no difference now and the times I wasnt active at the gym. I get a 3 week hold even if I do 15 gym trips. Whether you buy it or not isnt important to me as I have no interest in those that want to where or not. Just passing on my experience, which I hope will help someone realise there are no ghosts (gremlins) in the machine when it comes to carrying on a normal (even more active) life than when you (general you) hide under caps fearful of society
  14. 50000-60000 over 14 years seems excessive - did you use a salon? I DIY for 300 a year
  15. For custom it normally takes 6 to 8 weeks. If you order from USA you will need to add extra postage time on too. I have been using these guys for a few years now Top Quality & Affordable Hair Systems, Hairpieces, Toupees, Wigs, Hair Replacement Systems - Shipping UK and Worldwide.
  16. apart from looking naff, clip ons will damage your native hair. A custom made piece attached by tape or glue will be the most natural result.
  17. Yes you can shower with the unit on. You could go for a looser attachment on the back and sides and apply oil. Usually the front of the unit is the one area that must be secure. You will probably need weekly reattachments as oil and glue are not best friends.
  18. You have taken the hardest step and it sounds like its working for you. Well done!! Now it should just get better and better. I do recomend if you commit to wearing to get a spare piece and also think about skin even if its front skin and lace behind. Almost invisible!
  19. email me - terimon at hotmail dot co dot uk
  20. 1. change his wife 2. get a shave 3. dye his sides sorted
  21. Most of us are wearers and you have presented yourself as wearing. We are first off "bias" as we know its a piece and then we will scrutinise. I think its a very good result first off. 99/100 non wearers will pass and never suspect.
