  1. depends on how confident you are, but long term DIY is the only viable solution unless you happy to spend x4 you can go to a regular barber or stylist, but I go to a specialist (works with both regular hair and systems)
  2. I pay between ?220 and ?250 per system depending on what I fancy. Then get a London stylist to cut in for ?60. I find then I get 12-months wear so that suits my budget. I DIY at home so no extra and less hassle.
  3. Depends on the final style you want. Personally, my hair is 3-4cm when I go for my cut in and I usually have that shortened by the stylish so its blended in. You might get away with 1-2cm Is the maintenance every 4 to 5 weeks extra?
  4. After researching, you need to make the decision of a hair clinic or DIY. A hair clinic will be a longer term commitment and at least x4 more expensive than DIY. They do everything which some like, but that takes much of the control and education out of your grasp. You will pay ?450 to ?2k per system and cut in DIY can be tricky to start, although most DIY places can recommend a salon to help with the cut in. There are plenty of vids to help with DIY now unlike when I started years ago. You will pay between ?220 and ?350 per unit and cut in There is no quality difference between them as they all come from the far east. Systems do work - or have for me, but not for everyone. If you take the time to research and be patient it will work.
  5. I have been wearing seven years and I think that says it all. While its never going to be a substitute to a full head of hair it is the next best thing in my view. I reattachment as part of my routine and it takes 20-30 mins every 3-weeks. I have been on holiday with it many times and no problems.
  6. Definitely! I have been wearing 7 years now and my biggest regret is not knowing about them sooner. My life has vastly improved. It does take work and you need to keep at it to get the right final system, but it will knock years off you as its done for me. I buy online and DIY, which isnt as hard as it sounds. All in I spend ?400 a year.
  7. I started to DIY after one salon visit. Its not that hard and plenty to gain from it. Why not try a salon further afield and then stay local after.
  8. OP should go light or extra light so of course it wont last as long at my light medium. However, I can still get 12-months, but since I moved my job I change every 6-months - not because of system degrade but because I like the cut in
  9. I get up to 12-months from my lace piece. depends on the quality and your care
  10. A system would be a good step to try at your stage
  11. there are good and bad posts about nearly all hair system companies. Ive never been a customer of Advanced Hair and I never will but only because they charge so much for the same products I can get for a sixth of the price without any loss of quality and possible superior quality from some of your systems I have seem when meeting people.
  12. Full caps can be secured via tightness or a tie. Others could be clipped on - pros and cons There are a few natural glue recipes floating around too.
  13. I definitely recommend http://www.ukhairsystems.com Been with them a few years now. They are chiefly online, but work with a salon to do templates and cut ins.
  14. There are a few options, but do you need a salon or have an old piece / template or can do your own measurements? The price difference is huge
  15. please use paragraphs to help us help you. Sorry to read this. I have heard of two first hand bad experiences with LHC when contacted on forums- the first was someone who had a rushed and botched cut in and was basically told to get lost. The other was bad service after complaining about colour of a piece. The arrogant approach is typical of a few of these clinics. I cant post more due to legal matters.
  16. never used them. my supplier arranges someone for me in London
  17. I have tried a few different suppliers including LHC (and my experience was poor too). I now use an offline service in London and I pay ?250-300. Just send in a template or old system and a hair sample and they usually call or email and discuss options. Been with them a few years now. http://www.ukhairsystems.com
  18. hi there, only 25 or 30 tips some depending on your system and usage or functions like washing and general care. Some I have learned myself but most I have been told by my supplier and other users. Things like wide tooth comb, regular oiling with a good product, not over washing, no heated tongs or drying, knot sealing, UV blockers, a spare system are some basics.
  19. Will Trendco cut it? They have a salon on the south coast I think. Its quite a specialist field. Maybe a ladies salon in brighton will help as they will have more experience dealing with non natural hair and extensions

It is on the thin side, but it could just be natural. You hair looks shorter in the later photos. Wait and see over the next year or two. At moment, I wouldnt be overly worried. It could be known as a cowlick
  21. When I worked in Dubai for an extended period I got ukhair systems to ship to me. Hollywood lace - had colour problems and shipping delays on last two pieces from them.
  22. It was early 2015 but stuck in my mind as I was surprised. I've used http://www.ukhairsystems.com for my last few systems. Previously Hollywood Lace. I have heard decent things about Farrell apart from the cost which is several thousand dollars.
  23. Sometimes they can attach without shaving the area right down so a 1 - 3 grade. Also I think there are clip on systems, which although not 100% perfect mean you dont have to immediate shave. Maybe someone else knows more about them. I would assume you would need longer hair for the clip on and besides longer hair will help the cut in.
