  1. Perhaps I was rash in removing the topic. Civil discourse is important. Maintaining a good environment is vital. I don’t want to go into the Reddit realm, which is popular, but terrible. Full of shills, where people make accusations and don’t have to substantiate anything they say under the guise of anonymity. I’m not perfect, I do take criticisms in a positive way, so long as there’s a way to improve myself, and the community. I’m open to finding a happy medium, where no one’s upset or feeling attacked.
  2. From what I gather they have badmouthed good surgeons, and even their own doctors. This forum has been badmouthed ad nauseam. I’m sure I’ve been run through the chipper myself. Rather than obsess on doom and gloom. I prefer to have this community educate first and foremost, then help those motivated to get surgery find the right surgeon for them. When done right, a hair transplant is life-changing.
  3. @MachoVato You’ve got an amazing head of hair. Very happy to see you so engaged in our community. Though, some may accuse me of biases. I must say Dr. Bisanga is one of the best in the world. When you look at his body of work, it’s undeniable.
  4. The perception is it’s not working, but it’s definitely working. The thing with minoxidil is it doesn’t regrow hair in most cases. But it will retain hair for a long time, especially when combined with finasteride.
  5. Guys, If you want to discuss oral minoxidil, create a separate thread. This thread is about @captaincalico and his incredible results and journey.
  6. This is fear mongering, the same thing that same YouTuber proclaims is done with finasteride.
  7. I think the change looks really good, kinky hairs usually subside around 18 months.
  8. Dear Community, I have noticed that there have been threads come up where it will be _surgeon vs. _surgeon. In the beginning, helpful advice is offered on how to make a choice. But then, posters begin to take pictures from various threads, and start comparing results, that's when feelings can get hurt. Now, while not tagging someone is better than tagging them. Everything you post publicly is seen by the PUBLIC. It's a delicate balance of creating an environment where people feel encouraged to share their results, good or bad, and creating an environment where people discuss results freely. I know that if you ask any world class surgeon about another world class surgeon, they will not hesitate to tell you to choose the other doctor if that's who you feel comfortable with. This back and forth dissecting of a surgeons reviews is unnecessary. Remember guys private messages exist for a reason. You can get feedback from past patients which is invaluable, and worth much more than an anonymous person on a message board.
  9. If you are serious about spending thousands and thousands of dollars. A plane ticket and accommodation is a small price in the end. Some surgeons give travel discounts too, be sure to ask them about any travel rebates.
  10. I would be shocked if it was your transplanted hair that thinned out. Can you share some before and after pictures?
  11. I’m positive it’s from stopping minoxidil. No guarantee it will grow the hair back. Catch up hair loss is a real thing.
  12. It’s a matter of choice, I alternate between using concealer and wearing hats.
  13. What you’re describing is the demarcation line. There’s not much you can do besides grow it out or get smp.
  14. If I were to take finasteride, it would be M,W,F this formula is powerful, the reason the concentration is high is because it’s more like a patch than a topical. You have to have high concentration for it to work.
  15. Have you tried doing a Monday, Wednesday, Friday split?
  16. Never let location dictate your choice. I suggest visiting at least once in person before agreeing to surgery.
  17. Is this the HT of the year? Special thanks to @captaincalico for letting me share his results.
  18. To be honest, it’s probably best to shave, it will be a difficult journey ahead for surgery. It will require multiple procedures time and money. It will never be perfect and you will always have a semi-balding appearance. Is this something you really want? That’s what you have to ask yourself.
