  1. This is great I dont know of many Hair Transplant surgeons in the world that too as reputed as Dr.Rahal, who are doing this, But Dr Rahal's website says any Hair Graft not growing on their treated patient they will offer a free replacement of Hair graft there. isn't that a great gesture. I wish only if all the doctors around the worlds started doing it considering, it is such an expensive procedure !!

  2. Guys this Person now has the Final results so the results speak for themselves. But frankly speaking looking at the Pic Day 1 immediately after his HT, does it not look like a neatly done Hairline. I mean it looks perfectly done hairline as far the Micro Irregularity and the Zig-Zag approach the Textbook of Hair Transplant talks about in achieving a Natural Hairline. This is a classic example of a neatly done Job. Dont you guys think this should be kept as a example in front of whoever is going for a HT, This approach will give a natural result like in this case.

  3. yep its apart of the post op care advised by Dr Bhatti, i really dont recommend using it. i may need to go back and have a some replacement hairs implanted, we'll see as it might come good over the next few months only time will tell. i'll post soon so you can see and judge for yourself, other than that, all is going really really really well, my crown is filling in a bit, already the "Church of England MONK/brother bald patch" is going and my front hairline is in a nice place, I feel i look 10 years younger.

Ok Now this is the second confirmation that we have here where someone is saying that the use of J&J Hair Oil that was advised as a Post-Operative care after the HT this is infact taking off the grafts. Seriously scary thing ! You dont wanna do anyting after you have gone thorugh all this efforts and your all valuable money to let this happen ! As you guys are pointing out to skip it, I wonder if it will have negative impact on the growth of the Hair Grafts ? Can anyone confirm on this ?

@Sethticles Mate I have some questions for you, I will PM you about it. I hope you dont mind having a look at it and getting back to me :)

  4. I found out the hard way, J&J hair tonic dislodge quite a few folicles so i stopped using it, and waiting an extra 3 weeks before using it again, and even now i hardly use it. I did Dr Bhatti's post care program with the utmost care, i just wish I had never used the hair tonic, I am afraid I have lost quite a bit of the right front hair line due to the hair tonic. I am at 4 months and you can see the difference clearly. I remember writing in my blog about the J&J tonic and my suspicions then, 4 months later its looking like I was correct. What happened was the oil made the hairs stick to my fingers, even gently dabbing the transplanted area you could see the hairs lifting out of place and onto my finger, I quickly stopped, a few days later I did it again, and the same thing happened so I stopped. my suggestion is to just wait a month or more before using it.

This hair tonic that you were using was it part of the post operative care that Dr.Bhatti advised you or you started using it on your own ?

  5. I was going thorugh Dr.Alvi Armani's website and he claims that he can cover upto 100-120 grafts Per-Sq.Cm that is some outrageous claim. is it even possible ? 100-120 Grafts per sq.cm ?? Are you kidding me ?? That is unheard of, out of the world ? is it even possible ? When Most of the reputed Doctors in the HT Field talk about a max of 55-65 Hair Grafts Per Sq.Cm, Dr.Armani says 100-120 !! Sounds unbelievable to me. Let me know what you guys think ? I think it is a little too exaggerated infact a lot exaggerated !!

  6. hello

i am new to this, but can anyone help me in finding the right and best HT doctor/ clinic in UAE?

everytime i check some doctor, i read about bad reviews. Nu Hart, Alvi Armani.

need your help guys. i am all set for the HT and i want this to work, but also, i want to make sure that i do not throw my money down the drain and later get no results.

    thank you

Indian Media was going Ga-Ga about this Dr.Sajjad Khan in Dubai who has apparently reported to have worked on one of the very leading superstar from the Indian Hindi Film Industry !!

  7. Augustya , see your negative input wasn't required....at all.

You did not want to agree, to what I was saying but incidentally even others have chimed in and agreed to what I was saying including Reid himself. I hope you have even gone through "senthicles" comments...You are new here, we have read Reid's feedback long time back and know he is very pretty happy about his HT so I was telling you what he had already expressed here. And by the way now even you agree that his hair looks top, so what was all the fuss that you were making about ??

  8. Hi Augustya,

Since I had a huge area to be filled (with 3.5k grafts), Doc recommended the hairline as in the picture....

I had asked for good density wherever planted ....

Also, he suggested I am only 27 and at an age of 35-40, more grafts could create a dis-balance behind .....

But overall seeing the quality of grafts and if the result of session-1 is good he can do 2000 more to advance the hairline.

    - Rajiv

Yes, looks like you guys have done a good Job in achieving the density that you talk about in the crown. So you are saying, Dr.Bhatti was ready to advance your hairline lower, on your insistence he did not do it ?

  9. Hi Everyone ....

Very recently (5th Nov '13) I got FUE (HT) done by Dr. Bhatti (in Chandigarh _ India).

I had got his reference from this forum and am now back to showcase the progress and to get the feedback on same.

    Have uploaded 2 pics ....

1 before the procedure and 1 after ....

Al the hair were taken from scalp ....

    Total grafts planted- 3720

    Singles- 840, Doubles- 1560 and Triples- 1320

Overall quite satisfied the way procedure was taken care of ....

    Awaiting results

    ~ Cheers

I see you have got only your crown filled up and restored your hairline however I don't see you have built a more prominent or lowered hairline ? Any reason for that ? Did Dr.Bhatti refuse you to have your hairline lowered of some thing ?

  10. Introduction

I’m European, Caucasian, 28 years old. I started to lose my hair at the age of 20, and it truly became visible at around 24. All men in my family are very bald, and I’m probably genetically geared towards a Norwood 6 or 7. My hair loss is particularly evident in the front, but also present on the crown. I’ve been on Finasteride for over two years now, and that somewhat stopped the loss. I added Rogaine recently, which seems to be giving me an additional edge.

In January 2013, I decided to undergo a hair transplant, and started to document myself. I spent maybe about 100 hours reading blogs as well as scientific articles online, until I had all the information I needed to make an educated decision. I decided to go for it because: i) cosmetic surgery seems to me most useful at a young age, when one is at his maximum effort both professionally and sentimentally, and ii) the sooner I get my hair transplant, the longer I will enjoy its benefits, thereby getting better value for my money. Being a very resolute person, once I decided, I just did it without any hesitation.

    The Choice of the Surgeon

I considered all of the surgeons in the list published on this site. I focused on San Francisco and surroundings, as I was in this city at the time, but didn’t neglect other respected physicians around the globe. I also focused on surgeons with a proven record in FUE, as I didn’t want to have the conspicuous scar that derives from the strip method.

I ended up choosing Doctor John Diep. The reasons for my decision where: i) he seemed to have more experience in FUE than most other surgeons on the list, ii) considering his pedigree, he offered me a very competitive price.

It’s been almost five months since the operation, and I’m very satisfied with Doctor Diep’s work. I would strongly recommend him to anybody looking to undergo FUE. I will proceed with giving more details and narrating my experience in its various steps.

    The Procedure

I had two consultations with Doctor Diep, one in person and one via video call. He was clear in answering all my questions, and I felt his answers were overall honest and to the point, despite his obviously being in sales mode. I suggest documenting oneself very well before meeting any physician. This will help one to ask the right questions and immediately spot any shrewd sales talk.

We agreed on rebuilding my hairline and filling a bit of the crown. I’d be undergoing FUE for about 2,300 grafts. Most of them would go to the front.

I came in 3 weeks later, early in the morning, got sedated, and the surgery started. Doctor Diep did all of the numbing, the extraction work, and also the incisions to indicate where the grafts would have to be transplanted. About 3 or 4 nurses did the rest, mostly cleaning up the grafts, medicating me, and then implanting the clean grafts in the incisions. The staff was polite, friendly, and caring. The operation lasted for about 6-8 hours with no complications. I felt moderate pain at times, but, upon my signal, Doctor Diep was always prompt in sedating the painful areas again.

I came in at 6:30 AM and left in the late afternoon, at about 17:00. I actually found it a fascinating and educative experience, not particularly painful or taxing. I do see how some people may suffer the sheer length of it. Very sensitive individuals may also lament the pain, but in my case I wasn’t bothered in the least. Overall, I felt Doctor Diep and his staff did an excellent job, both taking care of me as an individual and from the technical/medical standpoint.

    The Post-Op

The hardest part was going through the following week or so. I had significant swelling and some itching. I slept on a chair for 4-5 nights to minimize the blood pressure in the scalp, and took steroids to help reduce the swelling. I couldn’t wash my hair properly and had to bathe my head with special care. Anyway, Doctor Diep gave me clear instructions and I followed them to the letter.

After a couple of weeks I could shower properly and gently wash away the scabs. I started to lose most of the transplanted hair at that point. After a month I had no residual evidence of the operation in the transplanted areas. However, it still showed pretty clearly that something had been done to my donor areas. They were a bit red and the hair less dense. I also experienced hypersensitivity in certain parts of my donor area.

Things improved quickly over the following month, and I’d say that, after about 2-3 months, all hypersensitivity had subsided, the redness in the donor area had almost completely gone, and most of the transplanted hair had regrown. From that point onwards it has been a continuous improvement.

    The Results

I don’t know what the very final result will be yet (the transplanted hair takes up to 1 year to grow to its fullest), however, already after 5 months, I am very satisfied. My hairline has gone back to what it used to be. My front has decent density (considered that I was almost completely bald in this area), to the point that in dim light my hair looks very dense. Under strong light one can see a certain thinning, but nothing that would make me feel uncomfortable or insecure. The crown hasn’t improved much from what it used to be. Doctor Diep could only transplant 300 grafts in this area, and that’s not enough to make a very significant difference. Note that we had agreed to down prioritize the crown in favor of the front, so I expected this, and am totally cool with it.

I feel a lot more confident today, I do all my sports, live an active and happy life and don’t pay any special attention to my hair, besides avoiding intense sunlight for prolonged periods (this is an important measure to follow for at least half a year after the operation). I go to my hairdresser, let people stroke my head, and feel I am more successful with women than I used to be (it may have something to do with a boost of confidence I got from looking at myself in the mirror and seeing a more attractive guy).

I want to conclude repeating myself: Doctor Diep did a wonderful job, and I now would have no hesitation going back to him, should I feel like undergoing an additional procedure. Do take him in serious consideration, especially if you wish to do FUE rather than the strip method.

That is some serious dense packing in the front, do you have any information how much hair grafts did the Dr use per sq.cm in the front ?

  11.

FYI....Reid was presented by Dr. Bhatti in the 2013 ISHRS conference in San Francisco for "live patient viewing" and hence scores of HT Surgeons from all over the world had a chance to analyze his HT results.

    Thank you,

    California

Oh this is interesting piece of information, very good, so how did Reid score when his Hair Transplant work was show cased to all the doctors from the world, what was the feedback from the other doctors present there ? Can you share it here...

  12. Hi Augaystyua , thanks for the attack. I've attached 2 pictures , both with cirlces highlighting my query to Reid. You can see the contrast in thickness of temple points to native. A minor difference but not something I have noticed on other temple point post op patients.

Re the cows lick, see attached pic , with your glasses on. To me it looks like it is standing up and my question to Reid is did it mature enough to sit flat or does he always need hair product to hold it down. I am in a similar situation and would expect mine to sit flat in time. He is post 18 months but still has this effect. Is this down to poor graft placement. Yes I have seen all his pics, post op, pre op, opshop etc. So go and review the pics and tell me if my questions, observations are ridiculous again. You started the thread qith questions on Dr Bhatti's hairlines , yet call others ridiculous for raising similar concerns. Have some manners.

Reid sorry for the interruption by Augaysta would appreciate your feedback

    Cheers

    Bon

Again this is Hilarious, even without you attaching the pictures with the markings, I very well got the point that you were making lol ! anyways...what will Reid say in this, when he himself has posted in his earlier post when he uploaded this pics that he is preety happy with it, you are trying to tell him, asking him to go looking for faults when there is none. Yes, I started this thread with the objective of people putting up their comments here. But trying to do a nit picking, find a fault when there is none is something futile... Maybe Reid again can say something here...Looks ok to me...If in life we have to go looking for fault or desperately try and find faults with something, one can always find that. Point is how much can you be content with.

  13. Hi Reid , Can you assist , I notice in your hairline that you have a "calves lick" effect Is this because of misplacement of the grafts that they point up and will it ever settle down flat.

Your temple points have thicker hairs too, I understand you had an op over 18 months ago but the "calves lick" and thick temple points (you can see the difference between native hair behind it plus the brushed forward look to disguise a very sharp temple corner (your previous pics post op show as very acute angle).

In hindsight is there anything you would have asked Dr Bhatti to do differently , for example use nape hair . Can you wear your hair flat down without using a product or is it standing up and wire like, fuzzy still.

I've just joined the Forum to share my story and will update with pics shortly when I hit the 8 month mark.

    Cheers

    Bon

This is Ridiculuous !! One gets in to a HT to get a hairline built and rebuild the temple points, and when he does, he gets criticised that oh well, why are your temple points looking so prominent. Doesn't make any sense to what you are saying or suggesting mate. Firstly HTindia's current hairline after his HT looks preety good (Have you even seen his pre HT pics or did you just see his post HT Pics) except for the fact it is placed high in my opinion it could have been a tad lower. Coming to the temple points, well, I in real life see so many people who have a Very prominent, thick temple points so do you mean to say all of that is very unnatural...absolutely not...I think HTindia's hairline looks very natural (I looked and kept looking till my eyes had a fatigue to find out what the heck about the cowlick thing that you are talking about and I could not notice it) HTindia's hairline definitely looks very good and natural and far from having thick temple points and cowlick in the hairline...sounds absolutely unconvincing...
