  1. I am sorry if this question has been asked before cant seem to find when I searched for it. My question is.

    1. I am a stomach sleeper, I just had my Transplant 5 days back, when can I start sleeping on my stomach again without fearing that I might damage my grafts while keeping my head on the pillow or brushing my grafts to the pillow.

    2. When can I start having a full fledged normal shower (without any fear that oh my god what if this happens or that happens or what if I dislodge any hair grafts, already fed up of this paranoia) and when can I start shampooing my head normally, like I used to do it before I went for the transplant. My scalp has become all greasy !! Very badly need a good shower !! :(

  2. Well, 14 days have passed since the procedure. The daily routine of washing with mineral water, dabbing shampoo with gauze, applying shaving cream, rinsing with mineral water and applying aloe oil was getting tiring. I'm finally able to shower with baby shampoo per post-op instructions.

The crust has started to fall off along with minor shedding off the transplanted hairs. Still a lot of crust that needs to come off. Great thing is I went back to work 9 days post-op and no one has been able to tell that I had any work done. My hair was long enough to where I could trim it with scissors to cover the grafts.

My main concern prior to the transplant was infection and scarring (I have a history of keloid scars on my body). I can say I'm in the clear on the infection front and so far so good on the scar front. Can't wait for the crust and hairs to shed so I can see how the skin looks underneath.

On the scar Front, How did you check. Made sure that you are not scarring ? Just asking...

  3. You asked for opinion I gave you mine.. Why are you being so hostile? Hair grafts do not shed in 48 hours. The only explanation why a two hair graft without blood would fall out after 2 days in my opinion its wasn't lodged in the first place. That is my opinion whether you like it or not.

No...no I am not being hostile, it is just that it, has come as a shock to me !! Hair was not planted properly in the first place is the last thing I would have imagined...

  4. Thats correct what people are saying if a grafts falls out with blood that is partly correct if the grafts is correctly placed in the first place. In the first few days if a graft falls out chances are its because for some reason it had not attached or healed properly to the incision in the first place. That is why the first few days are very important to be careful.

I wouldn't worry if its only 1 graft but I am quite sure that is not natural for the grafts to pop out in the first few day.

Ok so there is a new dimension getting to this now, so you are saying this Hair Graft was not placed correctly in the first place, so but how come it hung on to my scalp for 3 days before it came out today !

  5. Really not sure, could be all right as Cueball35 mentioned.

I would like to tweak my temporal points a bit (the docs always say I don't need it) but that is one thing that has always worried me, wearing a hat or sleeping in the first days and losing grafts.

Have you already returned home, or can you get to the clinic for some help?

See what they have to say.

Exactly I am now scared to death to wear this FxxxxN cap which is proving the biggest villain in my life !! So if everything is ok what is this FU with a dried bulb looks burnt coppery colour with 2 Hair Grafts it is for sure not bleeding from anywhere !!

I have returned back Home !

  6. They do say if no blood then don't worry. How did you lose it?

Also is it in the very front hairline?

If not even if you did lose it it will not have significant cosmetic effect.

It is I guess from the temporal point area, but I clearly see the bulb it is a FU with a set of 2 hair grafts!! So this is permanently gone right !! But my counter argument to it is why did it not bleed then ? Or does it not have to bleed always !! I was wearing the cap provided by the clinic and it just got stuck to it :-((

  7. I am 2 days post my HT, today is the third day, I had a follicle unit which came out with the bulb it was a set of 2 hair graft, it did not bleed there, have I lost that FU forever. Shouldn't it have bled in the first 2 days or it is not always the case that it should bleed. So am I at loss with one follicular unit ?? People who already have an experience please comment already Freaking out !!

  8. Hey guys, made it back to California and closing in on 6 days post op. No discomfort in the planted area but still a little tightness and some discomfort in the donor area. I've been sticking to the post-op regimen provided by Dr. Bhatti but it was hard to follow while travelling, so no shampooing or washing for a 30 hour stretch. I have ditched the darling buds cap for my own A's cap.

It has been hard to sleep comfortably because I'm a stomach/side sleeper and this position rubs the planted area on the pillow. So I've found that rolling up a beach towel and putting it under my jaw and cheek area allows me to float the planted area while still getting into my comfortable sleeping positions.

    Hairline:

I asked Dr. Bhatti how he designs his hairlines. His answer, "Divide the face into one thirds and make them equal. Round faces have a flatter hairline, long skinny faces have a sharper receding hairline". I expressed my desire to have a rounded (convex) hairline with zigzag pattern instead of concave hairline with no zigzag. The initial hairline he drew looked horrible. I thought "why am I doing this if in the end I still have a crappy hairline and have the look of a receding hairline. After some negotiation we were both satisfied with the hairline.

    Cost:

I went for the $1.40 per graft package. He uses a brand new punch machine in this package and this appealed to me because my biggest concern was/is infection. There is also a 12.58% tax if you choose not to pay in cash. Also add a 2% fee if you choose to pay with a credit card. The day of my procedure the credit card machine was not working (even though I was led to believe it was my credit card that was not working) and I had to end up wiring funds via an online transfer which added another $70 in bank fees. Typically, Dr. Bhatti does not accept wire transfers as payment for the procedure. Check his website for more information.

    The Good:

    -Fast

    -Efficient

    -Cheap

-Quality of work and post-op instructions were very good.

-Dr. Bhatti knew of all the FUE surgeons that I had consulted and knew about their techniques. He also travels to HT conferences often and is familiar with the newest advances in the field.

    The Bad:

-The clinic is very busy. Dr. Bhatti does 2 HT a day along with a number of in-clinic and internet consultations in a day, 7 DAYS A WEEK! He pretty much goes from 7 am to 7 pm. At times I felt like things were rushed, especially when I first met him to go over the hair line.

-Technicians receive all their training in the clinic, they did not go to college or take any courses for this.

-Sterile technique needs to improve for the technicians. There was a lot of technician traffic in and out of the OR. They frequently dropped hands below waist line with gloves on.

-Dr. Bhatti's English is very good. It was difficult at times to understand the technicians English but they had no problems with repeating themselves.

Coming on to your question of Hairline Design and Dr.Bhatti's philosophy on it that Long Faces look good with a Sharp, Peak like design while round faces look good with rounded hairline design. You haven't put your entire face picture so it is kinda hard to guess, your face structure but looks like you have a semi round, oval kind of face structure so in your case did he in the first attempt suggest you a round hairline design shouldn't have been much of struggle for you because you anyways have a oval kind of shape face, so what was the worry when you say you had to negotiate with Him on the hairline design part ?

  9. I do not wan't to name him until I am sure that it is not normal or there is really something wrong.

Try consulting and showing your case to another reputed doctor in the city you live. In your case, it is difficult to say anything without personal inspection of your transplanted area. And that too only a Doctor with heaps of experience can take a call on what went wrong, or is there anything to worry about.

  10. what norwood scale are you and how good is you donor area?

these will help us guide you for the best result, then talk to your surgeon and make it known what you most desire and keen about "a straight hair line," he'll then juggle the overall best solution with your ultimate goal, this is always a worry and we all go through it, so don't stress too much. take care mate seth

Norwood Scale 2A, Pretty Good Donor Area but Super Fine, silky, straight hair, Lots of 1's and 2's and 3's in the donor area.

  11. hiv doesn't show up sometimes for years. It depend how much person is resistant to hiv virus.

Most doctors do elisa or dot testthose are just instant way of letting you know u r not infected its not guarantee you don't have hiv.

Any blood bag for transfusion read carefully it says if person is under window period their is no guarantee.

Window period spans from sometime months o more then 6 years and some cases more then that.its my opinion on hiv and blood test.

    stop spammmmminnnngggggg !!!!!!!

  12. That is the most weirdest statements that I have ever come across, If that was the case Half of the Men on this Planet would be Bald almost 95% lol ! There is so scientific evidence to prove this so there is no reason for you to believe it. Infact I have read otherwise. Sex is a immune booster in lot ways. People deprived of having sex in their life are prone to Kindey Disease, Bladder Issues more then People who have a active, healhty sex life and of course it is scientically proven, people active with sex life tend to live longer then who do not ! But it definitely has no connection with Hairloss.

  13. I think you can achieve the look on the left (grown out hair) with a variety of hairlines. The guy on the left looks to have a very solid hairline, but it is styled in such a way so that if he had a little temple recession/thinning you couldn't really tell. His right temple is covered by most the hair being combed that direction (there's a big shadow there anyways) and if you look closely the hair near his left temple is actually strategically leaning out infront of the temple. Whether this was done to conceal some mild temple recession or just coincidentally I don't know. The guy on the right looks to have no temple recession and so I imagine could pull off the same look pretty easily.

Neither picture has a widows peak, but if that's what you fancy I don't see why it wouldn't jive.

Either way, you don't necessarily need a super aggressive straight hairline to pull off the hair on the left. Some minor temple recession (mature hairline) can still work.

As fueonly pointed out you'll need to be aggressive with the density so make sure your surgeon is capable of accomplishing that and you have the available grafts to afford it. If your hair loss is aggressive or you're young, I would be very careful about going for an aggressive straight hairline. A lot can change in 5-10 years.

Yep I kinda agree, The end result hairstyle can be achieved with either of the hairline designs with a peak or without the peak. :)

  14. Just got a reply from Dr.Rahal's clinic, In my online consultation with them, I had asked them what are the chances of Hair Not Growing or a Low Yield and their reply was a little confusing saying we do some Blood Tests to make sure you will not have any problems with the Yield. I understand Blood Test for HIV and Hapatitis but how and what Blood Test gotta do with the Hair Transplant Success !! Could not figure out !

  15. A couple leading hair transplant dr clinic talk about doing some sort of blood test to find out if there will be no problem with the hair graft growing and one can have proper yield I am wondering how can blood tests alone help figure out if the transplanted fair graft will grow or not? Anybody who has had experience with leading clinics if you guys can shed done light on this.

  16. Hi Guys,

I need a genuine suggestion from everyone of you here, As my date of Hair Transplant keeps arriving nearer I am getting more and more inquisitive on the Hairline I would want to have so I thought let me ask for some suggestions here. What stay friends ? :) can you please pour in your suggestions.

If the end result is like the first picture (with full grown hair) is that I want, which is like a square looking forehead. Should I be going with a hairline design which is in the other picture which is a hairline without the peak or should I be going with a hairline with a widows peak ? Any suggestions ? :)

    Thanks in Advance !

  17. Just had a FUE procedure done by Dr Bhatti of darling buds clinic on 12/2/13.

My main area of concern was the hairline. Multiple surgeons placed me at a Norwood II going into a Norwood III.

    Hairline design:

Dr Bhatti and I redesigned the hairline 3 times until we were both agreeable. His initial hairline had 2 concave lines meeting at a widows peak which I was not satisfied with. I told him I wanted it more rounded and convex with no widows peak. His answer to that was "No way! I will not give you a hairline of a young man." So we agreed on a compromise, convex forelock with no widows peak and very slight concave temple lines.

Mate I have left you a PM, Can you please go through it and reply me back on it.
