  1. oh ok sorry I didn't connect the screen names. I would say that although you said you have always had that hairline (and i'll take your word) it does look like your hairline is receding but without seeing pics from you at a young age I'll take your word. I don't remember but I think you said in the other thread that you are in your thirties, I think you could get a HT to lower you hairline and I would recommend looking into FUE. Where are you located? You might have to travel to get a good doc to do the procedure.

Yep I am in my Late thirties, 37 to be Precise. I know people keep telling me and asking this, that do you have a receding hairline and I am so freakin tired of explaining people that, this is how it has been ever since I remember. I do not remember myself having any other hairline than this. I mean, c'mon is there anything embarassing to not to admit it. Who else a better Judge than me myself to know what it was earlier and what it is right now. I was born that way. (Gene Pool)

So frankly speaking with the Cost of FUE it does make me think, do I need this ? I mean had I had a hairloss, Baldness Problem that would have been a different thing. But I am thankfully not from the group of people who very badly need it. But then lately I have started feeling I wish I had some hair there. More from a Aesthetic point of view, More to look good, enhance my look.

Yes It is not compulsion for me to get it done. But I have a desire to look good. So I am confused let me put it that way :)

  2. Well as it typically is now a days on this forum your thread has turned into a pissing match over what method is better and your questions are being ignored so I will help you out.

lol :P as somebody just said be ready for a Backlash from the Anti-FUE Brigade !!

My first question to you is why you are considering a HT if you are not losing hair? ...

I dont have a hair loss problem, But I have very deep gone inside forehead which shows a Forehead as if there is no Hair in the extreme corners of my Forehead. so I am trying to do a Patch Work kind of thing there. Just to Marginally cover the empty areas of my Forehead.

When they are referring to yield they mean the percentage of grafts that are transplanted that actually grow. In general FUE has a lower yeild than FUT but can be negligible in the hands of the right surgeon or can be exacerbated by certain patient characteristics.

Goodness Gracious me this can get scary, so that means If I walk out from a Surgeons Clinic after getting the FUE HT Procedure done, thinking that I may have hair there and hair will grow there it may actually happen that the hair will never grow there ?? I can be duped that way !! I pay for it and what if never grows ??

  3. Tbh the yield is something you need to consider for FUE. Every patient is different and in some patients there is a lot of transection of follicles leading to wasted grafts. No doctor can predict how much transection you will get, hence some perform a test of a few grafts first.

My advice is research on this forum. Both methods have their place. FUE in my opinion is better suited to people with minor hair loss who will not experience extensive hair loss.

If you have a family history of extensive hair loss I would go for strip surgery since with FUT you can generally get more grafts since when the dr removes the strip you can use all the grafts on the strip.

    Hope it helps.

Ok couple of things here that can help me take a decision from the points that you have made firstly I don't have any hair loss nor do I have a family history of hair loss. Also the Hair a graft brig considered in my case is also pretty less could be 500 Grafts to begin with and under any circumstances not going beyond a max of 1500 grafts so in that case should I be only doing FUE ?

  4. OK, I have met a couple of Doctors who do only FUHT (The Strip Mehtod) who do not talk good about the FUE method saying that though there is no Visible Scarring in the FUE method, there is a lot of damage that happens to the surrounding areas of the Donor Areas, also if say for e.g 10 hair follicles are extracted from the Donor Area out of that atleast 3-4 Hair Follicles are wasted, so there is a lof of wastage that happens in the FUE Method ?

    is that True ?

And obviously Doctor who do FUE don't talk good about FUHT saying it s avery old technique with a scar and lot of limitations...

So which Method is the best ?

  5. You are not bald enough for an HT. go enjoy your life.

Absolutely I am not bald at all. But whenever people look at me they get an impression either I have a Hair Loss or I have a receding hairline, when the fact is I know it is neither of the case. Who else could be a better Judge then myself and I have been watching this since last 37 years that I am alive :-) that it has not changed one bit. One of the reasons perhaps for these is I have extremely extremely staright, silky hair. It is super/ultra fine in Texture that does not look very thick in compsition..But yes the Deep Forehead sometimes bothers me. I dont know I am confused should I be doing it at all or not.

One of the Doctors that I met locally suggested me, start with a very mnimal of HT see how it goes for you and then think about covering a bigger area. Because from small you can go for Big, but from Big you cannnot go back to small, you cannot undo what you have done !! You will be stuck !

  6. Very true. I think it really depends on the doctor as well. A good doctor should be able to plant your hair to where it is undetectable that you have had a transplant. This is not ALWAYS the case, but the there are several docs that I have never seen a result that is detectable.

However. they can become detectable after further loss after you have had an HT.

By being conservative, meaning not being too aggressive with your hairline, you have a much less chance of having a detectable result. I wish my hairline was a little higher, but I am a worry wart. My hair almost looks perfect but I fear the future. Were it a little more conservative (1cm higher) I would be a little more comfortable about my future loss. Luckily i opted for recessed corners so that if will look more natural as I age.

So with a very minimal of HT just to cover the empty areas of my deep gone inside forehead how many Gradts would I require ? any rough guess ?

  7. How old are you. You do not have great pics up but you really do like you may have some miniaturization in the the front, but, if you are at a decent age (30 imo), and have not hairloss. You really have nothing to lose (but money) if you go to the right doctor. It really would not that but maybe 1.5 cm drop to make a big difference in your appearance.

Most of the doctors recommended by this forum will give you a completely natural and undetectable hairline. The only restrain is how much donor do you have to offer. If you are really not balding, and won't bald, then this is not an issue for you and the sky is the limit (within reason).

My suggesting is to be fairly conservative no matter what your age or how old you are, because I think some recession is very natural, especially in your mid 30's and beyond.

    Thanks for your reply...

Couple of things that I did not understand

It really would not that but maybe 1.5 cm drop to make a big difference in your appearance.

Can you please explain this ? 1.5 CM drop ? Do you mean if my hairline is brought down by 1.5 CM down ? is that what you mean ?

I am 38 years old. Like I have said I have never had Hair loss Problem, so my donor area is just fantastic.

My suggesting is to be fairly conservative

When you say be fairly conservative what do you exactly mean ?

  8. Hey Guys,

I need a sincere/genuine suggestion from you guys here people who have knowledge about Hair Transplant Procedure and the Pro's and Con's of it. I know how it feels to someone if he has lost all his hair and if someone with just a minor problem asks for suggestion, people start looking at him with Prejudice so I hope though mine is a improved case people dont look and answer my question with extreme prejudice.

I am not Bald atall, Nor am I losing hair atall. I have a very deep gone inside forehead ever since I was born. It has been like this ever since my childhood and people think that I have a receding hairline, which is not the case.

For a moment Hair Transplant thought does touch my mind, But having said that I dont wanna go for a like a Complete transformation in my appearance, like a total change in my look, Like a new Avatar. I was wondering if it is possible to Cover the empty areas in the extreme left and right corners, also around my temple areas with some hair. (I have attached a Picture)

Now firstly I would like to ask you guys like I said I am not bald, so though the idea behind doing this is to enhance my current look, it is not a must do for me. What I would like to know from all of you guys is, if I do this, will it look Natural, should I be doing it in the first place will it help any ways, I don’t wanna end up having like a artificial hairline like a Barbie Doll Hairline. If yes How many Grafts do you guys think would I require just to cover this much area.

    Thanks in advance,

    Augustya

  9. steer clear from jack of all trades HT doctors. find one that specializes in hair transplants. as stated there are far better choices in India. check out Dr. Bhatti if ur lookn for FUE.

Dr.Bhatti operates out of Chandigarh and I am in the south of India Bangalore.Travelling could be a big issue here.

It is like you are based in Florida and you are thinking about a Doctor up in Washington :D
