  1. My inhibition about using it is, even the Rogsine official website says initially you can expect some thinning of hair and my problem is I have never used it before so in my case most likely it will result in initial thinning which. I am Not so comfortable with !!

But does it not obstructs the survival of the new transplanted hair follicles will it but have any adverse effect on them ?

  2. The more grafts the more likely it is for them to not survive and grow I I'm not mistaken, so high numbers if grafts like 60-70 a probably done better over 2 procedures.

That may be why surgeons like bhatti treat 45 as the standard number to reduce the risk of this happening, but it s possible to get a large number of grafts and have them survive

Yep very correct, even I was gonna ask everyone here that how much sense does it make sense to do a dense packing and invite the possibility of a risk of some graft not surviving and hence what is the ideal dense packing but 45-55 Grafts per Sq.Cm looks a safer option.

But my question here is, if some one is just a Norwood 2 or maybe 3 and most likely he is not gonna repeat a HT ever in his life with a say 45 Grafts per sq.cm he may be left with a see through result so should one attempt a High density in the first attempt or even not willing still go for a second procedure to increase density is really a catch 22 situation !!

  3. Most doctors advise to wait a week to ten days post surgery to resume rogaine/minoxidil. I presume this is to not irritate the grafts and or impair healing. However, if you are putting minoxidil on a different part of the scalp then where the grafts are (i.e, the crown), I would assume this is a non issue. No reason to stop.

So ten days after your HT you can even use it on your transplanted area ? Is it ? Will it not hinder the growth of new transplanted hair follicles ?

  4. Hi Guys,

I had a question on using Rogaine, I have never used Rogaine ever in my life nor did I ever felt the need to use it until now when I did my Hair Transplant as part of the Post Operative Treatment and care I have been advised to use Rogaine 2% for 2 weeks and then 4% for there after.

I had some questions about using Rogaine, hope some of you can chip with some comments...

    1. is the result with Rogaine just like the way it works with Finasteride, which is the moment you stop taking Finasteride all your results start diminishing is it the same way with Rogaine the moment one stops it the results vanish. At the Max I intend to use it for 6 months not for life long so If I am not gonna use it for life long should I not start it at all... or is it like a trap? once you start using it, you cant stop it !! BTW I don't have any active hair loss.

    2. Does it have any side effects like Finasteride ?

    3. Does it cause any adverse effect, if one starts using immediately after 2 weeks of doing a HT, will it cause any harm on my new transplanted hair follicles anyways in their growth or survival ?

Yeah the last point is very important for me, will it cause any harm in my newly transplanted hair follicles in their growth ?

    Please advise guys !

    Thanks in Advance

  5. the 12 months results are not good.Whatever have grown are sparse and there are hundreds of grafts sitting on my crown without any growth.they just refused to grow for so many months i think they are dead n just stuck to my skin.WHAT A WASTE of my grafts N time (money is too far to think of).

i would not recommend this clinic plus they care a damn to reply by email/phone.

Why to use a doctor who would not be able to get connected ever after the surgery.

rather go with Dr arviind or dr bhatti if in India n looking only for FUE.

Couple of factors that can lead to this one being was your work, HT too densely packed ? Can you let us know what was the density done in your HT ?

  6. it doesnt matter what advice people give you, you seem to be a huge worrier if your previous threads are anything to go by, you need to man up and wait this thing out!!

    12 months, 12 months!!!!!!!!!

Yeah ! I did my research for good 8 months and then Took the plunge but failed to fathom the post operative care period which is so bloody bloody sensitive man ! I am like WTF ?? is this how this thing works and hence am getting paranoid at every single instance!

By the way I have not even uttered a single word about results for which I know I need to wait ! So am a big worry some guy for this strange phenomenon Happening with me not for the results ! Mind you there is a difference in the earlier example that you are quoting and the situation now !!

  7. Today is my 10th day after my HT. Till today morning I used to see a single hair graft which was without a scab, I mean the scab had come out I guess a little earlier so this hair graft was seen directly inserted in the scalp skin. Today morning later when I did my shampoo this very fine single hair graft disappeared I am getting worried have I lost this hair graft ? or has the shedding of hair started? but my other scabs and hair have yet not started to come off ? So what could this be ? Have I lost this hair graft ? I was under the impression from the 7-10 days hair grafts don't come off. So what do I presume will this hair come back or have I lost it :-( this happened just 5 hours to go before 10 days my HT took place. In Other words it was the start of the 10th day today !

  8. Hi Guys,

Regarding the asymmetry issue: Hairlines are supposed to be asymmetrical. Natural frontal (anterior) hairlines are composed of two components: a macro-hairline and a micro-hairline. The micro-harline is the first 5-10mm of the anterior hairline, which is the area many refer to as the "transition zone" and is the region filled in exclusively with 1 hair follicular units during a hair transplant procedure. The macro-hairline is the 1-3cm behind the micro-hairline, and this is where the surgeon will transition into larger grafts and truly creates the density of the hairline.

Both these hairline regions are naturally asymmetrical. Irregularity in the macro-hairline is called "macro-irregularity" and asymmetry in the micro-hairline is called "micro-irregularity." In order to recreate a natural hairline, surgeons must design a hairline with both macro and micro-irregularity. I think some of the asymmetry individuals are discussing above is actually appropriate macro-irregularity in the hairline.

    Hope this helps!

Great Explanation Blake, but I don't think the OP is talking about macro irregularity and the micro irregularity in terms of the hairline to give it a natural look. I think what he meant was perhaps he is indicating his one side appears higher and the other side a little lower from where the hairline starts, what you are talking about is aspects which are taken in to consideration to give it a natural looking hairline but that is not the point here.

  9. Wow. Some good advice mixed with some complete nonsense!

I think you had FUE with a well known Dr in India. These instructions may be of use:

After FUE Hair Transplant Surgery & Post-op Instructions | Bernstein Medical

Well, the Post Operative Instrcutions Booklet that I have been given talks more clearly about the care for the 2 weeks post op which is avoiding direct shower, There is nothing mentioned in it on when can I resume Nomral showering. I made it a point to ask to the Doctor when can I freely, absolutely without any fear of "oh my god what if my grafts get dislodged" like a free bird  have a shower and he said 1 Month. But people just before me, who have got their HT Done, have already started taking a direct shower after 2 weeks. The problem is because the Post OP Booklet does not mention anything very categorily about when can you have a direct shower ! It talks about care only till 2 weeks which is just cleaning your grafts not showering it.

  10. I have never heard of 1 month before showering or washing your head, seems very unhygienic to me and very susceptible to bacterial infection

Yep thats what even I am fearing about, my scalp has become so greasy, oily and dirty right now that I feel like going under a shower right now, and more one month would be like killing myself. Right, even I am worried about the same thing, Bacterial Infection especially in the Donor area if I dont take a head wash on the donor area and clean it ! This is getting confusing !!
