  1. Pleasure, buddy! I have a lot of good mates in Jo'burg....and I stayed in Sandton for the short time I spent in South Africa. However, Cape Town is what I fell in love with! Haha, I'm sure that's the case with loads of visitors. I even went as far as figuring out how I could move there!! =) I am from the Western United States (Nevada/California border), but traveled to Eastern Canada for my procedure. If I were you, I would make a short list of about 5 or so surgeons whose work you like....and you can slowly eliminate from your list from there. Since this will be your 3rd procedure, it will be important to do it properly......as you don't want to waste any grafts from your donor. I certainly wouldn't rule out strip either just because you weren't thrilled with the results before; however because of your minimal hair loss, you would certainly be an excellent candidate for FUE. I'm guessing you could achieve the look you are trying to with a relatively small amount of grafts (2000-3000). A lot of patients seem to be pleased with Dr. Umar's work....but again, it never hurts to research multiple possibilities. You seem to be an educated consumer...so I'm sure you'll do your proper research before diving in. This forum is an excellent source for advice, support, and information! You are in a great place here, so if you ever need anything along the way....don't hesitate to ask. We are all on here for the same reasons, and it is definitely like having another family!! =) Keep us posted when you make up your mind. Best, Mike
  2. Travolta definitely has a decent state of hair loss......and although I haven't seen him in the Killing Season, if he has a full head of hair, I'm guessing they did something to "Hollywood his hair"!!
  3. Sufferer- Welcome to the forum, buddy! South Africa huh? Lekker! I got back from an 18 day trip to ZA last year, and fell in love with your country. There are a lot of great physicians who are recommended on here, and who perform terrific hair restorations with minimal loss patients such as yourself. A lot of the surgeons perform excellent dense-packing, and outstanding results. Have you started to make a list of physicians you're interested in? That's usually a good starting point. Also, do you plan to have an FUSS or an FUE procedure. You said you have had 2 transplants before.....how many grafts were used in total, and where did you have the work done. I think your hair looks great, but you came to the right place if you're looking to find a surgeon who will achieve the results you desire. Welcome again, and please keep us posted with whatever it is you decide to do! Best, Mike
  4. Hey Can't- I know your procedure was today buddy. Was thinking about you as I was driving home from San Fran. You're probably a bit sore and resting up, but hope to hear all about your big day soon.....mainly that graft count Mr. "Jello Head"!!! =)
  5. I'll be posting my 9 month results in 2 short weeks. Time certainly does just fly by......
  6. Wow Toharbourfront, looks like a great scar even shaved down to a 2 guard. How do you feel about everything?! The buzzed look really suits you!!
  7. Hey Mr.P! Wow, a month already??!! Congrats. Now comes the fun part of waiting for things to grow. I commented on your post on Dr. Rahal's home page as well, but everything is looking terrific so far, and you're going to be a new man soon with the results! Really happy for you, and excited to continue to follow your case closely. Hope all is well with you!! Best, Mike
  8. I think HookHairs looks terrific; and although it isn't entirely common for this to happen, it does occur from time to time. The good news is the shed is slowing and the hair will regrow. Dr. Rahal guarantees his work, and would stand by a procedure that didn't take. The good news for you, this won't be the case for HH. And I really think he looks terrific, especially when comparing to his pre-op photos. I sent him a PM to see how everything is going and if he is back on track with the regrowth. I'll update this thread if I hear anything new......
  9. Gwar- Welcome to the forum. Your transplant was a huge success; you look great! Thank you for sharing your photos and your story with us, and enjoy your new hair!!
  10. Dr. Doganay, I don't know how I missed this result, but I am extremely impressed with this outcome in particular. The patient looks fantastic!!!! It's great to see so many consistently good results coming out of your clinic. Please continue to do what you're doing, and thanks for sharing your results with the forum community.
  11. This is a great result. What a difference some hair up front makes......Nice work Dr. Madhu.
  12. Looks to be a really subtle, but nice improvement by Dr. Bisanga. Especially with only 1800+ grafts....I'm sure this patient is happy to have his hairline restored. Nice work BHR!
  13. I would agree with the others who commented and suggested using a clinic outside of the UAE/Arab region!! I don't ever see consistently good results, and there are plenty of other options available fairly close if you didn't want to travel far. In my honest opinion, the result isn't bad....but it's not great either. Again, maybe that boils down to the small number of grafts used, but I would reconsider having a second procedure done at the same clinic.....just to make sure you get the most bang for your buck (and for the sake of your limited donor supply). Best, Mike
  14. Phenomenal transformation Dr. Cooley. The patient must be thrilled with his result, as it completely shaved years off of him!! The immediate post-op photos are very impressive as well.....very clean work. Thank you for sharing this result!
  15. OtherSyde- Really happy for you buddy. Already looking terrific at 4 months. I had a lot of growth at 4 months, and then month 5-6 was probably one of my biggest (just as the "timeline" above would suggest). Congrats on your recent degree.....I'd say a new head of hair may just be the best graduation gift you'll ever give yourself! You wouldn't hope that a prospective employer would select an employee based on looks, but studies indicate that looks have a huge part in landing a job. I'd say you're on track with your result so far to keep yourself from being eliminated from the applicant pool when you're ready to land that job! Congrats again, and thanks for the update! Can't wait to see next months photos, cause it just keeps getting better from here...... Best, Mike
  16. That hair cut/style definitely suits you. Before long, you won't have to be "hiding" anything at all!! Did you tell your stylist that you had a transplant? If not.....you should not say anything, and see if he or she notices if there is anything different about your hair when you finally do return. My cousin cuts my hair, or I would have played this "game" on her.....although with my level of loss, it would have been quite obvious!
  17. Looks great! What a huge difference from pre-op!! Almost 5800 grafts....that was a heck of a mega-session.
  18. I agree with Spex 110%. Dr. Charles is a top-notch guy, and a first-class surgeon!! He also participates frequently in these forums; always great to see contributing physicians. Congratulations on your hair restoration jpthind. Welcome to the forums, and please do keep us updated with your progress along the way. These forums are a great source of knowledge and support. Best, Mike
  19. I disagree. It could be the lighting or the angle in your most recent photos; but compared to your pre-op photo you posted early on in your thread, I think your hair already is looking much better! From the profile shots you took and posted in your 3 month post-op photos, you can't tell you have any hair loss at all. I think all is looking great so far. Likewise, I am happy to hear that your scar was revised to your satisfaction. The next 3 months are going to be very exciting for you in terms of growth. Looking forward to watching your case progress, and thanks for the update! Best, Mike
  20. This patient came to Dr. Rahal to restore his frontal hairline, and received 2617 grafts via FUE. The patient emailed us these photos recently to share the progress of his results. He is currently 9 months post-op from his procedure, and is very satisfied with the transplant and the state of his hair currently.
  21. Man, Can't!!! Can't wait to see the final result! It's guys like you that make guys like me wanting more hair....so thanks a lot for that! Hahahaha! Best of luck to you this time around.......I can't wait to see the crown photos and what this is going to do for you. Very exciting......
  22. Spanker- Congrats my friend. You truly deserve it....you look TERRIFIC! Enjoy your new head of hair!
  23. Nice Work Dr. Charles!! Looks really nice for only 2000 grafts. Does this patient plan to return for additional coverage in the future??
