  1. I have heard of some doctors using this during aftercare. Basically the idea with liposome encapsulated ATP is to deliver as much adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to the cells as possible to speed up wound healing. ATP synthesis is often the rate limiting step during wound healing so the thought is that if you can supply ATP as an energy source you can speed up healing. It's encapsulated in a liposomal preparation because ATP itself is not effectively delivered to cells and is subject to degradation. With that being said I don't see the need for it. The areas that this is most effective is in chronic wounds like diabetic foot ulcers or pressure ulcers, hair transplants heal fairly quickly so it would most likely be unnecessary.
  2. I sincerely hope the transplant doctor laughs at you and promptly sends you packing. You have perfect hair!! The hair stylist was probably just trying to sell you something. I would prostitute myself for your head of hair, lol.
  3. That is true Minoxidil has been found to inhibit gene expression of the enzyme lysyl hydroxylase which is involved in the production of collagen, so it can increase wrinkles and skin aging. However I'm not sure to what extent, all of the studies I have seen are cell based and molecular in nature, I have not seen any studies focused on the formation of wrinkles. I have heard people claim maintenance with minox alone, I just don't see how it's possible without an androgen blocker. I guess it's better than nothing though.
  4. Damn man why did you ever have a transplant with him? From those pictures your hair looked perfect!!
  5. That's because you have no understanding of genetics. One thing you said is true however, there is no rigid theory to blame genes, there is just mountains of scientific evidence. P.s.- Not sure how the word "canonical" applies here. Are you implying that cannon law somehow relates to hair loss?
  6. What side effects are you worried about? Also minoxidil works as a growth stimulator, it isn't going to do much for maintaining your existing hair. Finasteride is really the only medication that can help maintain your hair.
  7. The saying that mpb is inherited from your mother is an old wives tale. Androgenetic alopecia is an autosomal dominant disorder with variable penetrance. This means that its inheritance is not sex related, it is a dominant disorder so if it runs in your family you are more than likely going to inherit it, and to what extent a person will be effected is variable and cannot be fully determined by looking at family history. Short story is you can inherit mpb from either parent. Also anyone who tells you where the gene for mpb is located is full of shit, because there is no single one gene involved and all of the genes involved have not been identified. There are numerous genes and pathways involved in mpb which is why it is proving so hard to identify and treat.
  8. vitals.com is probably just a sham site pretending to provide doctor reviews, when in fact it is just an advertising tool
  9. All I want for Christmas is the hair you already had before the transplant, lol! Anyways it looks good, congrats! Also I would be careful touching the recipient area this early.
  10. Not to Freak you out, but that is a little concerning. You have already exhausted a good deal of donor planting a very aggressive hairline, and at only a few weeks post op the doctor is telling you the density may not be good enough and you may need to use more precious donor for your hairline. If the doctor didn't think 2000 grafts was enough, why didn't he tell you that prior to surgery? Anyways here's to hoping you don't lose more hair and you have great yield, good luck!
  11. I think it could be possible, however probably not for some time. I'm not aware of any research being done in this area, but I haven't really looked either, in theory it could be possible. The cells responsible for hair color are called melanocytes, they produce two types of melanin, eumelanin and phaeomelanin. The proportions of these two pigments is what determines a persons hair color. I could see a way to up regulate or down regulate one or both of these pigments to achieve the desired hair color being possible. However, like I said I'm not aware of anyone working on this and if they are I wouldn't plan on anything like this being a reality for a long time.
  12. That's the thing though Dr. Mwamba isn't putting his reputation on the line. Everyone assumed that because Mwamba was looking into it, it meant Nigam was legit. However even Mwamba said he didn't know, but that he just wants investigate it further because he wants to offer regeneration to his patients. If in a year Mwamba comes back and says he gave it a try and it didn't work, it will not effect his reputation one single bit, in fact it would probably increase his reputation, because he was willing to try something to move the industry forward.
  13. Do you use the liquid minox? If so that is probably the cause of the dandruff and you might want to switch to the foam
  14. I just use razor blades, I find they work really well for me
  15. Holy hell!! That is some pretty impressive coverage for only 3222 grafts, and its only 6.5 months! Congrats man, you look great!

  17. I agree you're heading to NW 5/6 territory. Get on finasteride asap to keep as much of the hair you have left as possible. Then try and figure out from a few top fue doctors how many grafts they think you have available over your lifetime. If you have enough to get the result you want now and keep up with future loss go with fue. If you don't have sufficient lifetime donor with fue, you will need to go the strip route.
  18. It would be a big gamble and probably a big mistake. You have good hair, appreciate it.
  19. This was settled some time ago. As far as I'm aware it was a simple issue of his license expiring when he was not aware of it. Dr. Charles is a great doctor and seems like a great guy, he is one of the most active doctors on the forums offering up free advice.
  20. Please tell me that fueonly is not American and English is not his first language, if so our education system is far worse than I thought...
