  1. Unless that 8 minute stroll took place on the sun's surface, the brief exposure shouldn't be a problem for someone 9 weeks post op.
  2. Agreed. Whether you hear about a doctor through a commercial or word of mouth, it's their results in restoring hair that matters. I'm skeptical of Bosley and Hair Club because of their practices, not the way they advertise.
  3. Hair loss patterns can't be determined exactly, and it's even more difficult with younger individuals. A series of small operations could turn out to be very costly and your donor hairs may not last for when you truly need them. I wouldn't (and most doctors wouldn't) recommend locking yourself into that lifelong path at such a young age.
  4. From the way you described it, it doesn't sound like balding since balding is an action and your hairtype seems to be staying still. Take some good pictures of the crown and hairline so you can see if it's getting worse down the road.
  5. Combing hair won't do any permanent damage unless you're using a rake or something
  6. I don't know if there's any fact or psychology study behind that quote, but regardless of its truth, its pretty manipulative and seems to be trying to lower people's self esteem for the sake of attracting business. Not the classiest move. People with hair loss are more suspicious? Suspicious of what? What does that even mean?
  7. That's interesting that HT can be done without shaving. Best of luck to you and have fun in India!
  8. I'm not sure if anyone has experience with this, but if I had to wager a guess, your wife will figure out you had a ht. You can hide it from friends and coworkers, but someone that close to you will notice somethings up, even with a four weeks grace period.
  9. Thanks for sharing. The time after a HT can be incredibly stressful. You're not the only one with these concerns, but just keep your head up and you'll be great before you know it
  10. Good article. Generally, that looks about right, but your doctor knows your specific situation and can give you the best advice.
  11. I'd be nervous too if I had to forcibly remove my own hair, but if your doctor recommended it, I'm sure its safe. RCwest is right, your grafts should be good after 10 weeks.
  12. You probably know mentally that you're fine, but your'e still emotionally frustrated. Hope all these supportive posts show that you have nothing to worry about.
  13. The anesthetics block any pain from the procedure, but you'll feel tiny pricks when the anesthetic is applied. Trust me its nothing you can't handle. The pain of hair loss is much worse.
  14. Dr. Gabel, Ken talked about numbness on his scalp in the video. Through your experience how common is it to have numbness two months post op? Thanks! Looking good so far!
  15. Nice! Looks like you made some great progress
  16. It sucks when your growth isn't what you were expecting, but it does look pretty good and I bet it will look awesome if you give it more time.
  17. If only genetics were so simple. It would make decisions about hair loss so much easier!
  18. That's something to consider. As we get older, we start looking harder for signs of getting older, and we start noticing things that have been there all along. Shedding hair is natural and not always a sign of mpb, but it can often feel like it.
  19. No hair loss history in the family is definitely a positive sign, but remember that looking at family history works only as a good guess as to what your own hair will do.
  20. Looks pretty good so far. Hopefully the right side will grow in a bit more in the coming months.
  21. I never thought about how chlorine affected hair loss... good to know it doesn't cause further damage
  22. You should definitely talk to a doctor or pharmacist before trying that. It sounds like it could be dangerous.
  23. Amazing results! Congrats, it looks amazing.
