  1. Will post hopefully soon. Will post soon. I have been putting rogaine in my donor. Still doesnt seem to do much. Thanks for the well wishes.
  2. Saw Dr. Rahal yday. He examined again and acknowledged . Facial framing/hairline design concerns, temporal issues, density/yield issues, and donor issues were discussed and are to be addressed going forward. To address concerns he did say it looks to be [/u]at least[/u] another 1500 grafts. I haven't really cut or faded my hair with short clippers on the sides. This is due to some noticable donor halo where extractions were concentrated. You can still see it in longer length but doctor suggested two workarounds for it that can be done to remedy situation with donor. He did mention alternatives approaches/treatments and facilities to remedy my concerns and to see how to proceed. At the end of the day, i just want what i went to get a restoration for in the first place without any added tension. This is also Based on the results and goals i showed, including those of patients whose results were highlighted from marketing materials, advert/social media. This has been a very hectic journey so far. It isn't an easy task to get multiple surgeries when your paid time off is used and taken away from your family vacation time. Surgery itself is tiring and stressful. Another thing that can do a number on you is the waiting periods/time towards my restoration goal, to be free and able to move forward. I've been reasonably waiting for quite some time. I am now going on 33 hoping to enjoy a future without hair concerns, hopefully sometime soon. As a war Veteran, this is very important to me. I will be looking forward to finalizing plan of action soon to see what to do. Dr Rahal provided options and said he is willing to make sure all my concerns are addressed. By the way, for the many folks that kept emailing/skyping to ask me questions and tell me they were reconsidering not using DR Rahal due to ARTAS robot concerns, he no longer uses it. He uses a motorized punch and few months ago, he upgraded to a newer one that his clinic seems to be satisfied with. Regarding the punch, you can ask his clinic more about it. So his surgeries are performed by humans, not robots. Hope that clears any confusion.
  3. This is interesting. Are there any results showing graft yield when mFUE is utilized? Preferably, hairline and temporal work? Aside from other advantages, It is great these two things are mentioned and noted regarding mFUE: *All manual tools and techniques. Nothing is motorized or automated. *All extraction is done by the hair transplant surgeon.
  4. good luck, hope this time your goals are addressed.
  5. See how the meds switch is for a year. Dont jump to it. Look at numerous body hair results. I see your from Norway. Europe and Turkey seems to be putting out some great FUE results and now some clinics are using body hairs effectively too. Have multiple consultations. See what each doc us able to offer. Plan it carefully, best of luck.
  6. Joe do you have skype or number for guys to ask you questions? Do you or Dr Karadeniz have any plans to tour the upstate NY area?
  7. Its not just about the density, for hairlines, see who properly frame the hairline to your face. Then decide on density on zones. See also who also is known to do the best donor extractions, you do not want shockloss or patches. Goid luck
  8. Youngun, whatever you decide, make sure you go to a doc with high yield results and one that extracts fue grafts versus variety of techs (techs with varying years of experiences).. Not every doc can achieve high density FUE (FUT maybe, but not for FUE). There are few docs that can.. Such results come from docs who break up procedures and work on one patient at a time using the right surgical protocol, ensuring great care for a patient's safety. Also, avoid docs that use really thick lines to show what your design will look like. It could be they plant behind the marked area making you thing they will start planting hairs in front of the markings. This is important since you want an asymmetrical hairline with density. You need to make sure doctors frame your face properly. Some docs may have a habit of raising the right side of your hairline at a higher elevation versus the left. Perfection and quality work is important as well as your safety so you dont keep going back for touchups trying to fight time lost and folks pointing things out for you.
  9. Well i got a hair restoration and then had to get a repair procedure, but folks look at the scalp still. Some have made comments saying i am losing hair or receding/thinning, and making comments of my hairline and temples and etc. some hve looked at the back of my head and said you have patches or hairloss, primarily where hairs were extracted. I mean on me i think they are looking because they see something. When i used lots of toppik in college, some folks use to stare at my head on days i cake it on, as it can change some color when sweat mixes with it or have a tint of another color, example the dark brown and black toppik can look purple if caked on and if sweator water mixes with it. If overly used, and if you cant see any scalp, toppike can make it look like a toupe is being worn. It is best to scatter it or brush it through to avoid wanderig eyes. I doubt folks look at wrinkles as they are common in most folks and an everyday thing.
  10. Careful when selecting. Consider this forum advice / message, which I think this was updated on this forum 2 days ago (5/26/15): "Considering a Hair Transplant? Be careful and learn from patients first. Physician SelectionThe skill and technique of hair restoration surgeons vary widely, as do their hair transplant results. This site is published by hair transplant patients to help others get past the hype to find quality prescreened hair transplant surgeons in Canada, the USA, Europe/Asia and South America." Source: http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/mobi/index.asp So as a patient, i am telling you to be careful and look for a doctor that involves themselves 100% in your procedure. A doctor that takes tgeir time and offers you security to resolve any ir all issues resulting from a transplant. This includes s refund policy if something goes downhill.
  11. Oh i get those wandering eyes all the time. If it looks odd, unnatural, you will. I think too much toppik can make it look tooo dense, esp since your sides are not the same density. That may cause wandering eyes because it will look different in different lighting. Whether it is lack of density, uneven hairline, temporal issues, etc, these things can cause folks to stare.
  12. Procedures are a lot cheaper overseas. You can even get one on one doctor participation in surgery without use of techs at fraction of the cost. Some folks pay 1/4 the price and still end up with terrific results. Take a look at Dr. Bhatti pricing, Dr. Karadeniz, Dr. Keser etc... Look at their surgical protocol and price. Dr Vories is in US and teasonably oriced, but you cant find others that will give you less than $4 per graft for FUE in North America.
  13. Excellent, finally folks are educating how easy and safe it is to do FUE and procedures overseas. Glad to see Hariri getting his concerns addressed by a doc doing the surgery extractions himself versus techs. Are the rates listed new or has it always been like this? I thought it was 1 euro per graft fue but was not aware of the 2000 surgery fee? Are you still looking for folks for the documentary? Can't wait to see it.
  14. Travel should never be a factor, have you considered international FUE ? It is where you may be able to get manual non motorized fue for 1/4 of the cost probably including flight? You may want an expert that only dedicates and solely practices fue making extractions with their own hands one by one. Grafts are priceless so the treatment on your scalp should be wit full attention to detail without any room for error or hair mill like service. Good luck.
  15. your hair looks great. look at your density as is, it looks better than some that have had surgery already. your hair is framing your face well as is. some folks seem they dont even have such framing even after surgery. so you are really ahead of the game. you do not have to worry about surgery at his point.
  16. Vitamins may react differently in each person, but folks have tried Biotin, Vitamin B complex, fish oil capsula with efa/dha , MSM in their hairloss regimen with some results making the texture overall quality of theit hair better. You can give those a shot if you are not allergic to any ingredients. If Finasteride caused you sexual issues then you should proceed with caution. Everyone reacts differently, there were radio peraonalities that just didn't hear about such side effects, but when the maker of finasteride labeled them, they acknowledged it to listeners and what not. Finasteride can cause side effects differently in each person where some may be reversible and some may not be. No one can say it is entirely flawless or safe to use as each person will react differently.
  17. I think the best you can do is to eat and and exercise to be healthy and continue to take minoxidil. Remember, rogaine can take some time to show its effects, may take up to a year to show full effect. You may shed some hairs in the beginning but it is just shedding of weaker hairs to make room for stronger hairs. Other than that, you can try using concealers to hide thinning hairs. Even using volume increasing shampoos may help to add illusion of thicker hair. Use rogaine as directed.
  18. Choose the one that does manual and does the actual procedure versus techs. Whatever is safer for your scalp. Good luck.
  19. Dr. Feriduni seems to be excellent in hairlines. I think i read he stopped using motorized drill punches to extract fue grafts? Maybe to be efficient with yield. So, i am guessing your procedure would be manual? Good luck with everything.
  20. Researchinhair, if you are planning to do FUE in North America, Dr Vories is a unique choice. You wont find many, if any, docs that will do manual FUE and 100% of the extractions themselves. A lot may rely on techs to do surgical task including scorin tissue. I think Dr. Vories surgical FUE protocol, for now, is ideal and favorable at the price he offers it today. What forum thread made you have second thoughts about him, can you share as I would like to know as well? David, are there any other docs in North America that do manual fue and 100% fue extractions themselves? Is there a list? I know Dr. bhatti has a similar surgical FUE protocol.
  21. North, hope you get some resolution when this is said and done. One side is elevated. When you comb backwards or stick hair up, it is clear to see there is elevation on one side. Unless you want to restict your hair style to combing sideways with a part. Wish you the best and hope your goals and what was marketed are met. FTC review
  22. Seems like Turkey is a place to be for FUE.
  23. Techs can help by inserting grafts into incisions doc has created. Docs should extract the grafts and make incisions at the very least. Techs can count hairs or group grafts into dishes, prep fut strips, review grafts under microscopes, clean patient heads, address patient questions, teach patients aftercare, and other assistance like things but should not be part of the actual surgical aspect of surgery. They should not be making extractions, surgically scoring into tissue, or creating recipient sites. You dont know enough about the tech or their backgrounds. If you are under a clinic that uses a doctors name, they should also have the doc do it all. Otherwise, what are you paying for?
  24. Very high yield based on the number of grafts and coverage area. Efficient use if grafts and ability to maintain density. Very impressive case.
  25. Average income in Turkey is far less in North America. US and Canada follow a more capitalistic model of making money. Highly commercial based industry and less labor intensive by the surgeons themselves(very very few extract FUE themselves and use manual fue) This even when charging a very steep fue per graft premium. Some tech ran clinics may do it too in Turkey but charge less Still. However, there are also heavily involved doctor clinics in Turkey and in other countries that charge much much less, even if they do manual fue, one patient a day, all steps done by doctor for fue. That said, price is not going to go change much in North America. It barely did for fut too. This is when there were international clinics offerring less than a dollar a graft for fut during north americas fut boom. A lot of folks are going for complete plastic surgeries internationally due to lower costs and coming back with the same results. Difference is would you pay $3000 or $30000 for the same quality of work. Most people are shifting to lower cost clinics overseas. Remember the saying on this forum, dont let distance be a factor. Get a passport and be ready to travel.
