  1. I agree with the advise that Spanker and others are giving you and I think you would be pleasantly surprised at how good a buz cut would look on you. Having said that, I never make a major decision without getting multiple professional opinions. I don't doubt that the H&W rep is telling you the truth for the kind of procedure they offer. But you could also consider fue with a combo of scalp and beard/body hair if you really want to check out your options. It won't hurt anything to be evaluated by a few other clinics. Look at results from Umar, Bisanga and others who do bht.
  2. Jolly, I just went through your thread. You have one of the biggest transformations I've seen. Very nice! And you're right, they would have to notice but in a good way.
  3. I just made excuses. People at work knew I was on "vacation". People who I don't see everyday didn't even know I was gone.
  4. Man that's quite a camera you have! Any growth at this point would be considered early, especially for the crown. Can you feel any new bristles with your fingers yet?
  5. Most probably fall in that range but there are those who see earlier results and there are also late bloomers
  6. Hi Ko, My hair looked better in my before pics than it actually was. Most of the hair in my frontal third was miniaturized and not really style-able. I was able to fake it so to speak by keeping my hair short. If I didn't get a haircut every 3 weeks, the loss was much more obvious. Also, I've decided not to take meds so much of that miniaturized hair has since been lost and the crown continued to thin. If not for the 5700 grafts I would most likely be a solid NW 5 by now and probably heading towards a 6. The timing of it all worked out quite well in that most people around me didn't know how extensive my hair loss was so they haven't noticed that I've had a ht. Most of the comments I get from the unknowing is that my hair looks thicker.
  7. There are some credit cards that do not charge a conversion fee. That would also be a good option
  8. The time will go by surprisingly fast. The excitement and the nerves can get a little crazy until you actually get the the chair. Then things settle down. It sounds like your situation may be a blessing (as hair loss goes) since you will have your natural hairline. I'm sure Dr B will do an amazing job. In my case I'm sure I could have gotten another 600+ grafts from the scalp but I wanted to add a few beard hairs to see how it goes. Beard can potentially be another couple thousand grafts if ever needed.
  9. Hi Johnny, they are mostly from the scalp but I also had a few beard fue around 600 or so. When is your procedure? You must be excited.
  10. Hi Stinger, The doc said I do have some donor left but we haven't discussed how much. I will probably meet with him in the next couple months to see what the possibilities are. Thanks for the feedback.
  11. Hi All, Here is an update showing where I am 5 months post op from my third procedure. These pics are taken with my phone so the quality might seem a little different. I had been keeping my hair longer in the front which would cause the hair to hang over a little like bangs (or fringe as my UK firends call it). But this time, I decided to cut it short so the hairline is exposed and stands on its own. I was pleased to find that it looks very natural this way. Even under extreem light. I do tend to like the shorter cut. The crown is continuing to fill in. Its completely covered by hair but light still gets through and shows some skin. I still have some new hairs poking through and am sure there will be more density in the next few months. But, when I started this process, I decided that I did not want to take meds and I have been sticking to that. It is a trade off, however, so my lower crown has continued to thin. I may consult with Dr Bisanga again soon to discuss adding some grafts there. Please feel free to ask any questions
  12. 3 weeks is very early and still a lot of healing going on. I would wait.
  13. I don't think 1 day would make any difference one way or the other. The advice on how long to avoid strenuous activity seems to vary quite a bit from clinic to clinic. You should ask your clinic if they think that your specific job duties will be a problem or not.
  14. Well put. I have the exact same feeling. 48 is the new 35!
  15. Not sure if you do or don't but if you do it would be because you have a large area to cover. From the pics it looks like you are a NW 5 to 6. Sometimes there's not enough scalp donor hair to cover the bald area. So, if that's the case, beard or body hair can be used to give more coverage. It will depend largely on your donor density and the amount of coverage you desire. You could use the online consults button above to get advice directly from docs.
  16. Dude you posted that he was on your list and you asked questions. What do you mean by heavily promoted? Best of luck to you!
  17. Wow! Which fue docs are transecting 20-30% of the grafts?
  18. Haircrumble, I like your reasoning for deciding on fue and I think you are on the right track in considering docs in Belgium (not to say there aren't good fue docs elsewhere). I don't have experience with feriduni or mwamba so can't comment on them. I have had fue with Bisanga and can vouch for him. Generally speaking, you can expect to have techs work on you to some degree. I would, however, expect the doc to punch each and every graft and to make each and every incision for placement. I would not have a problem with experienced techs extracting the grafts once they have been punched by the doc and placing the grafts into the incisions made by the doc. Also, the processing of grafts will be done by techs. Feel free to hit me up if I can answer any questions or help in any way. Good luck with your research and I hope to see your updates once you decide.
  19. Yes, its normal for just a few to start. It sounds like you have some early growth. The rest will come is at different times.
