what makes you think the rosemary oil was a mistake?

I applied on day 14, day 15 heavy shedding started and my scalp was red like a crab within a week. Day 23-24 shedding was over and almost all transplanted hairs were gone. Doctor said this redness is not normal and gave me topical antibiotics. Up until I used the oil my scalp was healing good and wasn’t much red. So I assume that rosemary and peppermint oil caused inflammation because the skin was too sensitive back then.

4 days ago, on the 6th November, was the start of month 4. Here is a little update. First picture wet hair, 2nd dry with benefical lighting, 3 was from today with a wet look hair waxx and 4 is dry hair. The rest is my donor with a skin fade. I´m already pretty happy. On the left side between donor and recipient area you can see the shock loss still didnt recover fully. Last week I had a PRP session.IMG_8163.thumb.jpg.b1695b4c360efb973b9b16877f02bf54.jpgIMG_8165.thumb.jpg.4a1992b25eb36e7456fb7c800c5a3560.jpgIMG_8259.thumb.jpg.a7b491453a815b80ae4444c049ab219b.jpgIMG_8260.thumb.jpg.ed13787de1df7bfa4fbc9671cbff58b5.jpg

Fantastic result at 4 months. When I see things like this I’m glad I picked Dr Laorwong. @Sele how many PRP sessions have you done since your HT?

I had PRP (and so called stem cell) with Dr. Laorwong during the transplant. And then one PRP session about 10 days ago. But I do micro needling weekly, if that does anything to speed up growth.

Thank you. No I dont have pictures from pulled out hairs. But on month 1 picture you can see quite a few thick but short hairs that didnt grow or shed. Those were all death grafts. If that is what you mean by pulled out hairs?

I'm essentially at the 1 month mark now (in 2 days) and my experience has been very different to yours in terms of shedding - I can see very little shedding if at all of very small hairs. My impression is that I have had practically no growth in the recipient area and that the few slightly longer hairs I have are the ones I had before (very little of those, I know).

What caught my attention here was your mention of dead grafts. Since the only shedding I seem to notice is of short small hairs, it sounds to me as if almost all of them are dead :(

I know there's no reason for this to be the case, but is there a way to know? any specific details I can check that you're aware of that will indicate if grafts have actually survived or are dead?

Nah don’t worry mate. I don’t even know if those were death grafts in my case. Some shed in month 2 or later. As they always say, trust the progress. I had very high doubts about my transplant until month 3. Push through the time. You can start worrying at month 6.

Exactly, I think the receptors do not do what they are supposed to do. Some say the receptors are oversensitive to androgens. As I mentioned, my current Total T is between 1500 and 1800 ng/dl. Thats double or even tripple the normal T levels. Free T is 3x higher than norm. Yet I dont feel anything different in terms of libido, confidence, aggression etc. But there are tons of people like me with pfs who didnt had any benefits from TRT. But if the receptors are really oversensitive, TRT would have a negative effect.

I indeed tried low dose Cialis. I tried 5mg every day and dropped that to 2.5mg every day after a week or so. Cialis was one of the things that helped with libido in the beginning. Just as Black Maca extract or Rhodiola did. Even TRT did help in the first 4 weeks. But, as with Finasteride, it seems I am a one in a million case with bad luck when it comes to Cialis. After about 2 weeks on Cialis I noticed vision problems on my right eye. In the center of my eye I felt like I was going blind. I lost about 50% of my vision. Couldnt make the connection to Cialis at first. But luckily around week 4 I did some research and found that Cialis can cause vision problems for some people. I immediately stopped and within 2 weeks the vision turned back to normal. Guess I was lucky. If I would have taken it longer, who knows what would have happened. Yet people on Reddit, just as with Finasteride, dont believe that Cialis can do this.

Yes, it was hairs without a root/shaft. The hairs looked like cutted hairs. So just a hair with nothing under it.

Just chiming in here, perhaps you are very sensitive to drugs. Like in your OP you said how you fell asleep almost instantly after they gave you meds before the HT - myself and a few others here were awake the whole time. I was the tiniest bit drowsy and it made me feel less stressed about the whole thing, but no chance was I going to fall asleep.

Looks to be coming nicely at this stage. I think you’re looking at a nice result come 8 - 10 months.

Do you know which FUE punch was used and size?

Exactly. I think over sensitive to anything. For example in 2012 I smoked weed for the first time. I ended up in the hospital with a horror trip.

As for the Valium, it was only 20mg. And I slept pretty much the whole procedure. And then went home and slept another 12 hours. Best sleep I had in a long time.

Thats also the reason I am careful about trying minoxidil. Some studies show it’s an androgen interrupter.

Impressive and clean work.
4 month update looks very good, and the best is yet to come

I’m not really sure if I was an early grower until 4 months and that was it. So far, the last 2 weeks after this post, not much happened. Actually month 4 should be exploding. But to me it still looks the same in the mirror as 2 weeks ago.

Punch size I think it was 0.8mm. That’s what the paper says. But three hairs 1.9mm not sure if that can be.

are you microneedling the transplanted area? if so, when did you start doing that post-HT?

i'm not an expert but just thinking maybe thats not a good idea if the area is already full of inflammation trying to heal after the transplant, i think they say its like 1.5 years until its fully healed. BTW i saw that quite a few people here are actually against microneedling including @Melvin- Admin . I've tried it and it didn't provide any benefit for me personally, but yeah saw a lot of success cases on reddit. But they were microneedling alone or with min, not with a recent hair transplant.

anyway regardless looks like you've got some decent growth coming in month 4. i'm thinking up all these ideas i can do to try to make sure my growth is quick and dense, but i'm worried i might over complicate it and get in my own way a bit.

I did start around week 6 but I would not advise anyone do that. I had very good results with micro needling 2 years before surgery (in combination with The Ordinary hair peptides) but I couldn’t take the pain it was causing and after few months started to do it less and less frequently and then forgot about it.

If you do fin you are good. No need to do other things. Also you only had a thinning on the hairline and the rest is thick and full. So no need for micro needling and other crazy things.

Approaching month 5 in 7 days. This is more than I ever expected. And still seeing tiny hairs sprouting, so hopefully it will fill up more. No fibers, only hair wax. Sunday 3rd December is my next PRP treatment.
