I'm liking the new hairline design. Do you have pics of the crown? -
This may be the best hair transplant result I've ever seen.

My 12-month and possibly final update. The surgery overall was successful with good growth. I'm already starting to forget what it was like to live with combovers for 15 years or avoiding social situations unless I could wear a hat. The survival rate for BHT also seemed to be pretty high, though more coverage is needed (as expected). I do have a few nitpicks, which I think is only fair to the community for me to mention. The growth on the right side is still a bit thin in comparison to my left side and I also have some patchiness in my donor on the sides. Regarding slight thinness on my right side, I think it is mainly my fault because I remember noticing a thin spot had developed after walking around outside for hours with a bucket hat on the 6th day of post-op. I can cover this up pretty easily, but would recommend being careful to wear loose-fitting headwear after surgery. As for patchiness in the donor, it's not too substantial and I'm fine with it. It is noticeable to me and perhaps people within the hair transplant community, but I don't think the average person would think much of it. Overall I'm glad I went with Dr. Laorwong and certainly believe he's a safe bet for good results. FRONT: LEFT: RIGHT: DONOR (right): DONOR (left): BACK, BHT:

He didn't extract grafts from above my scar but he did extract from below it. There are some thinner patches on the side where my scar is but I'm okay with it. As for my crown, I have a baseball-sized bald spot at the moment. Laorwong checked my scalp back in November and said I still have baby hairs in my crown region so wanted me to wait a few months to see if they grow back from a shed I had. I'm not too sure of the punch size for the beard. I assume it was still around 0.9mm. He uses a Trivellini device for extraction.

Recent massive shed

I tried keto for about a month but didn't have any noticeable hair loss. The first time I noticed any hair loss in my crown area was after trying a vegan diet for two months. About a month into a vegan diet, my crown started itching like crazy, and then later on when I checked out my crown in the mirror, I noticed there was some thinning. Second time I tried a vegan diet, I had the same intense itching sensation in the crown after about 2 weeks on the diet. -

I alternate between the two for more efficacy. I don't think it would be the medication since I've been taking them consistently for a year now. -

Yes, I was thinking of getting blood tested for Vitamin D, iron, Vitamin B12, and I'm not sure if there's anything else I should check. Couple years ago, tests indicated I had lower levels of Vitamin D and increased levels of iron. -

So I had some more shedding recently and wanted to inquire further on this. I'm beginning to notice that the hair loss on my crown and mid scalp gets worse after either periods of traveling or times when I experimented with being on a restrictive diet. When I first made this thread, I had come back from about 3 months of traveling. This year, I started traveling in June, and then around 3-4 months later in October, I had another big shed that lasted basically until I came back home a few weeks ago. I had visited Dr. Laorwong in June and November of this year. In June, my crown was still okay where it was recommended to hold off on surgery. But by November, Dr. Laorwong had deemed that I'd be a candidate for crown surgery because enough hair had fallen out. I have continued to take finasteride or dustasteride every day, so it makes me feel like perhaps there's something else causing hair loss in my crown and mid scalp. Could it be vitamin deficiency while traveling? -

HAIR TRANSPLANT BEFORE WEDDING??
AlexMeister21 replied to eshda's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
I think it would look normal by 5 months since you're mostly increasing density to previously transplanted areas. There is a risk you may have shock loss, however. I had a transplant to increase density from previous surgeries and I was able to cover up well enough by month 3. By month 4-5, my hair looked like how it did before the transplant except slightly improved as new growth was occurring. -
Haha I knew you were on the beach. Looking like Archad now with the beard and hair. Are you going back to get the crown done?

You could try again with Dr. Laorwong. I talked to him in-person a couple weeks ago and he said sometimes he misses messages because he's busy.

If I were in your position and this was my first transplant, I'd feel strange as well going all the way over to Bangkok and getting the surgery done for cheaper than it costs in America. However, I think Laorwong has proven himself to be a great doctor, especially with the recent results of Archan and Jamos. And the price he charges is pretty expensive for Thai standards, but obviously it's considered cheap for Westerners. I went to him for repair surgery and I was in a riskier situation than you because I don't think there were any repair patients documented from him, but he did a great job. When I first went to his office back in late January or February, there were mostly Thai patients who seemed to be getting laser light therapy treatment. I was just in his office last week and it's much more busier now. I saw at least three foreign patients wearing black bandanas like some hair transplant biker gang.

Dr Kaan Pekiner - 1906 grafts - 26.01.23 & 27.01.23
AlexMeister21 replied to Spring15's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Wow, the density Pekiner produces is just amazing. -
Archan's result looked complete already by month 4. He's probably on a beach somewhere, soaking up the sun...hatless.

Dr. Kongiat Laorwong 3647 Graft (probably NW 4 or so)
AlexMeister21 replied to Wingtsun's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Everything looks on track. Do you know how many grafts were placed specifically in your crown area and then how many were in your frontal third?
