Regular Member Velberti Saiiter Posted July 27, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted July 27, 2023 There were 2 days of surgery, with Dr Felipe Pittella. On the 20th and 21st of July. Follicles: 11,130. Hairs: 13,673 Photo of my bald area, and right after, after the surgery, which the Dr sent me and how I am now.
Senior Member ITA Posted July 27, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted July 27, 2023 I noticed that in Dr. Pittella's transplants he often draws the widow's peak, can I ask you if he is the one who proposes it or were you already predisposed to wanting a hairline, precisely with that detail? However, as we are now used to seeing him, it will be yet another homerun.
Regular Member Stoner Posted July 27, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted July 27, 2023 Don't 11.130 grafts sound a bit too many for this case?

The hairs per follicle ratio is unusually low. I had 5500 grafts as a Norwood 5 but had a ratio of 2.5 ish which meant I had about the same number of hairs transplanted as this patient. I'm assuming he also has significant loss to the crown (but there are no pictures to show that) Edited July 27, 2023 by BackFromTheBrink
Regular Member Stewie Posted July 27, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted July 27, 2023 I am going to sound a little negative and I don't mean too as its nothing against this case, but I always see the same hairline design and also the same amount of grafts regardless of baldness pattern, and I can't help but think what about a backup plan? But that said all the other cases seem to turn out well so no doubt this will too! Sorry didn't mean to sound negative as its not meant to be, more of an observation 1 4 x HT - 10806 Scalp - 1800 Beard

But in the end, we reached an agreement.

Senior Member Bandit90 Posted August 2, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted August 2, 2023 (edited) Work looks super clean and I think the OP will have a great result. But I have to agree I think Dr Pitella uses way too many grafts! I'm not convinced the approach of blitzing the beard and scalp all in one sitting is wise for NW7's. I find myself asking the question if this was the best approach then why wouldn't Eugenix routinely do it, given they have resource and capability to transplant these numbers. Looking forward to seeing a few of the Dr Pitella review at 12 months, 18 months post op. Edited August 2, 2023 by Bandit90
