Shedding is noticeable now but some transplanted hairs are grown well with good pace and seems to cover the head .However more shedding in the 2nd month might highlight the bald areas which had transplanted hairs which are in shedding now. Also Aloe Vera gel did well on moisturising scalp and I didn’t got any need to use the anti dandruff shampoo. Here are the pictures :- Front - Front - (Slight Head down ) Both Side Angles from Top- Both Side Angles- Donor Area - Shedding - Two things got me worried - 1- That some shedding hairs are really too small seems like they didn’t grew at all before shedding .Hope that’s normal 🤞 2- The hair directions seems to be different in some areas on the side for which I shared with the clinic and they said with the transplanted hairs growing up they will get into the perfect angle and will mix with non transplanted ones . Hope that’s normal too 🤞 @NARMAK and others Please share your thoughts on how do you see the progress. One thing to bear in mind is that usually some hairs have the actual bit that produces the hair anchored in after the HT but because of trauma etc. it could end up immediately into a telogen phase and resting phase. So the existing hair has been shed under the skin but is only slowly getting pushed up and out. So it looks like it's just shed smaller because of this. The immediate post-op pictures you had showed what looks like proper angles and directions. You can compare with mine too and the angles become weird looking as the hair begin to shed. It's pretty normal. Just think of the next 2nd and 3rd months as the worst because almost all the hair that's shedding etc. falls out and then Month 4 onwards is when the growth starts slowly and surely getting better over time. You don't feel like things are going well, because trust me having been where i was a few months ago, i also wondered whether my HT was going to be successful but you cannot think long like that and i immediately brushed the idea from my head. You have to trust the process and your research. Things when they are within the first 2-3 weeks i think look the best at a short hairstyle when most of the hair are there. Months 2 & 3 wipe you out and then it's a slow process till after 6 months when sometimes you might start feeling fully positive of the direction your growth is going. 1 Follow my first Hair Transplant Journey! The shedding phase is still in progress but some transplanted hairs have grown well .Also still worried about the some transplanted hairs appears in different direction if I click a pic from top of the head and as discussed with clinic it will be in symmetry once they grow and will start matching the native hairs . Below is the progress of 45 days post op so far. Please share your thoughts on the progress as if it appears to be slow or on point ? Regular Member keratin_matters Posted November 3, 2022 Regular Member Share Posted November 3, 2022 It looks great. Also you retained many of your transplanted hair during the shedding phase. Can pull off a great look with fibres even now.

You seemed to have kept quite a lot of the transplanted hair as mentioned but don't freak out if there's a but more shedding over the next 45 days either and be aware the angles at this time might now look "right" if the hairs being pushed out ready to shed. It should all hopefully regrow in the correct way but it can take time for the hair to thicken, mature and darken. It can take up to 12-18 months for full results and you've got to be prepared to be patient and try not to lose hope. You went to a solid clinic after research. Trust the process. Thanks Kamran on your inputs , As you said above this means that shedding could happen upto 90 days and yea I seem to feel little more relaxed after hearing from people experiences around in this forum and Reddit . Also about the hair directions which does not look ‘right’ now and once they shed and then they grow back in proper angles so what about the hairs that don’t shed do they sync up with correct direction and native hairs without being shed ? The hairs that don't shed, the angles should generally be "correct" but it's not always 100% because they are transplanted they could have trauma, kink etc. so it's best to think of all transplanted hair as needing a "refresh" at some point in a new hair cycle to look as good as they should. By 5-6 months, things should be looking more "normal" but not at a complete final result imo. Follow my first Hair Transplant Journey! Hi @Bb111I saw your journey until now and it looks amazing and you might have gone way ahead after the ugly duckling phase . I had one question regarding the Hair fibers which you have posted in your journey that you used to attend an event and it amazingly covered your scalp even while the transplanted hairs were thin . According to your experience did you had any itching issues or any side effect on transplanted hair after using the hair fibers and is it safe enough to apply it ? I am at 50 days post op and was thinking of applying hair fibers on an upcoming event this weekend .Also it would be great if you can tell which hair fibre product you used ? Currently I do have a Kerrato Hair Fibre product .Also can we use the fibre hold spray after applying those fibers ? Sharing an image : Hoping to hear from you soon . Senior Member Bb111 Posted November 6, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted November 6, 2022 @Madhur Vansil Hey, I used a brand named Toppik which is popular in the US (maybe elsewhere too, not sure). I only use the fibers not the holding spray. I did not have any reactions to the fibers and I was using them on and off for years prior to the transplant. After the transplant I've been using the fibers very rarely, just for big meetings or events a couple of times. I am sure to wash the fibers out at the end of the day. I think if you have healed from the original surgery occasional fiber use will not hurt your transplant. 1 My hair transplant journey: Eugenix July 18/19 with Dr. Pradeep Sethi and Dr. Arika Bansal 3811 Grafts
Regular Member Madhur Vansil Posted December 17, 2022 Author Regular Member Share Posted December 17, 2022 3 Months Update (16th December) Finally 90 days completed and I feel that there is decent growth but hairs are still thin and some sprouts are felt when touching the scalp .Harsh lighting exposes the scalp so just curious and hoping for hair getting thicker over time with more sprouted hairs add upto volume and density 🤞 Here are the pics : Please share your thoughts on the progress . Regular Member Madhur Vansil Posted January 15, 2023 Author Regular Member Share Posted January 15, 2023 Finally hit the 4th month mark today .Overall improvement is observed and got feedback from clinic today even prior to 4 months mark that the growth is real quick in my case and my Anagen growth phase is already in good pace. But still I feel there is some sparseness if I take snap from rear camera of my iPhone with focus on scalp I mean the see through scalp is still visible for which as the clinic stated it will improve with time as it’s just 4 months so 🤞. Also the left side had improved a bit but still slow from my right side but yea overall improvement is visible for that side too so that’s a good sign . Regular Member Madhur Vansil Posted January 31, 2023 Author Regular Member Share Posted January 31, 2023 (edited) 4.5 months Update : Yesterday hit the 4.5 month mark and growth is coming along well and seems to make difference a little bit if I compare it with my 4 months mark .Some hairs are still at small length and expect more density with hairs becoming long and hopeful about more sprouting which will add up to density and volume in coming months 🤞 Also I did trim my sides and donor area couple of times already as they were becoming really long and making me look crazy 😅 Let me know guys what do you think is there difference between 4 months / 4 months 15 days ? and what do you think about the progress ? Thanks @MazAB for such assuring words and yea I can feel the improvement but still HT hairs still have to sync up well with non HT hairs and also increase in density and volume to reduce or I can say eliminate the sparseness .What do you think as per your experience could be timeline to achieve this ?
