Hello and Thanks for the Feedback! I agree with you that the other surgeons I mentioned Are a level above (De. Freitas and so on). However the waiting list was way too long. As far as treatment goes minoxidil is something I responder extremely well to, my hairline crew around 2 cm lower in 4 months I have some before and after picturew I can try and find. Because I had to quit minoxidil before the surgery I might have lost some of that progress for now at least. Also is it possible to skip the ugly duckling Faze? I thought everyone had that. Again Thanks for the input and no you do not sound like you Are trying to bash me I appreciate critisism alot:)

You should combine the oral finasteride with the oral minoxidil and drop the topical version  to be sure since you are basically 20 years old and have a aggressive hair loss. You dont get the oral minoxidil in norway tho but  it is several websites u can buy it from

Well its good that youre responding to minox in that aspect. But its hard to say sometimes because you can have shedding phases with fin or minox and it looks like its making it worse or better. But it takes a few months to really notice things. Its the same thing with the ugly duckling phase. Your hair goes through different phases of its growth cycle.

But, you have to consider you already have native hairs close to your implanted hair so you may have temporary shock loss which is trauma to your dermis and surrounding cells from the surgery. Then you have your implanted hairs that will most likely fall out and grow back in, sometimes this doesnt always happen and its perfectly normal. I have seen a good amount of people shed and not shed (usually most people shed which is 100% normal) but there are some who barely lose their implanted hairs. This basically looks nice because you dont have to look like you had a hair transplant within the first 3-4 months and your hair grows normally with your native hair. Probably just looks whispy and wirey but thats normal early.

Also if you dont mind me asking, how come you didnt consider FUT or want to wait a year for those other surgeons (all but the asmed clinic thats a hair mill) given your age I think it wouldve been in your best interest?

Good question. I didnt want to wait because I dont have the time to Get the procedure done in a year or Even 6 months. Starting my studies and wont be able to travel at all. Some people might think I have rushed it but I really think Pekiner was a good option for me and If I can have a somewhat good hairline in these younger years of my life then that is what I think is most appealing. If I where to have another transplant it would have to be in like 6 years or something. Regarding FUT I dont really know I thought that was considered a less advanced procedure no? Btw I also eventually came to the conclusion that asmed wasn’t that great

I dont mean to be harsh at all but you cant use your study as a excuse to not have have a time to travel at all.
but i understand the argument regarding to have a good hairline and hair when it is most appealing.

Your right I Guess I do have time but Going through the phases og potential shedding and all those phases i something I would like to be done with before I start studying and stuff. Your right though I could have been more patient

i thought that pekiner has a "no under 25 policy", im suprised he took your case

I got the impression that he was sceptical but I had stabilized my hair completely 1 year Prior with finasteride so I Guess that convinced him

Your crown is following a Norwood 7 pattern, do you have pictures of your hair before the transplant and before hairloss? At 20 I still had more hair in my hairline then I do now at 23 so it’s risky but your hairloss to me looks like a Norwood 7 pattern because right above the donor I can see miniaturized hair in the horseshoe pattern

Hello everyone I would like to share my results coming off an FUE procedure done at Dr Pekiners clinic in Ankara Turkey. It was done 6 days ago now on 26 - 28th of July.

Background

- 20 years old

- hair loss for 5 years, since a teenager.

- Hairloss stabilized with finasteride for 1 year

- I use minoxidil but had to temorary quit in lieu with hair transplant

Choice of clinic/surgeon

First of all I think it is important to do alot of research before doing a procedure like this. It is something that should be done properly in my opinion, so finding a higly regarded surgeon was a big priority of mine. I looked at alot of surgeons, some including Dr. De Freitas, Dr. Juan Cuoto, Dr. Bicer, Asmed clinic and Dr. Ferreira. I ultimately landed on Dr. Pekiner as his results looked amazing when it came to the hairline area.

His results usually came with high density and very natural results. Definetly some of the best results I had seen. I also needed someone I could trust with my donor area as I am only 20 years old, yes you read that right I was born in 2002 lol.

The expertise donor management was as I mentioned really important but also the fact that Dr. Pekiner is someone trustworthy and is not trying to rob you of your donor area or grasp all the money he can from you. He is a very kind mannered surgeon with good morals and that was important to me as well.

Prior to the operation I had alot of questions asked about my medication and overall condition. They don’t just let anyone come in and Get a hair transplant If it is not suitable for them, which I can really appreciate.

i would also like to add that Dr. Pekiner himself does every single extraction/Implantation himself and you are the only patient in the clinic at the time of surgery. (My surgery took place over 3 days)

My experience

My experience overall was great. I stayed at the Hotel down the street from the clinic names Atakosk hotel. They had recommended me this place and they also offer a clinic discount price for this hotel og 40 euros per night. Beautiful hotel snd Nothing to complain about, also it lays 3 minutes away from the clinic.

I had a driver for anywhere I went, I got picked up at the AirPort and back by the driving company from the clinic. All the other times I got picked up back and forth to the clinic by one of Pekiners surgical assistants which made me feel more at ease as he was very kind and helpful.

The first day I arrived at the clinic we drew up the hairline and agreed upon where it would be and the number of grafts needed. I definetly had hope that my hairline could be a little lower but we ultimately chose to have more density and I was still happy with how the hairline looked. After then shaving my head we went right onto surgery and extractions.

Noe about the anasteshia, it is really not bad on the first day at all, sure it hurts but Nothing unbearable. However the anesteshia on the second and third day was extremely painful especially on the third day It was almost unbearable. I am guessing that it’s due to the swelling and the area being more sensitive from surgery the previous days. However I laid still and took it like a champ.

The surgery was setup with extractions - a little break - implantations - break. It was the same on the second and third day but with the extractions and implantations being split into two parts so that I had more breaks. During breaks you Get to relax in the private room that is given to you. Food is also served which was really good and tastes Even better when in between surgery. After the third day I got back to the Hotel and left 2 days later as I wanted to Get some time to let the swelling go down before I left however I would not recommend this as the swelling actually accumulates and is most prevelant after a few days. I also had alot of swelling and looked like a Wii character, I will put some pictures for reference. Anyway as I said I had a great experience and I truly believe this is on of the best surgeons you will get out there with a very comfortable environment. I probably paid more than what other clinics in turkey could offer but for me it was more than worth it

Right now Im back in Norway and healing up, If you guys have any questions just let me know and I will keep you guys updated as best as I can! :) cheers!

Hello everyone I just thought I would add some picture of my hair before arriving to the clinic as I got some Feedback from the clinic that the ones taken at the clinic with my head shaved might show a situation Worse than reality because of my hair caliber. Here Are some pictures from before I shaved my head. I was also on minoxidil in these photos.

Looks like a really clean job.

Pekiner said no to my consultation 2 years ago when I was 23 and on min and fin. Didn’t realise he would work with an aggressively balding 20 year old, but I gues the medication must clearly be working well for you.

Thanks man, Yeah honestly I contacted his  clinic with not that high hopes because I know he usually doesn’t take on people that young. I made sure to mention right away that I was on finasteride though and it seemed fine to him. My hairloss completely stopped with finasteride, Also im using the 5mg finasteride split into 4 Pieces of 1.25mg a day.

When did you contact them? Was the waiting time long?

I contacted them on Aug 2nd and Alex, the advisor, responded within 5 minutes. I got lucky as I requested for a specific period due to my time off and they probably had a client who was willing to move their dates to Sep. The timing was confirmed on Aug 8th and I booked my tickets yesterday for Ankara.

i still have to pay them the deposit and trying to find if o can wire them a big amount instead of 300 Euro, as each wire costs $$ and I would hate to take 12.5K in cash!!

The communication has been impeccable. Alex is based in Italy and seems like he works 24X7 as I am messaging him at all EST times and he is quick to respond.

I’m pretty sure they can take card payments for the remainder of the balance, did they say you have to make the deposit before getting there since it’s such short of notice?
