Hello all

I have just finished my procedure with @Eugenix Hair Sciencesand wanted to give everyone an update of the whole thing. I want to thank everyone at the clinic for their great service from beginning to end, and forgive me if I am not able to mention all the names involved with my procedure.

Arrival in India and day before surgery (25th of April 2022)

I arrived in Delhi after a very long flight on the early hours of Monday. Airport process took a while but since we had everything correct it was all fine! We were picked up at the airport by a very kind driver from the Hilton hotel. We drove there and immediately went to sleep. A few hours later I woke up and went to have a breakfast.  I got a call from the clinic saying hello and wishing to pick me up.  Anit, the Eugenix driver came with a luxurious car and collected me, it was a short drive. Maximum 3 minutes.

As soon as I was dropped off the clinic I saw Anil waiting for me by the entrance, shook his hand and he escorted me inside the clinic. I might have complimented his hairline once or twice, I told him Ill have what you had! It was a nice feeling arriving at the clinic and feeling expected, especially by people who probably never saw me or texted me before. I felt like everyone wanted to say hello to me, especially being international and flying for so long just for a hair transplant. I sat in the lobby for some minutes and then Dr. Pradeep Sethi came and greeted me. We joked around about bad hairlines and how unnatural some hairs were hanging on the side of my head. We quickly said that these will be removed first thing as soon as the procedure starts. He introduced me to a few people in the clinic and showed me around for a few minutes. Later on a nurse came and took my blood pressure and did some blood tests that will be required for the procedure next day. After that I was finished and left.

Later in the evening, I visited the clinic again to meet and chat with Dr. Arika Bansal.  We sat down and discussed everything that was needed.  The conversation felt much more real and accurate compared to doing it on the video call. She is a very understanding woman, and she quickly understood what looked right and not right on my hair. We examined the donor area and since I had a lot of bad work done from the back she assured me that the thick hairs will allow me to get good coverage without needing to take a lot of grafts.  In the original consultation I was told that I might need beard grafts but I later on I understood that I wont need to. This wasn't a problem for me, however it is good to keep beard grafts for any future needs (who knows).  About an hour later I met some patients and quickly became friends, since the subject of hair was on everyone's mind! Dr. Pradeep came in the room and said that he wants to take us to his farmhouse for an evening dinner. This was very kind of him!  We went there all together, ate, listened to music and then I returned to the hotel. I also met @Yaasar - The Alpha at the farmhouse. Great guy! He is the hairline repair legend at the clinic. He checked on me many times via text messages and took the time to travel just to come and say hello. Also.. thanks to everyone from the forum who showed interest in me. The continued support was much appreciated!

Surgery Day 1 (26th of April 2022)

If I say something that wasn't accurate or missed any parts that you expected me to say... please forgive me

I woke up and had the best breakfast I could. Something that made me full but also something that won't upset my stomach and cause me to stop the procedure to use the bathroom frequently! I was picked up by the clinic and taken there. A small talk was done in a room before going for surgery of what I wanted and what I expected from all of this. They took me in the photography room where we took detailed before photos, they shaved my head and took photos again and started drawing hairlines, temporal points and lines around the donor area where the hair should be taken and where not to be taken. I explained to them to avoid harvesting from areas where there was over harvested from the previous clinic. I was promised that I will have a very balanced graft harvest that will give a balanced look at the back, rather than a patchy one.  The doctors said that the back side of my head looked great but I was still advised to avoid having short haircuts due to the circumstances of what was done previously. I completely agreed.  Dr. Pradeep Sethi did the final adjustments to my hairline and temple points. We drew everything as conservative as possible! I didn't want to be create new areas and worry they wont grow full. I made sure to fill the hairline with singles and make sure the conservative temple points are as dense as possible, with fine and soft single grafts.. all going with the correct directions. He insisted that I didn't remove all the doubles and unhealthy hairs from the hairline, but instead we would add a number of rows of pure single hair grafts that will be taken from the nape area. We also planned to remove 29 grafts that were hanging in wrong directions on the left side of my scalp. These bothered me for 5 years!!  Thank god they are gone.  We also drew into the crown area making sure we can plant as many grafts as we could, and blending some grafts into the midscalp as well so that everything will be joint together. Everything was discussed at that point, I got dressed and moved into the operation room. The technicians greeted me and Dr.Priyadarshini Das was also in the room waiting for me and explaining everything that is about to happen. Received Anesthesia and continued. A few minutes later Dr. Pradeep Sethi came to do the slits for my hair line and temple points. He was adamant that he wanted to be the one responsible to give me this new and natural appearance that I always dreamed about. Slits were done in gabs that I had between transplanted hair from previous surgery which will give me a fuller look and then finally the at the back, doing our best to make sure we get a dense packed crown! When the slits were done, he made sure I felt ok and left the room. The removal of the old grafts began and we planted them in mid scalp. I can't remember how long the process was on this day, but definitely not long. Total slit count on that day was 2526. Which at first was about 200-300 short that what I thought I had planned, but they all assured me that it is enough coverage for different parts of my procedure.

Surgery Day 2 (27th of April 2022)

Again I woke up and took a very healthy breakfast. Today would be the long day. I was already mentally prepared for it. I was picked up and arrived at the clinic. I met Satyam there and had a friendly chat. He was the man who organized a lot of things and made sure I had all the hotel and travel requirements arranged. Dr.Priyadarshini Das was in the room with the technicians and we all had a friendly talk together. Some of the techs that were in the room have been at the clinic for longer than 6 years, which made me very comfortable. The extraction process began.  I believe they started with the left side of my back, took out the grafts and planted them in the appropriate recipient area. The same was done for the other side. The nurse that gives me Anesthesia  made sure that I tell them anytime that I feel pain that I must tell them to give me a top up of Anesthesia. I was asked if everything was ok more than once!  As most people repeatedly say over and over, it is probably the only painful part of everything. It hurts... I have thin skin and I felt it. It was something that only stings for 3 seconds and then nothing at all. They were gentle with me, it was all ok. Another painful part was sitting on my face while they extracted grafts from the central part of the donor area. This wasn't something they can control, it was all down to me. But we did managed to do it with some small intervals while I massage my forehead.

As the hours went on, the DHT process began. Out of the back and into the recipient area. I remember there was a moment that made me smile, Dr.Priyadarshini Das was sitting at a short distance from me, wearing her microscopic equipment dissecting my thick grafts into something finer and more natural. I could see a lot of passion and care in that moment. Every step of the procedure, they use microscopes.  Extracting... dissecting and implanting. This is why I chose Eugenix. We mentioned a lot of times that when it came to choosing singles we made sure there are no telogens hidden in them! They continued by implanting the singles into my temple points, starting with singles and moving towards doubles as we go further back. The hairline consisted of grafts that were all taken from the nape area as mentioned.

Dr. Pradeep Sethi came into the room to check on me, and we did a short talk explaining what we just did so far. They turned on a magnifying camera and showed me half the work done on a big screen.  It was AMAZING. We could see how the grafts were all implanted correctly on the temple points, and since the grafts have tiny hairs coming out they give us a small indication that everything will grow naturally and in correct directions. Most of them where flat and backwards and some were going downwards and backwards. We zoomed in on the hairline also. The detail was out of this world. We could spot out all the fine single grafts that were implanted before the thick wall of grafts that I had previously done. We made sure that we did 4 rows of single grafts to give a soft entrance to the hairline!

They kept asking me if there was anything I want to watch or listen. I told them all to play music that will make everyone in good spirit. It's not only about me, it was also about them. We were all in this together. There were about 2 or 3 washroom breaks in total and a few stops to drink some fresh Gatorade. I was also happy to get a back massage as well!

Dr.Priyadarshini Das said that now it was time to focus completely on the crown area. They designed a natural whirl pattern for me the day before and now it was time to fill it up with the strongest and thickest grafts we can get our hands on!  Dr. Arika Bansal came to check on me and made sure everything was fine and that I was happy with the process so far.

After the crown was initially done, we added a few more grafts to strengthen the mid scalp and any small gaps that remained in the frontal zone, scattered around as fillers for a fuller result. I believe the whole process on Day 2 was at least 9 hours! I have to thank the team in there, they were all calm and kind, and they never looked like they were fatigue or tired or have an attitude of wanting to finish fast just to get home. They never joked around with each other or messed around with the tv. They were so focused on me, and I enjoyed it when they were telling me on which part of the scalp they are working on, what type of grafts were being implanted and how I'm feeling They all worked like a well oiled machine.  Some people might think the day was too long for 2.5k grafts, but then again what is the rush? I was told by Anil that the team never rushes and takes every step of the way the same way as the one before it. This ensures quality, care and both patient and tech/doctor remain in good condition physically and mentally. I was completely behind this.

Towards the end of the procedure Dr. Arika Bansal came for a final check on me and made sure everything was fine and that I was happy with how things went. She is a very busy person, I was happy to see the interest in me.  She also told me that it is important to get on medication when all of this is done. To prevent continues hair loss and make sure that the existing hairs remain healthy at full potential. She said the clinic will provide me with oral medication to take with me.

The surgery finished at 9pm at night. Total graft count was 2526. There was no pain and most of all no messy scalp! Barely any blood patches on my scalp. It was simply the redness that you expect and the fresh implanted graft. Amandeep came into the room in the end and greeted me, after so many WhatsApp conversations it was nice to meet the man who helped me get here.

A few minutes later they sat me down in the photography room, took the photos and Dr. Pradeep Sethi came in to have a look at everything. He assured me that they did an excellent job on me and wished me a great result. We also filmed a conversation together with the photographer. I wasn't comfortable with it but talking about hair was easy for me. They assured me that any videos used online with have my face blurred. I appreciated that fact.

Dr.Priyadarshini Das came to me again, and took me in a separate room to discuss all the details for the post-OP. This was important to me since all clinics have different approaches. He explained that I will be informed every day about what I should be doing. Each day it was either the same thing or adding something. The medication pills, the forehead massages to prevent swelling and the saline spray for the scalp. The surgical caps, the pillow covers. They also gave me a lovely neck pillow which saved me on the first two nights! I slept peacefully without worrying about brushing my grafts on the bed!

Day 3 post surgery (28th of April 2022)

On this day the recovery started. Eating.. taking medication.. spraying saline spray.. following all the instructions they gave me and doing nothing but relax.

Most of the day was spent in the hotel! I was called to the clinic to have my donor area washed with Betadine and they showed me how to do it by myself.

Day 4 post surgery (29th of April 2022)

Next day I woke up great. The recipient area was already healing great with the continued use of saline spray and I felt confident to go for a walk around the hotel, did some shopping and ordered a pizza.

We took a private taxi and visited some historical sites.  Places with greenery and not that many people. I believe the peace and good mental health contributed to a steady recovery. My head was covered with the protective surgical cap the whole time outside and also being in the shade as much as possible. Everything was fine from that point.  Spraying the saline solution every hour to keep my scalp clean and moist

Day 5 post surgery (30th of April 2022)

Once again, easy sleep and woke up feeling good. I did try to hold myself from looking at the mirror every 4 seconds but I did want to make sure everything was still there, looking healthy and undamaged from the night sleep. I also want to add that I've had no itching or urge to touch anything on the scalp. Swelling was also at a minimum, mainly on the lower part of the forehead! Today was the final day in India and we decided to visit the Taj Mahal. It was a long safe driver with a private car, I didn't have to do anything but sit, arrive, small walk and back again. That's all, safe as can be. Later on that evening I was invited to the clinic again, I purchased oral medication and they did a final wash for the donor area. They explained that since I won't be here I will have to be careful doing the 7th day wash of the recipient area myself by following their instructions carefully. Nothing to be worried about! I said my goodbyes to Amandeep, Satyam and Dr. Arika.. and thanked them for their service and said goodbye.  Anil called me to say that Dr. Pradeep wanted to invite me over for a dinner, I happily accepted and we drove there. Fantastic food and hospitality. Dr. Pradeep Sethi and the other doctors are all excellent for anyone considering hair restoration. It's that simple. We said goodbye to him and some of the technicians that were also at the farmhouse for dinner! Later on that night I returned to my hotel to try and have a good sleep before my flight the next morning.

I would have liked to stay longer, for a more relaxing recovery and a recipient area wash by the clinic but I couldn't afford it. I am now sitting at home recovering. I don't think I missed out of anything crucial, I tried my best to write in detail! All I can say is that I had a good experience and a professional approach when it came to the procedure. If anyone out there is looking for a safe place to go for surgery, consider Eugenix part of your list. I can honestly say you are in good hands with these people and you can trust them.  I certainly trusted them, especially with my donor area that was already depleted and I trusted them to give me a natural hairline!

Day 6 post surgery  (1st of May 2022)

Leaving India. Overall I had a good stay and had very minimum complaints, all of which had nothing to do with the clinic! Didn't sleep too much due to having to wake up super early for the flight back home, but the most important thing was that the grafts were safe and intact. The hotel drove me to the airport and flew back home.

I've put all my trust into Eugenix and as we know there are a handful of excellent clinics in the world, but I decided to travel a long journey to choose them based on their history with changing peoples lives, natural results and what they can do for my specific case. I look forward to the first 2 months to be over and patiently see the new growth.

I know some of you might think the hairline is too low in the photos below.... and the temples can appear quite aggressive. Hairline is 6cm in length which is on the lower side. I tried to make sure the clinic did a conservative job to frame my face. The temple points are also not symmetrical, which I trust that Dr. Pradeep designed it well and hopefully it will grow natural with all the singles that we planted and on the first rows of the hairline! I also believe the extraction was so clean and punch holes are so tiny, that you are now seeing just the mess that was done from turkey... we tried to even it out. Hopefully it grows nicely at the back. If anyone is wondering what that black patchy stuff on my donor area is.. its SMP.

PS. I am currently on daily 1mg Finasteride medication

That's all for now

@Murat-kz I chose the premium package with Dr Arika Bansal's technicians.  The design of the new hairline and slits were made personally by Dr. Pradeep Sethi.

The photo you attached is how I looked before the operation at Eugenix

Did Dr Sethi make exeption for your case? There is no any mentioning in Premium Package about him on their official website. Only Dr. Arica Bansal and technicians …

Wow! There is a customized package. And I didn’t even know about existing of such. What was the price per graft if you don’t mind?

Hello, my natural hairline was 8.5 cm.  In 2017 I went to Turkey to lower my hairline to have a smaller forehead, but the hairline was terrible. The original transplanted hairline was made at 7cm from glabella.  5 years later, I came to Eugenix to fix it, we decided that the best solution was the plant softer grafts in front of it, so we lowered it almost by 1 cm.. in order to have 3 rows of new single grafts

Just now I have measured the center tip of my hairline and it is currently around 6cm from the glabella. This is the lowest a hairline should be for someone who suffers from male pattern baldness

@Ryan Daniel Thanks for answering. Is the lowered hairline near your frowns ? Do you think the hairline will move as you frown ?

Your temples are also looking very natural.

Hi again, the new hairline is above the highest frown. I made sure of it during the design drawing

What was your exact reasoning behind this? I'd heard somewhere that Dr arika has mastery over extractions and Dr Pradeep over slits.

6 MONTHS UPDATE

A big month when it comes to a hair transplant procedure.

I have definitely seen and felt a difference from previous months, however there is still some more growth that is yet to happen.

In the beginning I thought I was one of the people who is a fast grower, especially on my temples, but now at month 6 I realize that I still have empty spots on the hairline which are yet to have hairs coming out of them. I hope I am a slow grower because it only means more growth.

I will say that I am much more comfortable with my hair than I ever was. Waking up, showering and walking out the door is incredibly easy these days. If it's windy outside.. I don't give a sh*t. My hair stays as it is and I'm not worried about how my hairline looks either because I know it's more natural now and not having that transplanted appearance.

With Finasteride things have been going super well. Religiously taking the 1mg per day routine, I almost gave up on the in the beginning because I had pain in left testicle (which went away over time) watery semen (which came back to normal now) and also slightly tired which doesn't happen anymore. I stuck to it and carried on. I am determined to see if it will work on me. I remember people like Karl @ Zoomster saying that it thickened his donor area.  Small comments like these motivated me incredibly. I have been on the pill for almost 6 months now and hopefully Ill be able to continue it to preserve what I have.

The top view of my entire head will always seem to appear thin, simply because all the hairs are implanted upwards thanks to Hair of Istanbul (worst clinic in Turkey by a mile), but I must live with it

The left hand side temple has much more to improve, I see tiny stubble here and there which give me confidence for future growth.

The right hand side temple has grown extremely well, to the point where ill be happy if it stays as is..

The hairline as mentioned is finally natural, with a few remaining empty spots still remaining to grow

Finally, the crown has been a steady ship. I have seen and felt improvements. The crown is special to me because it was an area that was never touched previously, so it all feels like a new thing and I'm happy to see it grow slowly.

Also, the donor area might look thick and full on the photos, but in reality it is simply due to medium length appearance and some SMP that I had from 4 years ago.  The team at @Eugenix Hair Sciences did their best with my donor area, it's not easy to find a clinic work on someone who was destroyed and keep things the way they are rather than making it worse.

I decided to skip a few haircuts the past weeks to see what happens, I haven't used hair products since before I got the procedure. I also threw away all my Toppik hair fiber products

That's all for now

I will also attach a few side by side to see minor difference which have affected me very much in my life when it comes to confidence and natural appearance.

It is a very conservative improvement, which is exactly what I wanted and what I will want to look like when I'm older

Thanks for sharing and it's looking on track for a solid result. I'm a month behind you atm, so i also hope what you said is similar for myself where we continue to have growth of even some new hairs coming through and adding to things.

The framing of the face between the comparisons you did is really good to see the subtle but impactful difference temple points can make.

Photos below are taken standing near a window with everyday natural light as always! (not strong direct sunlight):

I will also attach a few side by side to see minor difference which have affected me very much in my life when it comes to confidence and natural appearance.

Photos were taken at work, in an environment lighting of how people see me everyday

It is a very conservative improvement, which is exactly what I wanted and what I will want to look like when I'm older

Thanks all for showing interest. Will be updating in the next month or two

Hairline now looks so much softer & that along with the the temple points gets you firmly out of the woods from your previous bad surgeries. Only going to get better from here!

@Ryan Daniel Can you please tell how you did your research in choosing a hair transplant repair surgeon ?

Can you also share photos pre OP from your first hair transplant.

Hello,

This is me in April 2017

The photo was taken 2 days before I went to Turkey for hair transplant

Regarding my research for hair repair, it started from JT's YouTube channel recommending Eugenix and then later on I continued my research here on the forum after seeing patients get natural results

Thanks

Looks awesome @Ryan Daniel! Still have plenty more improvement to go! Quick question on your temple points. I know you mentioned once before that you were not sure about how the symmetry would turn out from right to left. How's it looking as it's all starting to shape up?

Hello,

They are indeed not identical.  Some might say temple points aren't meant to be symmetrical by nature and also I have noticed that Eugenix do not make them symmetrical on some of their patients unless you request it.  After seeing both my sides slowly grow out I have gotten used to how it looks now. I personally wish I spent more time looking at the shape drawn before the procedure, but I was immensely focused on having soft and natural looking grafts rather than shapes

Thanks for checking in on me and wishing you a great result in your procedure too man

No one will ever notice accept you for the rest of your life brother! The subtle asymmetry makes it more natural in my opinion.

@Ryan Daniel did you also have any pitting in your recipient area ? I may also need to get repair done (if possible), I am considering Dr Mwamba and Eugenix, however travelling to Brussels is a big issue, as I will have to get a Schengen and Dr Mwamba is very expensive, if number of grafts will be large it will be unaffordable, and if he will require multiple sittings then it wont be possible for me. Whereas Eugenix is in my city.

Although balding, you still look good in this photo. You had more hair than I did when I had my hair transplant

7 MONTHS UPDATE

Hi all,

I'm a day past my 7 month update mark from the procedure with @Eugenix Hair Sciences

Although I haven't felt much of a visual difference from last month I have definitely felt a touch of thickness in my overall hair strands and I believe it is the Finasteride playing it's part.  I'm a little over 6 and a half months of taking the 1mg daily dosage now and I feel that it is finally taking its course

My hairline is slowly growing out the way it should, yet I still have some empty spots that need to sprout out properly. I can see the base of the graft appearing out of the skin

My temple points also have a few grafts left to sprout but overall I am very pleased the way they are growing out and giving me a natural masculine appearance when looking at me from the sides. It was all about use of single grafts and flat angle plantation

The crown has filled in slowly and it is working hand in hand with the medication I have faith that it will be restored and thickened by the end of this. I refuse to wear an Toppik hair fibers to conceal anything.

The donor area is quite might look thick and full, but unfortunately I am not allowed to cut it shorter than a number 4 guard, or else it will look very patchy. As if it was cut by a blind man. I have gotten used to having the medium length hair and I am totally fine with it.  If it bothers me in the future, I will get SMP

Again I will point out how my hair looks when looked overhead view. I believe it looks thin and bad because Hair of Istanbul planted all my grafts in upwards angle

Overall styling my hair has been effortless, which is a huge relief in daily life. No more trying to hide the bad hairline anymore.  Now I just wait for some more growth that will hopefully occur within the 8th or 9th month. I do believe that some hairs grow less fast because single hair grafts that are taken from the nap area tend to have a slower growth cycle than the grafts taken from the strongest zone of the donor area

I have attached side by side difference of my hairline repair:

It is very important to me to appreciate the difference in appearance of the hairline.

The aim was to change something that looked like a bad hair transplant into something that is more natural and draws less attention

Thanks all for showing interest. Will be updating in the end of the year

Thanks for sharing your update and that side by side imo definitely shows a noticeable difference of how natural the hair now looks compared to before.

I haven't got any haircut myself yet  so i don't know what's the lowest grade i could go, but i'm hoping to try a 2 Guard at some point to see how things play out.

You're about a month ahead of me but the fact that you still have hair ready to sprout and thicken is a good sign imo. Means you're still getting an improvement and hopefully will up to 12-18 months.
